Gerry rank the OL we're in on, now that Neto, Sexton, Williams, and Agbo seem like real possibilities (Dewberry might not be, but we'll include him)

OT/G
Neto
Banks
Sexton
Dewberry
Cam Williams
Agbo

OG/C
Campbell
Hutson
Robertson

So best case scenario right now is probably a Banks-Campbell-Hutson-Neto-Sexton class, with Williams as the hopeful OT/G guard contingency, and Robertson the backup plan at center

Agbo seems low on that list. I wonder if Gerry’s seen him in person. His weight seems a bit of a concern, but if he can keep that in check I’d have him third or fourth on that list. Definitely above Williams and Dewberry.

Williams has better length, Agbo moves better (if he loses the bad weight). Williams probably has a better chance at sticking at right tackle, especially since Flood seems to like mountains at RT

Yeah I could definitely see Agbo ending up inside. I just have a hard time feeling good about a prospect that’s already 360+ in high school. Gonna have to get used to it though, because Flood likes massive Tackles with good reach.

Spoiler

The Longhorns will host 2022 wide receiver Andre Greene (6’3″ 175) out of Richmond, VA. this weekend for an unofficial visit.

Greene is a talented east-coast receiver who is taking in the sights in the region as he visited OU yesterday and will hit College Station later this week and then Austin on Saturday.

Sources on our OU side tell us Greene and his family seem very open to the idea of Andre leaving the east coast and are looking for the best fit for him no matter where that may be.

Yeah, Neal isn’t really a good example because he’s a physical freak that anyone would take. A guy like George is a better signal of Flood’s preference.

The Athletic: National recruiting big board: The 10 most impactful uncommitted 2022 prospects

Relevant Bits:

Quote

1. CB Denver Harris

The particulars: Five-star prospect from Houston (Texas) North Shore
Ranking: No. 6 overall, No. 3 cornerback (247Sports Composite)

The buzz: The elite-level cornerback is expected to officially visit four programs this month: Texas, Alabama, Texas A&M and LSU. Alabama has done very well in the state of Texas in recent years — and that success has no doubt hurt some of the top teams in the Big 12 — and, you guessed it, Nick Saban has his program firmly in the mix for Harris. Add LSU, which recruits the Houston area very well, and you have plenty of SEC flavor in this recruitment. Harris, however, is atop the big board at Texas and Texas A&M, so how this recruitment plays out will be pivotal for both in-state programs.

Last month’s ranking: 1

8. WR Evan Stewart

The particulars: Five-star prospect from Frisco (Texas) Liberty
Ranking: No. 34 overall, No. 3 wide receiver

The buzz: Stewart once felt like he had everything figured out when he committed to Texas on Feb. 18. But that pledge lasted less than a month, as he decommitted from the Longhorns on March 11. Texas, however, has remained firmly in the mix for this Dallas-area standout and will get an official visit June 11. Stewart is also visiting Georgia on June 18 and Texas A&M on June 24. A Texas-Texas A&M battle for an elite-level prospect in Dallas is always worth the price of admission, especially when there are other national recruiting powers in the mix.

National recruiting big board: The 10 most impactful uncommitted 2022 prospects

MosesWalker1-e1622648643321.jpg
By Ari Wasserman Jun 2, 2021 comment-icon@2x.png 28 save-icon@2x.png

It’s June, so we all know what that means. Five-star J.T. Tuimoloau of Sammamish (Wash.) Eastside Catholic, the lone (noteworthy) holdover from the 2021 recruiting class who didn’t sign in February, is finally allowed to take visits. The talented defensive lineman will make stops at Washington, USC, Ohio State, Oregon and Alabama before announcing his destination.

Tuimolau’s looming decision should make for a lot of drama. But the truth is all eyes have been on the 2022 recruiting class for months. So here is the fifth edition of our 2022 big board, following the May edition.

This is a list of whom we consider the most “impactful” uncommitted prospects. “Impactful” can mean a lot of things, from importance to a specific school, a big regional recruit, a trendsetter or simply a prospect who has an interesting recruitment. As players commit and the landscape changes, this list will change, too.

Let’s continue with the June edition of the national recruiting big board.

2. LB Moses Walker

The particulars: Four-star prospect from Brooklyn (N.Y.) Erasmus Hall
Ranking: No. 137 overall, No. 16 linebacker

The buzz: If you haven’t been paying close attention to what Greg Schiano is building in the 2022 class at Rutgers, here’s a quick reminder: The Scarlet Knights have picked up monumental commitments from four-star quarterback Gavin Wimsatt of Owensboro (Ky.) High and four-star offensive tackle Jacob Allen of Princeton (N.J.) Hun School, the top-rated player in New Jersey. Rutgers is also very much in play for Walker, who would be yet another legitimizing piece for the program’s future. It has been a struggle for the Scarlet Knights since they joined the Big Ten, but Schiano is amassing the type of talent the program needs to turn things around. Walker could be yet another piece to get nonbelievers to believe.

Last month’s ranking: NR

3. OT Josh Conerly Jr.

The particulars: Five-star prospect from Seattle (Wash.) Rainier Beach
Ranking: No. 15 overall, No. 2 offensive tackle

The buzz: This recruitment seems like it is going to play out deep into the fall because Conerly released a top 12 on May 11 that consisted of Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, California, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, Stanford, Texas, UCLA, USC and Washington. Through video calls with coaches, many recruits have been able to cut their lists to five schools — which coincides with the number of official visits they can take — but Conerly seems like he has a much longer way to go. Even so, Washington was one of those 12 schools he listed, and it is imperative that Jimmy Lake finds a way to fend off the Alabamas of the world and keep this top-tier Seattle prospect home. Washington fans are tired of reading about how the Huskies lost five-star receiver Emeka Egbuka of Steilacoom (Wash.) High (and will most likely lose Tuimoloau) in the 2021 cycle, and nothing can heal that pain more than making things right with Conerly in the 2022 class. But if you look at which programs this offensive tackle is still considering, it sure isn’t going to be easy, even if Washington has the home-field advantage.

Last month’s ranking: 5

4. DE Dani Dennis-Sutton

The particulars: Four-star prospect from Owings Mills (Md.) McDonogh School
Ranking: No. 70 overall, No. 12 defensive lineman

The buzz: Penn State’s 2022 class already has 11 commitments — five from in-state prospects — and ranks No. 6 nationally. Dennis-Sutton is one of the top remaining targets on the Nittany Lions’ board, and though he isn’t an in-state prospect, he lives in a territory that has been traditionally important for the Nittany Lions. The good news? Penn State is getting an official visit this month. The bad? He’s also scheduled to visit Alabama and Georgia. The worst news? Ohio State has recently offered, and the Buckeyes have been the bane of Penn State’s existence, especially in Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas. James Franklin is known as a top-notch recruiter, and this class is important for Penn State to move on from its handful of misses in the 2021 cycle. Dennis-Sutton is a huge piece to that.

Last month’s ranking: 9

5. RB Gavin Sawchuk

The particulars: Four-star prospect from Littleton (Colo.) Valor Christian
Ranking: No. 42 overall, No. 2 running back

The buzz: There were very few misses on the offensive side of the ball in Oklahoma’s 2021 class after Lincoln Riley inked five-star quarterback Caleb Williams and a handful of other elite-level prospects. Oklahoma’s offense should be as entertaining as ever in the next few years. But there is one nagging “what-if” Sooners fans have had to come to terms with since February. That’s because five-star running back Camar Wheaton of Garland (Texas) Centennial decided to sign with Alabama at the last minute after Oklahoma led the way for the majority of the 2021 cycle. The good news for Oklahoma is it has a chance to grab a top-50 running back in the 2022 class by signing Sawchuk, who is also considering Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Stanford. And the Sooners seem to be leading the way as visits ramp up.

Last month’s ranking: 4

6. DT Walter Nolen

The particulars: Five-star prospect from Cordova (Tenn.) St. Benedict at Auburndale
Ranking: No. 2 overall, No. 1 defensive tackle

The buzz: Maybe it would be an assumption for any coach or recruiting staffer to think taking a job at Tennessee would lead to some big recruiting heights. It’s an SEC program with a ton of tradition, loyal fans and pretty solid geography. But Josh Heupel and his staff are finding out the hard way that things aren’t easy right now. If this recruitment happened in 2003, Nolen likely would have just walked over to Tennessee and joined the team, but recruiting is far more national these days. And in Nolen’s case, teams such as Florida, Michigan, Alabama, LSU and Ohio State are all very much involved, and Tennessee, well, isn’t. It is probably a safe assumption that Nolen will wind up picking a place like Alabama or Ohio State — because who doesn’t? — and that is the primary reason he dropped on this list from last month. If Tennessee were actually involved here, you could make the case that Nolen could be No. 1 on this list. But an elite defensive lineman picking Alabama or Ohio State doesn’t quite move the needle as much because that’s just what usually happens.

Last month’s ranking: 2

7. WR Tetairoa McMillan

The particulars: Four-star prospect from Anaheim (Calif.) Servite
Ranking: No. 65 overall, No. 7 wide receiver

The buzz: Nobody can deny how well USC recruited Southern California during the pandemic. In the 2021 cycle, USC signed five-star defensive end Korey Foreman, four-star linebacker Raesjon Davis and four-star cornerback Ceyair Wright, each of whom was the No. 1 player at his position in the state of California. In 2022, USC already has a commitment from five-star prospect Domani Jackson of Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, the No. 4 overall player and the No. 2 cornerback in the country. Jackson, though, is officially visiting Alabama. USC, of course, wants to keep the ball rolling in Southern California with McMillan, but he is also officially visiting Oregon, which is the Trojans’ top competitor to conquer the Pac-12 in the next five years. Arizona recently offered and is trying to get a visit from McMillan, but it doesn’t get better in the Pac-12 than a good, old-fashioned USC vs. Oregon battle for a prospect from SoCal.

Last month’s ranking: 6

Last month’s ranking: 7

9. OLB Daniel Martin

The particulars: Four-star prospect from Marietta (Ga.) High
Ranking: No. 144 overall, No. 18 linebacker

The buzz: Martin has the badge of honor: a rare Clemson offer. And he earned that elusive offer in the middle of the pandemic, which means the kid can play. But Martin isn’t on this list because he has an offer from Clemson or even one from Georgia, his in-state school. He’s on this list because Vanderbilt is firmly in play to land him. This is particularly interesting because Vanderbilt’s new general manager is Barton Simmons, a longtime national recruiting analyst for 247Sports. Simmons has an interesting outlook on recruiting, having been on the media side of things, so watching him operate should be fun. The curveball here, though, is that Simmons has a coveted top-150 player interested enough in Vanderbilt’s rebuild to take an official visit in June.

Last month’s ranking: 10

10. CB Khamauri Rogers

The particulars: Four-star prospect from Lexington (Miss.) Holmes County
Ranking: No. 66 overall, No. 8 cornerback

The buzz: The No. 1 player in the state of Mississippi is four-star running back Branson Robinson of Madison Germantown, and Robinson is scheduled to officially visit Georgia, Clemson, Alabama and Tennessee in June. Rogers is also scheduled to visit Tennessee in June, along with a trip to Miami, but Ole Miss and Mississippi State are in play for the talented cornerback. As things start to open up and visits get underway, things could change, but we have all been waiting for the intense Mike Leach-Lane Kiffin battle. Either way, a top-70 national player in the state of Mississippi is worth tracking for both in-state programs.

Last month’s ranking: 8

Committed from last month’s list: Four-star offensive tackle Jacob Allen to Rutgers. Read more about that commitment here.

Fucking Warehime and Hand. Has there been worse offensive line coaches in school history?

Yes. Tim Nunez and Mac McWhorter rival Warehime and Nunez. Clovis Hale wasn’t any better, either. We’ve had about 4-5 decent years of OL coaching in the last 3 decades.

Anthony Jones not preferring defense probably means he won't be in the class IMO.  Derrick Brown is a must get.  Not many offers out to EDGE guys, and the only other one whose name I've seen mentioned is DJ Wesolak, and that's probably a pipe dream.  Maybe PK makes an offer or two at the camps.

Brad Davis to LSU. Great hire by O and of course a huge loss for Pittman

He certainly is an OL coach. Is he that great of a hire? Doesn't seem to stick anywhere for very long and isn't exactly moving up the coaching ranks.

Pittman is an OL coach by trade. Absolute worst case, I am sure he hasn't forgotten how to coach OL.

Davis and Sam Carter are the two assistants (besides the coordinators) Pittman would lose sleep over trying to replace.
