i don't know shit about some of this shit, but maybe someone can help me with this bit of intrigue:

is it more interesting what's disclosed in this plea deal, or are we more interested in confessed crimes that are not in this plea deal?

There are at least five investigations wrapped in this. Most people are interested in the Trump angles but the more significant story is the alliance between the dirty Russian money and the big American players like the Mercers/Facebook/NRA/GOP.

I’m more interested in that stuff because exposing it gives us, the American people, the information needed to better defend ourselves from future attacks.

Unfortunately, most of us see this only as “Stupid Watergate”. Which it is but that’s only a side show when compared to the massive coordinated attack on American democracy orchestrated by the Kremlin and U.S. confederates.  The was an act of cyber warfare that’s not going to end anytime soon.

This guy is an Alderman in Chicago. This raid could be about 1,027 things.

it could be.

but it happened on the morning of this cohen plea deal, which expressly has to do with trump business dealings with russia.

they know there is something in there, and they are going in to find it.

they know, because cohen told mueller what it is and where to find it.

that's my guess.

The problem with surrounding yourself with weak yes-men who will bow down before you cuz you’re a big dog...is that sometimes, a bigger dog comes along.
Weak yes-men are bad company.

But...

The problem with surrounding yourself with ambitious dogs is that sooner or later they'll be looking to take you out and take that you have.

The moral is if you're going to be a criminal fuck like trump no matter who you surround yourself with they'll either flip on you or try to kill you.

“Irreconcilable differences” have led to countless divorces. Now, the same reason is being given for the breakup of President Donald Trump and Ald. Edward M. Burke (14th).

The powerful Chicago alderman’s small law firm had worked for Trump for 12 years, persuading Cook County officials to cut the property taxes on the president’s namesake downtown skyscraper by a total of more than $14 million.

But Burke announced his breakup with Trump in letters filed last month with the Cook County courts and the Illinois State Property Tax Appeal Board. He wrote that “irreconcilable differences” have led his firm to stop representing Trump’s company and step aside in five current cases that seek refunds of millions of dollars in property taxes the president’s company has paid.

isn't that interesting.

The real problem is Trump is an enormous POS that no one respects except weak ass yes-men.

They view Trump only as a quick meal ticket.

Trump surrounded himself with these scoundrels because he didn’t have a choice.

The Frankfurt headquarters of Deutsche Bank have been raided by prosecutors in a money laundering investigation.

Germany's public prosecutor alleged that two staff members have helped clients launder money from criminal activities.

Police cars were seen outside the tower blocks that house the headquarters of Germany's biggest bank.

Five other Deutsche offices in the city were searched in an operation involving about 170 police and officials.

Prosecutors are looking into whether Deutsche Bank staff helped clients set up offshore accounts to "transfer money from criminal activities".

The investigation, which began in August, focuses on activities between 2013 and the start of 2018.

In 2016 alone, more than 900 customers were served by a Deutsche Bank subsidiary registered in the British Virgin Islands, generating a volume of €311m, the prosecutors allege.

The investigation was sparked by revelations in the 2016 "Panama Papers" - an enormous amount of information leaked from a Panamanian law firm called Mossack Fonseca.

so, the panama papers?

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-35954224

Quote

What are the Panama Papers?
The files show how Mossack Fonseca clients were able to launder money, dodge sanctions and avoid tax.

In one case, the company offered an American millionaire fake ownership records to hide money from the authorities. This is in direct breach of international regulations designed to stop money laundering and tax evasion.

It is the biggest leak in history, dwarfing the data released by the Wikileaks organisation in 2010. For context, if the amount of data released by Wikileaks was equivalent to the population of San Francisco, the amount of data released in the Panama Papers is the equivalent to that of India.

You can find our special report on the revelations here.

Quote

Who is in the papers?
There are links to 12 current or former heads of state and government in the data, including dictators accused of looting their own countries.

More than 60 relatives and associates of heads of state and other politicians are also implicated.

The files also reveal a suspected billion-dollar money laundering ring involving close associates of Russia's President, Vladimir Putin.

that last sentence, i added the emphasis.

This.

Again, I've picked up the pieces/fought over the results of numerous organizational/institutional failures.  Guys like Trump - and the orbit that he creates - aren't unique.  They are relatively common, and the whole setup is very predictable.

And yes, they always, EVENTUALLY, fall.  The problem is, the damage they do in the interim is often incalculable, and frequently unrecoverable.  The institution is irrevocably damaged.

Oh, and this is one issue on which I agree with Hugo.  The criminal enterprise that is being investigated here is rather enormous.  It's much bigger than Trump/Mueller.  That's just the U.S. aspect of the global enterprise.

Do we know to what degree Mueller's team has been cooperating with other nations' law enforcement?

The simultaneous events look like a worldwide round up of suspects. If that's true, it's amazing that such a large operation wouldn't have more leaks and be more influenced by the wealthy targets.

Are we about to see a worldwide scandal where only Putin is safe and laughing at the chaos?

Putin won't be laughing when he and his cronies lose a shitload of money and property they have stashed outside of Russia.  They all have huge nest eggs outside of Russia for when/if things go south at home because none of them actually trust each other deep down.  That's what will be targeted by governments around the globe.

The decision of President Trump’s former longtime lawyer Michael Cohen to plead guilty to multiple fraud charges and campaign finance law violations reportedly came after a conversation he had with his father earlier this year, who said he did not survive the Holocaust to have his name "sullied" by Trump.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday that a person familiar with the conversation said the exchange prompted Cohen, who once said he would “take a bullet” for the president, to break with Trump.

Maurice Cohen, a Polish Holocaust survivor, reportedly urged his son not to protect Trump and said that he did not survive the Holocaust to have his name “sullied” by the president, a person familiar with the conversation told the Journal.

6/9 The Alderman breaks with Trump

6/13 Cohen breaks up with his legal team

6/14 WSJ reports on the fees Cohen received from Novartis and others.

Correction: article states that Burke’s breakup was filed in the previous month, so in May.

At some point, the shit is going to be coming down from Mueller really fast...

I don’t know if we’re there yet but we could be.

A while back I predicted we’d get a lot of information around the time of the Michael Flynn sentencing.

Remember Michael Flynn?
