Was pretty blitzed from Friday through yesterday.  Boozing on a boat in 95 degree heat with some unsavory women sounded like a great idea...I think there's enough evidence just from the weekend to do me in.  Much less than what Trump has from running in shady real estate circles for decades, but enough to convince me I'll never ask anyone to vote for me, for anything.

Unlike Trump, I bet you know the difference between HIV and HPV, but aren't personally worried about the distinction.

But Burr acknowledged that the committee would have difficulty forcing Steele to be interviewed. “How do you do that?” Burr told BuzzFeed News. “[He’s] not a US citizen, doesn’t live here..."

having Steele create the dossier was a smooth move.

LOL, exactly.  I guess that's exactly how stupid you have to be to bareback a fucking pornstar on the back end of her career.  JFC

Steele was the station head of MI-6 in Moscow. He is one of the most qualified people on the planet to hire to try to get intelligence on events in Russia.

Pfft.  If I wanted real intel on Russia, I’d hire Commodore Cosmos, Supreme Galactic Commander of Space Force.

Facebook’s disclosures under scrutiny as federal agencies join probe of tech giant’s role in sharing data with Cambridge Analytica

A federal investigation into Facebook’s sharing of data with political consultancy Cambridge Analytica has broadened to focus on the actions and statements of the tech giant and involves three agencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission, according to people familiar with the official inquiries.

Representatives for the FBI, the SEC and the Federal Trade Commission have joined the Justice Department in its inquiries about the two companies and the sharing of personal information of 71 million Americans, suggesting the wide-ranging nature of the investigation, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a probe that remains incomplete.

These people added that the emphasis has been on what Facebook has reported publicly about its sharing of information with Cambridge Analytica, whether those representations square with the underlying facts and whether Facebook made sufficiently complete and timely disclosures to the public and investors about the matter. The Capitol Hill testimony of Facebook officials, including chief executive Mark Zuckerberg, also is being scrutinized as part of the probe, said people familiar with the federal inquiries.

Facebook confirmed that it had received questions from the federal agencies and said it was sharing information and cooperating in other ways. The Justice Department and the other federal agencies declined to comment. The FTC in March disclosed that it was investigating Facebook over possible privacy violations. Cambridge Analytica has closed operations since the scandal erupted, and an inquiry to its press office was returned as undeliverable.

The New York Times previously reported that the Justice Department was investigating Cambridge Analytica, a political consultancy that worked for President Trump and other Republican candidates. But the extent of federal investigation into the actions and statements of Facebook itself has not previously been revealed.

In the belly of the beast (Oklahoma) visiting relatives.

And FNC was on this evening.  Muted, but on.

And Good Ole Tucker was on.

And judging by the main banner hanging over the feed of his guests, they were discussing why Mueller didn’t go after Saudi Arabia after 9/11.

Tomorrow’s Shitter Tweet?

I didn't realize Robert Mueller was president on 9/11.

Or that he allowed Saudi royals to quietly leave the country when everybody else was grounded.

edit: According to twitter, it turns out Mueller protected the Saudi government from being sued so that the Saudis would help with invading Iraq.  All that’s missing is a discussion of when steel beams melt, and how Building 7 already had charges planted before the attack.

Robert Mueller killed Vince Foster.

Hillary was going to, but Mueller put his hand on the pistol and told her “you’re not that guy”.

Hillary walked away, and Mueller placed the pistol inside of Vince’s mouth, looked him in the eyes, and said “I am that guy.”

I wonder if Mueller ever thinks to himself, "I'll never finish this b/c there are too many crooked assholes in DC"?

The George RR Martin of investigators, IMO. We all figured out the ending so now he has to get more side-stories to keep us excited through the last few chapters

Mueller hires more prosecutors as Russia probe moves forward: report

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is reportedly hiring additional prosecutors to work on the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Several current and former U.S. officials said Mueller is adding prosecutors from U.S. attorney's offices and the Justice Department headquarters, Bloomberg reportedThursday.

Officials added that this could be a sign that Mueller is prepared to step away from the probe and leave it in the hands of a larger team of prosecutors, officials said.

Mueller's team, currently composed of 17 federal prosecutors, is handling a large amount of casework associated with the year-long investigation into Russian meddling and possible collusion with the Trump campaign.

More money is being directed toward the Justice Department's permanent investigations rather than Mueller's temporary probe, according to recent expense statements.

Mueller's team spent $7.7 million from May 2017 through March 2018. The Justice Department has spent $9 million through the same timeframe.

The Washington Post reported late last month that several additional Mueller team members were specifically assigned to the indictments of 13 Russian nationals.

Those cases are expected to continue long after the probe into Trump campaign collusion is finished, according to the report.

Mueller has already handed off the investigation into Michael Cohen, Trump's longtime personal lawyer, Bloomberg reported.

Investigators in the Southern District of New York are investigating Cohen for possible bank fraud and campaign finance violations.

The special counsel has already issued 20 indictments and secured five guilty pleas from individuals.

One of the most notable defendants is former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, whom Mueller hit with a superseding indictment last month.

Manafort and his longtime aide Konstantin Kilimnik were accused of trying to coach or prevent two witnesses from testifying.

A federal judge revoked Manafort's bail and sent him to jail in June.

He is charged with multiple financial crimes, including obstruction of justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice.

The allegations came from Mueller's investigation. Manafort has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

His trial is set to begin later this month.

Soloman Wisenberg, a former deputy independent counsel who investigated President Bill Clinton, told Bloomberg that Manafort's trial will require "all hands on deck."

"Paul Manafort is being kept in solitary confinement in order to "guarantee his safety," his lawyer said in court documents filed this week.
"He is locked in his cell for at least 23 hours per day (excluding visits from his attorneys)."

Excluding visits from his attorneys  - and investigators ?

Suppose Manafort has a change of heart and decides to cooperate and that cooperation would need to be kept strictly under wraps for now.  Solitary confinement would allow for the comings and goings of certain individuals and amount of time spent talking to be kept a much, much tighter secret.  By comparison, it seems like the general prison population is a sieve for information about visitors and amount of time spent outside of a cell and for what purposes.
