IMO it is coordination. Clark has the most coordination in the league by a mile. The way she plays looks familiar to most NBA fans. Sure she is not Gary Bird but it is the first time you are seeing such a high level of play that is also visually appealing to mainstream basketball fans.

yeah fans like her. why you mad? imagine nba fans being seething mad that non-nba fans said they don’t watch basketball but they’ll tune in to watch steph curry.

What this reminds me of is when you run across fans of some obscure band that wound up going mainstream. They got millions of new fans because more people were exposed to this cool music, but the original fans look at these new fans of the band, as well as the band itself, of being sellouts.

I am going to watch because of Clark and if I can catch Bueckers when she has nationally televised games. Luckily I work with a woman who was a baller back in Palau and she represented her country on the court. We talk about a lot of players and she opens me up to the ones she really likes which is pretty cool. Clark is still why I watch, but knowing more from someone that played ball and loves the WNBA is cool.

You sure have a lot of fierce opinions for somebody who doesn't watch and doesn't care.

Oh when the fuck did I say I didn't watch nor care?

You must have me confused for a clark only fan or some casual fan...I'm a Wings Fan. I like to watch Paige and I like to watch Indiana(not just due to clark, i like Boston, and Mitchell, and Sophie too).

I'm NOT the one you can come at over that BS.  YOU are the bad kind of WNBA fan...not me.

I think it would be awesome if 2K26 let her morph into a grizzly bear anytime she goes on a mebounding spree in the game.

She'd make more money playing over seas year round than she would wasting time in the WNBA.

I think the big question is would sponsors follow her, or would she pick up overseas sponsors to offset the loss.  If it happened, I can already see the same players that hate her now accusing her of being selfish and abandoning the league.

No they would not.   And all these fans that just love her would not subscribe whatever streaming service to watch her games.   The games would be on 8 AM in the US or some other crazy time.   I wish people who keep saying this would use their brain.

WNBA players are so ungrateful.  It's appalling.

Somewhat cold shooting but came up clutch in the 4th. And reaggravated an injury.

Time for the Fever to call the season a wash and sit her until/unless they make the playoffs. Let the league live without the golden goose and let her get healthy.

A smart league would start from scratch with new refs and get away from the “hockey on a hard court” mentality.

Hence why I said or would overseas sponsors step in and fill the gap.  If certain overseas leagues can pay more than the WNBA and are presumably self supporting (unlike some leagues, cough cough) then there's obviously some base fan interest a sponsor might find appealing.
