Ok, Pat.

I had to scroll enough to read the caption without seeing the pic. Looks like my vomit after ramen dinner and too much bookers. Then you read about the eggs and you realize someone just ate too many deviled eggs and shit in a bowl. Fucking gagged. Legit gagged.

That's definitely prettiest "spread" I've seen.  That dude is an artist.

They must have blanched those peas, look how green they are. During our last move I gave away some of the historical cookbooks I had inherited. They featured a lot of aspics and such. I kept a few of the 'church lady' potluck recipes that showed promise. Sometimes out of gelatin and whipped topping and a few other ingredients you can create something quite palatable.

I'm guessing that is a turkey with some sort of unappealing stuffing.

For a moment there I thought it was a starfish caught in the final throes of death:

Lutheran funeral dinners.

So true.  I've been to more than my share of Lutheran funerals in Seguin, TX that prominently featured this delicacy.

My late MIL had a repertoire of casserole recipes that was handed down to me when I got married. The one I put my foot down with my spouse was the corned beef casserole using canned corned beef. I make a nice corned beef (from the butcher not from a can) with carrots, potatoes, and cabbage like the good Lord intended and if I'm putting the leftovers in a casserole, I'm not using canned cream of celery soup or some similar 'cream of' derivative soup.
