The aggy (there you go, Mr. Phlegm) pat answers to criticism are all new again to the SEC. The certainty that they are the source of obsession and fear is newly absurd and embarrassing to them in ways they never get.

my favorite is the high school recruit in Texas that does a top 7 or some such bullshit and its Texas, Bama, tOSU, USC, Miami, OU, and.....aggy.  6 teams that have won NC's and played for dozens more, since FDR died, and a team that hasn't sniffed one since. all done so they don't have to hear shit from their high school friends.

"We already out recruit them..."

aggy never misses a chance to take a sample size of 1, largely misinterpret it, and call it a trend - provided that it favors aggy. (They've "out recruited" UT this cycle to the tune of being ranked a few spots higher with a negligible difference in average player rating.)

They had the #5 strength of schedule last year.  But #41 the year before.

The only people that compare to aggy are the North Koreans.  I spent the worst 2 years of my life on the DMZ and part of my duties was monitoring NK propaganda.  Like aggy they are isolated, xenophobic, regimented and think that everything worthwhile comes from their tribal group.  Relentless propaganda produces a truly awesome degree of groupthink.  Both groups pretend amity with a small circle ("fraternal socialist allies" or SEC) but only as a means to further demean and demonize the rest of the world.

In reality, both groups will do anything at all to advance themselves, no matter how dirty.  See aggy-SEC recruiting and the torrent of lies out of that place.  The NKs are the biggest counterfeiters on the planet and a major source of synthetic drugs as well as supplier of missile tech to Iran.

I just watched a great video, about the Bonehead Bowl. You guys heard of this? 1983, Cal at A&M, Cal kicks a 25-yd FG to go ahead 20-17 with about one minute to go, but A&M runs into the kicker-- it's unclear because you can't see it and the Aggie announcers are fuckwits who can't even tell if the FG is good. Anyway, Cal for some inexplicable reason takes the go-ahead score off the board in order to try to convert the 4th down.

Seriously. Instead of leading 20-17 with one minute to go, they try for a TD. And they don't get it, so A&M takes over inside its 5 yard line. Of course, it's clear the Aggies want to take the tie,  so they're just going to run some dive type plays, but on their second play they run a slow-developing toss sweep and Cal snuffs it for a game-winning safety.

hahaha

I would pay large sums of money to hear Dave South's call of those final minutes.

I assume he was doing his thing in '83.

The headline of that game the next day had to be "Dumb and Dumber".

So I was reading this thread last night and I saw the above post Machinator that shared with us.  The thing that struck me was Leon Phelps' incorrect claim that they put more players in the NFL than we do.

That boastful aggy statement encapsulates the difference between them and us.

Look at how many former Longhorns are in the NBA.  It's not a source of pride.  It's a source of regret that we don't have any championships to show for it.

But since the concept of a championship is so foreign to them, their lack of championships doesn't even faze them... at all.   That's stunning.  And sad.

I'm gonna need bout tree fiddy...DM me for payment details!

1 - You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.  Tree fiddy is in the mail.

2 - The shittastic music in that video is annoying as hell.

3 - They done aggy'd that up, real good.

4 - Dave South was disappointingly reasonable.  Makes me miss his later years where he was just a cartoon.

5 - The text card at the end of the video is so aggy, referring to the amazing success they had in the following years, but not a word about the cheating factory Jackie Sherrill ran.

To aggy nfl stands for nekkid frog lickers. And they do indeed contribute more playars to that nfl.

"unprecedented sucess" meaning OU got megafucked for the end of Switzer and UT ended up wandering the desert post-Akers.

So congrats aggy, literally the only sustained period where both OU and Texas were down programs and you compiled 6/10 conference championships and... (checks bowl record)... 2 Cotton Bowl wins, a holiday bowl win, and 5 bowl losses.

They did, sort of, get an opportunity to play for an MNC against ND in 1992, proceeded to get ass-blasted 28-3, then technically went undefeated in 1994 but... whoops! You were on probation so no conference title and no bowl game. (oh - and get this - aggy's only non-win in 1994 was a tie to a fucking 1 win SMU team. 1 win against New Mexico, 1 tie against "undefeated" aggy, nine awful fucking losses)

If your first "undefeated season" since WW2 (at least) ended without a conference championship and no bowl game you might be aggy.

They cheated. That's all you really need to know. They started cheating in earnest in reaction to Ron Meyer making the jump to lightspeed at SMU in the late 70s because Aggies are perpetually itching for an excuse to throw around money, and then they kept on cheating even after multiple NCAA probations. A&M came close to getting a death penalty of its own thanks to George Smith, but the Aggies were for once quick enough on the upshot that they figured that it might be possible to buy off a mercenary scumbag. Again. So they paid him to say "oh man no, never mind, all that stuff I said about A&M cheating, that... I meant to say that's NOT what happened".

Any time an Aggie says anything about what they won in the 80s and early-90s dying SWC, there's the answer for them. Dirty, unethical, cheats. Interestingly, even though RC Slocum was ON the staffs that got TAMU into serious NCAA trouble, Aggies believe that once he was promoted to Head Foo'ball Coach, all the cheating dried up, instantaneously and miraculously, because RC was just that kind of dude.

Yeah, ask RC’s ex-wife about cheating.
