  1. A: What's the plan for today? Mrs. A: We are going to my parent's house. A: What time we going over? Mrs. A: What time do you want to go? A: I was thinking late afternoon, before dinner. Mrs. A: I don't want to wait until dinner time to go over there. A: That's why I said "late afternoon". Mrs. A: But you said "before dinner". A: Uh, how about you just tell me what time you want to go over there? You know that I hate it when you ask me a question that you already have an answer figured out in your own head. Mrs. A: Why can't you just have a normal conversation. 2+ hours later. I still have no idea when we are going to her parent's house.

  2. Yep, he was a fine coordinator with us. The comment that Rudolph "covered" for him is absurd. He also took noodle arm J.W. Walsh and game manager Clint Chelf to 10 wins, NY6, and damn near a conference title. Hell, we went toe to toe with Famous Jameis in the first game after FSU won the national title, and did it with 'ol noodle arm. Add that Wickline decided to leave us fucked on o-line and much of Yurcich's tenure was with a crappy to below average oline. Yeah, we had some offensive duds, and I distinctly recall a few WTF calls, but not many, and it happens to every team. The stats y'all have stated tell the story, he was a good coordinator, and our inability to get over the hump has been mostly defensive. The people who were "happy" to see Yurcich go are the same people now who want to "fire Gundy."

  3. My family is 1,600 miles away back in the greatest state so a FaceTime call yesterday was all we got. Easy peasy. However our friends invited us over for her family Christmas dinner, held tonight. This is important: of our friends, he is a state rep and she runs a lobbying firm. Both democrats, both Warren supporters. This isn’t a secret and they’re both well known and respected by both political parties. I go over early in the afternoon to help cook and, of course, to drink. She warns us Christmas dinner might be interesting. I get excited cause I absolutely love family drama when I can be an in-person spectator. Dinner is supposed to be at 5:30. Strike 1: At 6:15 her parents roll up, along with the uninvited niece and the niece’s rat terrier. Strike 2: Mom and dad are wearing MAGA gear. Strike 3: 10 minutes into dinner the terrier tries to eat our friends’ poodle. The niece doesn’t care and when they tell her to lock her dog up she goes and sits in the car. Strike ... 4?: after dinner. before dessert mom says she hopes they aren’t having children unless they start supporting Trump because her heart couldn’t take an indoctrinated grandchild. They leave without even eating my banana pudding. Watching someone else’s family drama in person is better than any broadway show we’ve ever seen.

  6. Senior year at ISU my brother got some from his weed guy. We were planning to go back to our hometown for a weekend with a few of our ISU buddies to hang out with some childhood friends that were going to community college for their gen eds at our local CC in Mason City. Mason City isn't large, but it's the largest town in north central Iowa, and they had rented a house in the shittiest, methiest neighborhood there. We had planned to take the shrooms at their place and just trip out in their house while my brother's then GF baby sat us. Most of us had done them a couple of times, and knew generally what we were getting into. Shrooms, once they take hold, give me a weird social confidence. I'm naturally pretty socially confident, but I just a total kick out of the idea of wandering into society tripping balls and trying to conceal it. So I convince my buddy, who is also tripping, to walk with me up the block to Casey's to get Gatorade. While in Casey's, they kick in completely and I start to lose my shit a little. The store closes in 5 minutes, and I can see the look on the clerk's face. Oh fuck - they know. My buddy telepathically realizes that I know, and starts to freak out a little. We get our Gatorades, pay, and then run out of the Casey's cackling like fucking maniacs. We were so excited, and in the middle of significant visuals that we walked up to a house that wasn't my buddy's and tried to enter. Thank god the front door was locked and we didn't try to push it any further, because in that neighborhood there were either crack heads on the other side of that door, or they were normal people who had guns and were ready to shoot intruding crack heads. Once back to my buddy's, we all go upstairs to look at some stupid swirling light and listen to Tool's 10,000 Days. At some point during Rosetta Stoned, I can see the first timer in the group (the guy whose house we were at) is completely losing his shit, so I make the executive decision that we need to go downstairs and lighten the mood. As we were leaving the upstairs, I get to the landing in the stair well and decide a grand gesture is necessary to mark the passage between one point in the experience and another. So I leap off the landing and jump square onto the old couch in the living room. 200 lbs of flying idiot. The couch collapses in a heap, and my buddy breaks down in tears. Whoops.

  11. This is the third time I’ve seen someone say that Mason Rudolph covered for Yurcich mistakes - but Yurcich coordinated a top 7 offense with Taylor Cornelius at fucking QB. Also - in regards to Gundy discovering him at some shitty DIII school - everyone has to start somewhere. If you’re not related to someone or didn’t play for an FBS program - it’s likely you’re starting at the absolute bottom. I don’t give a shit where he started - he’s coming from Ohio St after a very successful 6 year run at Oklahoma St. He’s going on 4 straight season being a part of top 7 offenses and 5 straight seasons of top 25 offenses.

  12. My wife invited her single friend who has three daughters over for tamales on Christmas Eve. Wife starts drinking at lunch, continues to drink, never takes a nap. I tell her from the beginning, "Uh, you might want to pace yourself. Kim is good people and all, but I don't really want to spend Christmas Eve alone with her." So, my wife is heavily buzzed when they get there, proceeds to drunkenly give some expensive designer jacket out of her closet to one of Kim's daughters, continues drinking and disappears to bed midway through dinner. Kim and I hang out for a bit and shoot the shit -- I kill most of a jug of eggnog she brought over, and then she takes her kids and goes home. Wife wakes up two hours later and bitches me out because, "It's inappropriate for you to be hanging out with Kim alone on Christmas Eve." Then we get into a massive, ridiculous fight that she was too drunk to remember the next day. Merry Christmas!

  18. It’s been a few years, but once when we were in the middle of moving my wife decided she needed to bake a cake for some important reason but couldn’t find the measuring cups since they were packed away somewhere at the time. As a workaround she ended up converting all the measurements to ounces and used a shot glass to measure everything. When she told me I was initially impressed by her ingenuity, however the resulting oil soaked blob that came out the oven proved that she made some errors in her calculations. Its also probably worth noting that she’s a CPA.

  19. I used to love shrooms. I took them once just before arriving at Eeyore's Birthday which was insane. Between the drum ring, the dude wearing a giant eyeball on his head, and the 30 or so dudes on bikes wearing lingerie I wasn't exactly sure what was going on. It was a blast though. I liked them much more than acid because there were some down times in between peaks. I could always feel a peak coming on and adjust my frame of mind accordingly. I also liked how they only lasted about 4 to 6 hours instead of 10 to 12.

  30. No ambivalence for me. Fuck Mack Brown. He proved himself to be a petty, lying, devious asshole, doing his dead level best to fuck the Longhorn Football program on his way out the door. And he did it pretty damn successfully. Had he accepted the loss to Bama for what it was (failure to recruit well, failure to have a backup QB ready to step in), had he done in 2010-2013 what he's done at UNC, he'd probably still be our HC, but he didn't step down, he didn't retool his entire staff, he didn't do a fucking thing except pout and blame his coaches and his players for not being able to do what he wanted to do but didn't know how to coach it. That "killing himself recruiting in FLA" schtick was the last straw for a lot of us. I think I was already past the point of needing a last straw, and so were we all. Unless and until he apologizes, truthfully and sincerely, I say fuck him. Did I mention, Fuck Mack Brown?

  34. I think Christmas has mostly been okay. I worked Christmas Eve and day because I work in a restaurant in mid-town Manhattan. People were mostly nice and you cannot ask for more than that. Spent Christmas Eve night with my girlfriend and her family. It was okay for the most part. They are just really loud, but whatever. Just kind of is part of it when you are amongst Dominicans and Brazilians. They all left to go to Harrisburg for four days. I was good with that. Christmas night was peace and quiet. That is a rarity to get. Might drive out to spend Friday with them, but will see how my mom feels after her flight here from Austin. I might just spend Friday at the model train show at the NY Botanical Garden and then go skate at Bryant Park so my mom can see me skate in-person for the first time. It just depends on how she feels. She's 70 and recently broke her big toe. Combine that with battling leukemia and she can get worn down quickly at times. I really do hope all of y'all are making it through the holidays well and that you have made some lasting memories that are good.

  36. Thus, we are not "aggy" of any sort, so please, never say "Oklahoma aggy" ever again. The word "aggy" is a term of art. It applies solely to the delusional fucks in college station. The ones who jizz in jars out of jealousy of their superior in-state rival and play dress up on the sidelines pretending to be soldiers. The term "aggy" refers to a place that negligently murdered 12 students out of devotion to their "burning hatred" of their superior in-state rival and hid behind sovereign immunity to make sure the facts were never established of their negligence. We have nothing of the sort in our fanbase. We have a faction of delusional assholes who want to fire Gundy and hire some unidentified badass who will bring all the five starts to Stillwater, but this is a small faction dumbass of an otherwise broeadly reasonable fan base. The delusional idiots are literally 98% of aggy fanbase by their own definition (anyone who questions aggy superiority are "2 percenters"). We are Oklahoma State University. The land grant college of a small state with a massive deficiency in our football record against the state's other major university, which cheated for decades to obtain blueblood status which sustains them today. We formerly were the Oklahoma A&M Aggies, which involves a proud history. Yeah, we have generally sucked at football except for a blip in the 40s, and another in the 80's when we tried to cheat like our in-state rivals, and have been well above average for the last 14 years. But we are nothing like aggy. Not even close. The only similarity is that we both were founded as agricultural and mechanical colleges and both have shitty records against our in-state rivals in football. There is literally no comparison in any other way. This might be interpreted as silly and lighthearted, but my hatred is very real. The fake soldiers are bad enough. But the bonfire issue takes it to another level. I am dead serious that we never, ever, ever, be compared to these despicable losers. That is my rant.
