Yeah, there's a difference between loading up full scholarships and still satisfying Title IX.  That said, I am all on board with adding women's gymnastics.  Finding the space might be tricky, but we shit dollars, we could figure something out.

Is that why beach volleyball happened, or will we need to add gymnastics or something else to balance out those new scholarships?

It's been discussed before.

There has been talk of the school adding women's gymnastics and lacrosse.

Doesn’t OU use Lloyd Noble Center? We couldn’t use Moody?

The issue is that we don't own Moody. We would have to negotiate for the usage needs.

Probably doable, but not automatic.

1. That’s as pretty of a roster Texas has had in a long time.

2. Love the current ratio of RHP:LHP. We’ve been missing having a plethora of lefty arms for quite some time.

Let’s hope this young team can put it all together on a consistent basis.

I wonder if volleyball would be OK with the university putting a brand new gymnastics program in Moody?

Why wouldn’t they be? CDC said in his town hall they have plans to build a mini-Moody for volleyball that UT Athletics owns, since they only rent Gregory Gym and can’t make wholesale changes

It's kind of a shame that they can't wrestle Gregory away from Rec Sports. It has so much atmosphere for volleyball.

I'll add this addendum...

This honestly isn’t far off from what he would have gotten last year if he signed. The soft numbers I heard were 500-700k.

Just goes to show how teams still bet on the arm talent and potential even if the results are lagging.

Where does he play in the field? That boy is a unit.

His profile says IF. So I’m guessing 1B/DH

1B likely. A much needed lefty. Elite slugging and over 1 bb/game.

R: Galvan, Schuessler, Flores, Gaspo, Mendoza, Borba

L: Max, Stewart, Winfield

Can someone explain baseball recruiting. How does a coach figure out who to offer given that ~2-7 players may get drafted and never show up? If they dedicate a space to those guys, it means they probably pass up guys on the next layer down. Because those guys will have committed somewhere else, forcing Texas to drop to the third layer or lower to pick up guys to fill the slots opened by drafted players. Or, do they just over sign, knowing that those guys aren’t likely to show up? But why go to that trouble? If they do show up now you have too many players.

Over-sign, some programs to larger extents than others. Pierce would always cut a few per year or they'd show up needing TJ or something and would move on to a juco.

Last assessment had us at 41. Add latest transfer, 42. Limit is 40. Maybe more transfers/freshmen signees to come, fall injuries/cuts will get the number down to 40.

3B is really the only true competition I see on the position player side now. Borba and Rodriguez the two frontrunners with maybe an outside shot of Sam Richardson sneaking in if he can really hit.

Whoever loses that battle is in line for DH AB's along with Schuessler.
