Dumbass Shit We See On Facebook

Question for Vic and those who are big on facebook daily. Like a year or two ago, all the illiterate and poor and the worst of facebook were posting about Herbalife and other MLM's, do they not do that anymore or are yall just bored of making fun of that particular vertical of poor/stupid people humor?
If they've stopped, a funny gambit would be to post on their wall (if you can do that) and say "hey what happened to the $10k a month you were making from selling Travel or whatever, why are you still living in a studio apartment in Irving?" and seeing the responses.
They have bought into the latest MLM scheme of buying/selling "patriotic" shirts on Facebook and not delivering. The answer was the next post after yours.

WTH? Multiply the two nos and add the first. No way that is what you wrote is it?

math talk not going away.  since the 2nd number is always the 1st number (n) plus 3, you can write it:

(n*(n+3))+n --> n^2 +4n

n^2 +4n (for n= 1,2,3...)

n=1 --> 1*1 + 4*1 = 5

n=2 --> 2*2 + 4*2 = 12

n=3 --> 3*3 + 4*3 = 21

Problem is, those are not the "equations" used in the problem.

You have

1 + 4 = 5 (this one is the same as the FB problem)

4 + 8 = 12 (not the same)

9 + 12 = 21 (not the same)

I think you messed up by trying to apply proper math to a stupid FB meme when reality has no place in this sort of discussion.

The correct answer as originally stated is '34'.

Take the result of the previous line, add the two numbers on the LHS of the equation on the next line to get the answer

i.e.

5 + 2 + 5 = 12

12 + 3 + 6 = 21

21 + 5 + 8 = 34

QED
