I don't know if the recruiting board is a safe space for you. You seem to lack the ability to handle the expected chaos the very process you're witnessing entails. Texas is getting Bryce Anderson. July has always been the month. We've talked about it a bunch here. It's comical to observe grown men who seem to have basic human intelligence witness events unfold according to stated expectations and shit themselves in nervousness as the expected events unfold, nonetheless.16 points

You choke up on the bat. You move up in the box. You lay down a bunt. You (Pierce) have your batter call time to "confer" over signs. You do NOT let a guy like Bednar (sp?) just settle in and work on his terms like he did all fucking night. What we witnessed last night Fletch was coaching malpractice. I don't know how else to put it. Our coaching staff never even gave so much as a glance at that bag of strategical tools and it was sitting right in front of them like an All-U-Can-Eat Chinese Buffet. Infuriating.10 points

In Sark's world, the QB is the decision maker. You come to the LOS, and the defense tells you where the play goes. The receivers see it, the OL sees it, the backs see it, and the QB damned well better see it. When the ball is snapped, the QB confirms what he sees. Did the Safety spin down to help with run support? If so, the X receiver is one on one. Throw skinny and let him go get it. If not, was the box light? If so, give to the RB. The other receivers are options (in Sark's words, start with the deep "TD" option and work back to the LOS). A QB who comes to run is limiting the offense. There will ALWAYS be someone in scoring position in his offense. If the defense wins the play or (gasp) the offense doesn't do its job correctly, then a QB run for positive yards is a consolation prize. It would be viewed as an overall offensive failure, however. The QB's job is to get the ball to the right player on time and on target. Sark's offense is functional by design, and not over reliant on super athletic abilities.9 points

Texas expects Blue to play somewhere this upcoming season. Either the guy needs to make things right somehow with his current school, or he needs to find someone who will take him. Then he needs to be a model team player. That's a very difficult needle to thread for a guy who has been a prima donna his whole career. I believe @SydneyCarton has a father-in-law or some other family member who is close to the Klein area programs and works on one of the staffs. I assume he'll be able to keep us informed on it. The staff watched tape on Jones and didn't see a difference maker, supposedly. Do you guys want them to waste a visit space on someone that they're not going to take as a signable rercuit? TB appears to be a position that will reliably fill the transfer portal with talent on an ongoing basis. I don't know why a school like Texas, with the current TB depth chart, would ever feel the need to reach for a roster filler in this environment.9 points

We went over Spring Break, but a lot of things we wanted to see were still closed. So we had to modify our trip somewhat. Started in Dallas. 17 Mar - Stopped in Hico for late breakfast and to talk about Billy the Kid. On to Burnet, for a brief stop at the airport to take pics with the tanks/airplanes (museum was closed). Marble Falls Whataburger and finally rolled into Fredericksburg. 18 Mar - Up early and at the Museum of the Pacific War, because he's really into WWII right now, but generally for the vibe. A lot of German family of ours passed through here on their way to the upper Brazos (Ballinger area). After that, we had an ice cream, saw the Vierens Kirche, and Chad Jr. played with the local kids while I had to take a work call. Then it was off to San Antonio and The Menger that evening. 19 Mar - The Alamo in the morning. We had been before, but he had just finished reading a Nathan Hale book about Texas History so it was worth a second look while it was all still fresh in our heads. We checked out the bar at the Menger and saw all the Teddy Roosevelt stuff in addition to seeing the Phil Collins (and other stuff). That afternoon, we went to the DoSeum and hung out at the pool, because 8 year olds can only handle so much history. 20 Mar - Up for some early morning photos of the Alamo. Nobody there. On to Presidio La Bahia in Goliad. We spent a while there as the weather was nice and we essentially had the place to ourselves. We saw the monument to the victims of the Goliad massacre as well as Zaragosa's birthplace since they are literally right next to the Presido. I didn't realize that until I was planning the trip. Popped over to the Mission, on the other side of the river from the Presidio. It looked like a really nice park and I could've spent all weekend there. They were having their rodeo that evening, but as much as I would've liked to have done that, we didn't know about it and hadn't budgeted time for it. Can't do it all. We then scooted over to the location of the Battle of Coleto Creek just outside of Fannin. There's not much there, but there is a little museum with a map of where they went over the battle field with a metal detector and it shows where they found all sorts of musket balls and pieces. That was very cool. From there we went up to Gonzales and stopped at their little museum and saw the "Come and Take It" cannon. It's a beautiful building with a lot of interesting history packed in a small place. It's more the general history of the area. It isn't just dedicated to the cannon. From there, we powered through to Sealy for the night. 21 Mar - We slept in a little, as the previous day was a bit of a whip, and then we were off to San Felipe de Austin. Can't recommend this one enough. After that, we went to Washington-on-the-Brazos and checked out not just the Independence Hall, but hiked the short trail around where the city used to be, the living farm they have there which was great for Chad Jr., and we saw the museum of the Republic there as well. Altogether that took up most of the afternoon. Then we powered through back to Dallas. A bit of a whirlwind, but it was a bit from the hip as some of our other Spring Break plans had fallen through. Overall, a success though. Would recommend.7 points

On an unrelated note to the absolute abortion of an offensive performance we saw last night for 8 innings, Ty Madden was phenomenal and featured a 3rd pitch last night for the first time I believe. Forgot what inning but he threw a 2-seamer last night at 87.6 points

I mean, come on guys. What are you comparing it to? The prospects we are pursuing at the top of the board are national recruits. Did you really think Evan Stewart or Kelvin Banks were going to shut it down this weekend? That’s a failure of expectations, not a failure of the staff.6 points

I'm really getting tired of nut jobs coopting cool revolutionary flags. First the 3 percenters and the Betsy Ross flag (kind of, and yes, I know it wasn't a thing until much later), then the Gadsden Flag, and now this. If they try the Bunker Hill Flag, I may just lose my mind.5 points

I was listening to the most recent Bill Simmons podcast and in discussing game 7 between the Bucks and Nets he started listing other game 7s that went to OT. That discussion caused him to reference the 2006 game 7 of the Mavs/Spurs series where he brought up his book of basketball podcast series and called it the best series of rhe decade. So of course I had to go back and listen to that episode. Fucking A!! I'd forgotten how exciting that win was to me. Despite or the eventual theft that took place in the finals that win over the Spurs still rates highly for me. Anyways it's a good listen if you're interested.5 points
