It's here again bitches. This month there is mother fucking college football and while this is normally slow season we at least have some entertainment in realignment to keep us occupied until the season begins. My favorite thread every year is time to go... All times Central and the bold are my scheduled viewing... Week 0- Saturday August 28: Nebraska at Illinois 12:00 pm FOX (cable) / FOX Video Hawaii at UCLA 2:30 pm ESPN / ESPN Video Eastern Illinois at Indiana State 5:00 pm TBA Alcorn vs. NC Central 6:00 pm ESPN / ESPN Video UConn at Fresno State TBA CBSSN / CBS Video UTEP at New Mexico State 8:30 pm Bally Spots / $Flo Video Southern Utah at San Jose State 9:00 pm CBSSN / CBS Video It'll be weird to see Nebby start the season @ Illinois for college football. Both teams are expected to be fairly bad, so this might be the only time I watch either team other than that glorious 11AM matchup for NU/OU. Hawaii will score 35 on UCLA but UCLA will score 52 and that should be fun. UConn @ Fresno should be an interesting matchup that you don't see too often. UTEP @ New Mexico State are both terrible but it's a rivalry even if it's a bigger basketball rivalry. We've had worse 0 weeks. Week 1- Wednesday September 1: UAB vs. Jacksonville State (Montgomery, AL)6:30pm ESPN / ESPN Video Better than nothing and a regional rivalry where both schools have had great success at their level. I really enjoy watching Bill Clark at UAB so I'm interested to see what level they're at this year. It's college football on tv. Thursday September 2: Temple at Rutgers 5:30 pm BTN / FOX Video Boise State at UCF 6:00 pm ESPN / ESPN Video Appalachian State vs. East Carolina (Charlotte, NC) 6:30 pm ESPNU / ESPN Video South Florida at NC State 6:30 pm ACC Network / / ESPN Video Bowling Green at Tennessee 7:00 pm SEC Network / ESPN Video Ohio State at Minnesota 7:00 pm FOX (cable) / FOX Video Eastern Washington at UNLV 9:00 pm FSN / Stadium (affiliates) / FSGo Video Southern Utah at Arizona State 9:30 pm Pac-12 / Pac-12 Video Weber State at Utah TBA Pac-12 / Pac-12 Video Great set for the first Thursday with a rivalry in Temple @ Rutgers and then a future Big 12 battle between Boise @ UCF looks to be a blast and game of the night. I'm interesting in seeing how ECU is progressing and Appalachian State @ ECU will be a great uniform game with some good scoring. The BigTen game will probably be a blow out, but row the boat is always a wildcard. I guess y'all can watch Tennessee against one of the worst FBS teams there is to scout your future UT nemesis. Friday September 3- North Carolina at Virginia Tech 5:00 pm ESPN / ESPN Video Duke at Charlotte 6:00 pm CBSSN / CBS Video Old Dominion at Wake Forest 6:00 pm ACC Network / ESPN Video Michigan State at Northwestern 8:00 pm ESPN / ESPN Video Northern Colorado at Colorado 8:00 pm Pac-12 / Pac-12 Video South Dakota State at Colorado State 8:00 pm FS1 / FSGo Games online only or not scheduled for nationally available networks. South Dakota at Kansas 7:00 pm $espn+ Video Fun little Friday with two good games and then a Big 12 showing where KU will probably lose to South Dakota. UNC @ VaTech is going to be a great one and I know Northwestern wants revenge on Michigan State for their upset over them last year. Damn good opening Friday, but I have to admit if they could have Colorado vs Colorado State instead of those FCS games it would be a bit better. Saturday September 4- Army at Georgia State 11:00 am ESPNU / ESPN Video Colgate at Boston College 11:00 am ACC Network / / ESPN Video Fordham at Nebraska 11:00 am BTN / FOX Video Holy Cross at UConn 11:00 am CBSSN / CBS Video Kansas State vs. Stanford (in Arlington) 11:00 am FS1 / FSGo Louisiana Monroe at Kentucky 11:00 am SEC Network / ESPN Video Oklahoma at Tulane 11:00 am ABC (cable) / espn3 Video Penn State at Wisconsin 11:00 am FOX (cable) / FOX Video Western Michigan at Michigan 11:00 am ESPN / ESPN Video Fresno State at Oregon 1:00 pm Pac-12 / Pac-12 Video Lafayette at Air Force 1:00 pm FSN / Stadium (affiliates) / FSGo Video Alabama vs. Miami (Atlanta) 2:30 pm ABC (cable) / espn3 Video Indiana at Iowa 2:30 pm BTN / FOX Video Marshall at Navy 2:30 pm CBSSN / CBS Video West Virginia at Maryland 2:30 pm ESPN / ESPN Video Central Michigan at Missouri 3:00 pm SEC Network / ESPN Video Louisiana Tech at Mississippi State 3:00 pm ESPNU / ESPN Video UMass at Pittsburgh 3:00 pm ACC Network / / ESPN Video Louisiana Lafayette at Texas 3:30 pm FOX (cable) / FOX Video San Jose State at USC 4:00 pm Pac-12 / Pac-12 Video Oregon State at Purdue 6:00 pm FS1 / FSGo Syracuse at Ohio 6:00 pm CBSSN / CBS Video Texas Tech at Houston 6:00 pm ESPN / ESPN Video Clemson vs. Georgia (Charlotte, NC) 6:30 pm ABC (cable) / espn3 Video Florida Atlantic at Florida 6:30 pm SEC Network / ESPN Video Northern Illinois at Georgia Tech 6:30 pm ACC Network / / ESPN Video UTSA at Illinois 6:30 pm BTN / FOX Video Kent State at Texas A&M 7:00 pm ESPNU / ESPN Video Montana at Washington 7:00 pm Pac-12 / Pac-12 Video LSU at UCLA 7:30 pm FOX (cable) / FOX Video Arizona vs. BYU (Las Vegas) 9:30 pm ESPN / ESPN Video Nevada at California 9:30 pm FS1 / FSGo New Mexico State at San Diego State 9:30 pm CBSSN / CBS Video Utah State at Washington State 10:00 pm Pac-12 / Pac-12 Video I'll be at the Baylor @ Texas State game so I'll miss most of what looks to be one of the best opening Saturdays we've seen in a long time outside of what I can watch at the tailgate. There are just a plethora of great games. We're going to need about 5 screens at any given time with this schedule. Usually on the opening Saturday you're struggling at the 2:30 mark to find a decent game, but every time slot is full of fantastic games. Sunday, September 5th- Florida A&M vs. Jackson State 2:00 pm ESPN2 / ESPN Video Grambling vs. Tennessee State 3:00 pm TBA Cramton Bowl: Fort Valley State vs. Tuskegee 6:00 pm ESPNU / ESPN Video Notre Dame at Florida State 6:30 pm ABC (cable) / espn3 Video Early game is Prime Time coaching against FAMU so we have to see how that is going and Notre Dame @ FSU needs no introduction. Monday, September 6th- Louisville vs. Ole Miss (Atlanta)7:00 pmESPN / ESPN Video Hell yeah why the fuck not TL;DR- It's fucking football time http://www.lsufootball.net/tvschedule.htm18 points

Well, good for you. When I was a kid, if you wanted sweet tea in Texas in a restaurant you had to add the sugar yourself. Unlike the South, presweetened tea was not a thing in the overwhelming majority of restaurants in Texas. That has changed over time. And sweet tea is shit.15 points

You cannot convince them because they are brainwashed. Science doesn't work. Begging doesn't work. Shaming doesn't work. Seeing your own chest x-ray prior to intubation doesn't work. I don't know what will. No covered ICU beds in central Austin as of 7:15AM this morning. 🙃14 points

This pup is completely insane, but damn, she's cute... On the subject of shitty pet owners, we got her from a rescue. She was in rescue because a couple bought her from some people who were selling puppies outside a coffee shop in Austin -- they made an impulse purchase, and then got her home and realized there was no way they could have a puppy... they both work, they don't have a fenced yard, etc. Good news is that the neighbors' dog seems to be a good friend.13 points

Get fucked, the only "confusion" here is you intentionally misunderstanding things. I appreciate that Homer, but I'm not trying to actually talk to, or argue with known liar and troll GRHorn. I'm doing it for people who don't recognize his posting style that have fallen for his lies under his previous accounts. Disinformation and lies are getting people killed and he's been the single biggest purveyor of them on this board for years by a large margin. He's been banned multiple times for lying and comes right back as a new account. He'll be back with a new one now that he's admitted this is yet one more of his socks. He's either a professional troll, or has a serious and untreated psychological problem, that causes him to pathologically seek out and spread disinformation while people are dying. Either way, the results are the same. I'm not at all ashamed to say I am fucking pissed about it. Unlike GRHorn, many of us have known each other for going on 20 years, some longer. I may disagree with a lot of you, but I care about you motherfuckers and I want to see you healthy and happy. If you didn't join this board a few years ago, exclusively to troll and derail conversations like GRHorn, and you have good faith questions about the vaccine, ask them. Then, please go get vaccinated.12 points

Eh, in my experience fit is extremely important in professional and personal development. Patton has to make the decision based on what he feels is the best fit for him, not what’s the best fit for any of us. Odds are if he felt Baylor was the best fit for him, he wouldn’t have been very successful here. This isn’t a bags dropping situation where someone chose a place in spite of personal fit or choice. Could he have made a poor decision? Sure, but we won’t have to play him, so good luck to the young man.11 points

As a former gymnast I can say that what Simone was dealing with is not a depression thing but more of a "oh shit none of this feels natural anymore" thing. For me, it was only for one event but i was never the same on that apparatus. Was just fucking around doing reverse giants, peeled, flew off the high bar at about a 40 degree angle, flew past the mats and broke my arm. Highbar went from one of my best events to my worst overnight. I broke 2 arms skating and had no problem going back on rails after both of them, but in those instances i knew what went wrong. Just flying off the bar completely unexpectedly fucked my head up when it came to anything involving reverse or mixed gripped moves.10 points

If you aren't vaccinated, please consider who you are listening to that has gotten you to this point. Virtually every person on this board with graduate level scientific or medical training is telling you the same thing. You see a lot of frustration in our responses, but that's because we actually do care whether you live, or die and we care about the people around you too. If you have good faith questions, ask them, get those concerns addressed and get vaccinated. If not, please shut the fuck up right now. A bunch of Americans are about to die because of disinformation, at least have the decency to keep your ignorance to yourself and don't try to get someone else on this board killed too. You have smart motherfuckers on this board who care about you that want you to live. Don't listen to Texags, please get vaccinated.10 points

So bottom line... The GOP protection fo the really fucking rabid (but maybe normally sort of reasonably smart) has helped accelerate BOTH the transmission and mutation of the coronavirus. If you watch Fox news or get your info from facebook stop reading now... And go fuck yourself. And double, triple and quadruple fuck our Governor, Greg Abbot, who simply decided that a certain size stack of bodies was worth distracting from his disaster of GOP designed NOT RELIABLE electrical grid. Just one in my fucking life I wish the GOP actually addressed and solved a PROBLEM!!!! So the spread and variants continue with the BLESSING of our Governor, because he thinks it might help him get elected. The GOP is mainly focused on two things now. Trying to change the votes of voters to the minority view. And protecting the really, really fucking stupid, that won't get vaxed and will not wear masks. Basically the MOST important thing, is to make the really dumb tha vote Republican not feel bad.... as they endlessly infect others.. Dead people are not important to our governor, only his next term. What a fucking scumbag! Anyhow my life is shit right now. House is destroyed from 24,000 gallons of water being dumped into the house while on vacation. And, now my NEED to dine out is gonna get fucked next. But what's important in Texas? No mask mandates, and making sure the stupid folks aren't made to feel bad for being fucking stupid and prolonging the Pandemic. I remember when republican politics were not completely based on falsehoods, and there was a chance a GOP president would win an election with more votes than the other guy. (none of you remember this unless you were voting in 1980... and that's fucking sad).9 points

Thing is... Going out of your way to ignore the broader context and instigating factors to our terrible COVID response, you're not avoiding politics, you're providing cover and glossing over the maladministration of our COVID response. Our problems with vaccine hesitancy and crackpot treatments are straight from the trump admin press desk and from trump's own lips. Sorry it makes you uncomfortable that hundreds of thousands of Americans died otherwise preventable deaths if they hadn't had so many lies whispered in their ears by the trump-right.9 points

In Gainesville you could buy Old Mil long necks for .88 a six-pack. At the ATO house we had a coke machine that sold them for a quarter. Getting shit faced playing Spades while waiting for the DG sloots social to start in an hour - and sending a pledge with a quarter to bring me a cold one will be one of my happy nursing home memories.8 points

Jesus fucking Christ. Both prior infection and vaccination confer some level of protection against delta infection. Further, vaccines are associated with a strong reduction in delta severe disease and mortality. It's reasonable that prior infection would be associated with a reduction in mortality associated with delta as well, but I don't that has been pinned down. I would not rely solely on the Israeli data either way in the discussion. We know that a single vax dose elicits a robust response in previously infected. All the data to date suggests that the vaccines are extremely safe. A healthy person that has recovered from COVID should get at least one mRNA shot, preferably two, to boost their immunity in light of delta. Why wouldn't you want your immune system taking on the most robust posture to fight off a re-infection? Further there are good reasons for people vaxxed with JNJ to top up with an mRNA booster, and good reasons for certain high risk segments to get a 3rd shot, imo. Basically, mRNA shots for errrbody. Hopefully delta is the last major wave, but there are a few additional mutations that could be combined with delta to theoretically make the ubervariant.8 points

As a psychologist I have been working with people dealing with depression for 20+ years. It's a real disease. It doesn't go away through willpower. Fuck Tim Crowder up the goat ass for spreading this bullshit nonsense. It's not only dishonest and inaccurate, it's dangerous to people who are dealing with depression. I don't know anything about Tim Crowder's history with what he calls depression. But if he says he kicked it because he stopped "believing in it," then he didn't have depression.8 points
