Candice Owens, Charles Kirk Philly incident

She didn’t believe the Scientific American stat because the website was a .com website.

Seriously WTF??! Yet because she’s a black person on your side, conservatives/repblicans are eating this shit up.

As someone who teaching public speaking at the college level, no you don’t automatically dismiss .com websites when it comes to evidence and research.

Then, the court, said, lawmakers restricted all of these voting options, and further narrowed the list of acceptable voter IDs. “… [W]ith race data in hand, the legislature amended the bill to exclude many of the alternative photo IDs used by African Americans. As amended, the bill retained only the kinds of IDs that white North Carolinians were more likely to possess.”

The state offered little justification for the law, the court said. Those who defended the law said they were doing so to prevent voter fraud. “Although the new provisions target African Americans with almost surgical precision, they constitute inapt remedies for the problems assertedly justifying them and, in fact, impose cures for problems that did not exist,” the court said.

It added: “We can only conclude that the North Carolina General Assembly enacted the challenged provisions of the law with discriminatory intent.”

Brilliant.

I think the antifa disruption was uncalled for and not conducive to public discourse.

I'd never heard of Candace Owens. After looking her up and watching the Rogan video, I conclude she is a despicable political shill who has found a way to turn a buck by being a pretty parrot of a different color.

The op's hysteria is absurd, but he has made himself irrelevant to conversation that aspires to be conversational.

Idiot World metastasizes. It becomes the world.

Here's the modern standard for right-wing violence.

While I do think RomaVicta's post is spot on, my only comment is that the left has more to lose by engaging in boorish behavior than the right.  I'm not going to get into my reasoning for why that is, but I truly think that is the way it is.

And therefore the left should take special care in refraining from such conduct.

No one should stand back from being physically assaulted, left or right, but the left needs to take special care not to taunt or threaten anyone.

Just the way it is.

What she is doing now is a solid grift:  a minority not just with conservative values, but a minority who lashes out and pretends to resent every other minority who has different experiences than herself.  It's the same as Milo lambasting gays while consistently ending up with a dick in his mouth.  Currently it's a commodity.  They're pushed and supported to send out racist and biased opinions because they think their race and sexuality provides them an infallible cover to be openly bigoted.  There's decent money available to anyone who fits the description and willing to regurgitate a handful of simple bullet points.  The whole shtick is to complain about how people on the left condescend minorities by telling them how to feel while they condescend minorities and tell them how they think they should feel.  It works because hypocrisy or reality doesn't matter anymore and it brings some people comfort to hear a dark person say how nothing sinister has ever happened to black people in the history of the entire country.  A black lesbian Muslim right now who'd be willing to do this could hit a triple seven jackpot.

The thing that stands out about Owens, though, is how useless she is as a speaker when she ventures beyond reciting basic themes and generalized talking points.  I've never heard her use three consecutive sentences without using "like" and "literally" at least  twelve times.  She's a dullard.  If you just listened to audio of her talking, she's indistinguishable from a drunk cheerleader from North Dallas with blond hair and blue eyes.

Candace was a lib blogger in 2016.

Quote

One story, “The Problem With Humanism and All Lives Matter,” made the case why the counter–Black Lives Matter slogan was misguided. Another story begged Caitlyn Jenner to reconsider her support for Ted Cruz—who, the author claimed, wouldn’t be a good advocate for transgender people. And a self-explanatory story is called “Your Issues With Dating Shorter Men Are Misogynistic.”

Seems like she's made a savvy business decision with her rebranding.

I feel the same way about the Fuck Trump chant that has sprung up. It's facile and adolescent. DeNiro saying it with gravity at the Tonys was, I think, a poor moment.

We may be too idealistic about our idiocracy. Fuck you, man is not far from becoming a pithy remark.

Can we just pin this bitch on the top of this board? It would work for about 99% of the threads and the multiple pages of bitching back and forth that goes on.

It's also exactly what those in power on both sides want as it keeps them in office and the paper rolling in.

Because the right has the media empire to weaponize anything the left does that appears out of line or uppity.  The OP is a perfect example of making a story out of what amounts to some people on the left being mean to people they disagree with, which isn’t okay but it’s not newsworthy.

They brow beat liberals as the real threat to America while ignoring the very real rise of right wing extremist violence.

The left has nothing compared to the influence operation power of Fox News, Breitbart, Daily Caller, Gateway Pundit.

So you agree with me.  The cost benefit analysis for the Left is that they should take extra pains not engage in this kind of behavior?

"The Left launched a war on police officers to secure the black vote."

If you have to use hyperbole to illustrate your point, you likely don't have one. It's like punching yourself in the face as soon as the bell rings. It says "Hey everyone! Check out this chasm between my perception and reality!"

You might want to bring this up to Democratic members of Congress the next time there is a vote on tax cuts, health care, gun control, funding for abortions, or any other political issue they disagree with Republicans on.  If all the millions of people who were supposed to have died when these pieces of legislation pass actually died there would be no one left to vote on anything.

Bullshit---Twitter, Facebook, Google, and YouTube alone put anything the right has media wise to shame.

And nevermind the deliciously ironic fact that Twitter, Facebook, Google, etc., are PLATFORMS....which provide a platform for....wait for it....Fox News, Breitbart, Daily Caller, and Gateway Pundit.  Seriously, the primary places that those outlets exist and publish their stuff are EXACTLY the ones that EMA claims are leftist equivalents.  Jesus, if I tried to create a sock of utter stupidity, I'd still fall short of of what EMA manages to do just on raw, natural talent.

Maybe, but there's a reason George Will or Sean Hannity or literally hundreds of millions of other conservatives haven't been banned from those places.  I'm no expert, but maybe doing dumb shit an shit like calling every 4th of July, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Secretary's Day the beginning of the Next Civil War got a little tired.

Sure they are,  they are making editorial comments every time they take down or ban conservative comments or commentators or institute algorithms in their search engines that encourage pro-left material to come up and discourage pro-right material from appearing in searches.  How is suspending Candice Owens on Twitter for posting Sarah Jeoung's tweets only with changing the word white to Jewish while at the same time allowing the original tweets to remain without suspending Jeoung not an editorial comment?  Just because they do not call these decisions editorial viewpoints does not mean that isn't what they are.

When exactly was the last time you saw anyone walking around proudly wearing a Timothy McVeigh t-shirt?

That's weak sauce. Yesterday Rush was characterizing Pol Pot as a leftist in some connection to the illusory American libs who hate our country and its white founders. That's no shit. I heard it myself.

So, you feel like Twitter and You Tube are similar to FOX News and the NY Times?

You ever get published or produced on either of those? Was it easy to do so? Is that what they're for?

You engage in sophistry of the dullest kind. Any mild swing at an argument qualifies as valid. You're quite sure we're all idiots who will be awed by your slick configurations of phrases.

But we're like this guy:

2001_a_space_odyssey_event_0_0_1_13.jpg?

Is this ideologue for real?

Right-wingers spent decades calling everything "socialist", and now "socialist" is a label people are happy to openly self-apply
