  1. I remember Surly telling me that Elko was recruiting nothing but three stars and that they would suck this year. We on the other hand lost to one of the worst conference teams on our schedule and have not played a full four quarters of a game in over two years. Sark was clearly asleep at the switch as it relates to this year’s roster and being out coached is becoming a trend. Everyone can choose to not believe that there is smoke around his personal life but I’ve heard it as well going back to last year. I don’t know if any of it is true because I haven’t seen it. But, I do know that people who have a connection to the university either by substantial donation status or it is where they get their paycheck are saying it. If it’s not true, or not based upon some kernel of truth, why are they saying it? I always ask myself when I hear a leak of something what is the motivation for the leak? Here, I don’t have an answer for it. Maybe it’s just our own brand of dysfunction. But, even when his neighbors are saying things about what they observed, I wonder if he’s not distracted. Putting all that aside, I know what I have seen with my own eyes. Inconsistent and undisciplined play. Poor preparation and lack of adjustments in game. A terrible OL this year which is choking the life out of the season. Not having a run game which has put a ton more pressure on a young but talented QB to be a hero at all times. I’m not one of those people who think he ought to go undefeated every year. But, I do think with his resources he should win the games he is supposed to and be competitive in the rest. Our staff did not have our team ready to play coming off of both bye weeks this year. That’s inexcusable. They were embarrassed by the Georgia staff on Saturday. Even with our OL issues, the talent disparity was not that great against Georgia. We played like shit. Our game plan was shit. Our play calling was shit as well as our decision to allow them to pick us apart with soft defensive coverage. I don’t know if it is true, but ESPN reported the day before the game that Sark had only practiced two days last week and that he had given the team a lot of time off. A good portion of our defense was at the basketball game on Wednesday night. Maybe they deserved a break, or maybe they could have been looking at film. Who knows? They sure didn’t play like a team that had time to kill. I fully believe that we should beat A&M. But, I don’t think deep down that we will because I have no faith that this staff will put our team in a position to win. I also have no faith that our head coach can focus up and see things as they are instead of how he may want them to be. Honestly, when was the last game where you felt like we came out and played a full four quarters where we looked good from start to finish against an opponent with a pulse? For myself, I can’t remember. Maybe some of yours is better than mine.

  4. It’s funny cuz I met a bunch of Surlies in real life. all my pals. I am not trying to date one, I have a BF and he is like an honorary surly. As far as attention I will never live down my non-sober years, and have been sober since 4/24/22. Drinking was my vice. I do gummies now and then and occasional pre-roll. I destroyed some of my life back then. I root for sark. In this regard as a person. He also has enormous talent. And his demons have gotten in the way in the past at other places and that is not a rumor that is a fact. He sued USC when they fired him for being drunk saying he had a disability and they didn’t help him. All facts. all of this a matter of public record and it is not in dispute. I have heard from multiple people that I trust that he has NOT conquered his demons here at Texas whatsoever. This season and his slap dick approach to the offseason as well coincides with other places he has worked and had β€œissues.” He’s not a choir boy. He met L’Oreal before he was divorced. A good friend of mine who’s known her well over a decade advised her not to chase him at the time. He was married. She did anyway. All facts. No matter whether the rumors about L’OrΓ©al or Sark are being unfaithful to each other outside their marriage multiple names have been brought up on both sides and some connected to our fucking team. Does that sound professional and or winning a MNC to you? If you do not think the above has any bearing on our win loss record or recruiting or evaluating talent cool. That fine. But I think if you also knew with your own eyes this shit to be true you would absolutely agree it has an affect on everything that a HC would do. It’s not about someone who drinks this is someone who considers himself a recovering alcoholic in his own words and he cannot drink. And when he does he loses his jobs. In the past. no one has to believe any of the above ever at all. It’s been told to you so you don’t get blindsided if major changes are made and he is gone or he stays and major changes are forced on his ass. That’s the reality. Like it or don’t like it your choice.

  6. MTG and Boebert are on my card if I ever get dropped into a bar brawl backed by two house reps. (Sorry Dems, y'all just wanna talk.) With these two women I'm guaranteed a win-- Boebert goes Feral Corpse Rat droppin to all fours and biting chunks outta shins, shakin her head and growlin, givin my pansy ass the safe opportunity to throw some cheap-shot throat punches. As more come at us I just turtle up until I hear MTG go into hulk mode, then gtf outta the way as she crashes past. Maybe open a beer and watch, then clock anybody on the back of the head who tries to get up. Stay down, fool, stay down. Meanwhile halfway across the wrecked room Boebert's still got those rat incisors going like fava beans and a nice Chianti sa sa sa, and MTG in her red rage has got her mitts on two kegs putting those Orangutan back muscles to work. Victory is inevitable but the danger is not over-- until the red mist leaves their minds, they are likely to turn on friend or foe. Best to throw a box of donuts out in the parking lot and ring the dinner bell,

  7. Texas loses by 25 (4 scores) and it isn't a blowout and the last touchdown from Georgia is not in garbage time or to run up the score it was with *check notes* 4:43 left IN THE FUCKING GAME. So not only did Texas have a shot to score more than 10 points with 5ish minutes left to go, they did jack shit and then gave the ball back with 2:26 to go. Didn't use clock, didn't use time outs, didn't do shit right. They got BLOWN. THE. FUCK. OUT.

  11. wait, except they didn't and then it was a blowout. It wasn't a 14-10 game with Texas ever having the ball. Texas NEVER HAD THE FUCKING BALL AFTER BEING DOWN A FULL TOUCHDOWN TEXAS NEVER HAD THE BALL NOT DOWN 2 COMPLETE SCORES TEXAS NEVER HAD A CHANCE TO MAKE IT A TIE GAME. It was not close, it was a complete and smooth assfucking. Getting within 4, never getting the ball back and then getting your shit pushed in when it matters is exactly what a fucking blowout looks like you idiot. Georgia wasn't scoring in garbage time, they were scoring in PRIME game time.

  12. Its, uh pretty fucking good? Again it wasn't like georgia was covering the receivers so well and defending passes. It was crazy drops. It wasn't like Georgia shut down the run, sark completely abandoned it. The skill players are fine, the OL leaves much to be desired, and the TE are not as strong as our NFL starters that left. The offense is held back by penalties, stone hands, and general lack of scheme, not personnel. The defensive performance was inexcusable - the soft zone coverages against georgia were really stupid and the blown plays were all wtf.

  23. The reason we've lost since 2023 has been Sark missing on evaluations. Period. In 2023 we had no pass rush. Sure we could shut down anyone's running game but if you just didn't waste downs trying to run on us you could throw it all over the lot. The two games we lost, OU and Washington, we got one sack. One. Penix and Gabriel dropped back a combined 76 times. One Sack. We came back and fixed the pass rush by adding Simmons. The other issue is we missed wildly on O-line and RB. Our interior O-line has been a problem since Sark got here. I don't give a shit if we sent linemen to the league, the truth is in the film. We cannot combo block and climb to the second level. Someone is always getting defeated. Always. Whenever we tried to run inside zone it just ended up resulting in a pile in the middle for the back to run into. Sark found a little something with outside zone and split zone, but as soon as we played a disciplined front with some wiggle they blew that shit up. See Ohio State, Georgia, and Arizona State. Our running backs are a miss too. Watching Baugh from Florida set up his own lanes was frustrating. He would set an aim point, and then redirect when the LBs committed. We get none of that from everyone not named Wisner, and he is lacking in the speed/power dept. Then on the off chance we do get a run bounced outside, we get holding calls. That leaves our QBs to play hero ball in big games and is precisely why we keep losing to the top 5. YOU CANNOT be one dimensional in those games and win them, and that's what we've been the last couple years. It was the same way with Quinn last year. He outplayed the opposing QB in all 3 games and still lost. The area we keep losing in is running game. If you look at the 6 losses we had the last two years, plus the ASU game we should've lost. We got outrushed 908 to 412.

  26. I think it's hilarious how we skipped the spring game, had a light fall camp, rested tons of players during the season that could have played.... so we could have a healthy roster for the.... Alamo Bowl. If only we'd had physical practices like other programs to prepare this team for the grind and physicality of this conference. This is one of the softest teams I've seen at Texas in a while relative to the talent level. Also most undisciplined Texas team I have seen in my 20+ years of watching Texas football.

For Steve Sarkisian, for Loreal, for his children and all his family. If they are, I want it known I would be the first in line to sponsor him, suggest a sponsor in Austin or support whatever treatment path he chooses. That is all I have to say about that aspect of all this.

Reminds me of when I read Collapse by Jared Diamond and he's talking about environmental degradation in Montanan and points out that it's ridiculous to assume Anaconda was going to protect the environment and how people were shocked when they poisoned the groundwater. That's not their job. Of course a corporation is going to bribe a law maker if it's legal. That's like asking a hyena not to eat an injured antelope. It's the job of the body politic to set a regulatory environment that provides guardrails. If you don't want the hyena to eat the antelope: shoot the hyena or save the antelope. But the hyena is just behaving as hyenas behave.
