This is what New Orleans is looking like right now:

We are under flash flood warnings the next three or four days.  We might get 8 to 10 inches every day.   Texas and Louisiana need a rain sharing agreement.  You don’t get enough and we get too much.

Counterpoint: you have more piss and puke on the streets to wash away than we do.  Even God knows that NOLA needs a good powerwashing every now and then.

Look, I’m in favor of science and all, but there’s just some research projects that I’m gonna leave to other people.

Brief hail storm in 78749.  That was odd.

Got a nice shower over my house in GT.

Watched that little storm head straight for the Disch and cause a lightning delay.

Played some drinking games through the delay and learned an important lesson. I’m too old for this shit.

It'll be a while before we have another rain delay at any event.  You see, it's never going to rain again.  And the record-breaking heat this week will quickly negate any benefits the recent rains brought.

Unfortunately you are correct.

Absolutely beautiful right now but someone is gearing up the blast furnace as we speak.

Went out during the pop up shower last nigth. Was talking to one of my kiddos.

Ear bud fell out. Straight into the garden. Sat my ass down and started looking for it in the soft rain.

Never found it. Rain was nice.

We caught the edge of the pop up storm in WilCo last night. North half of the hood got close to golf ball sized hail. We didn't get anything but rain. I wasn't home, but my son said he stood on the front porch and could hear the hail a few streets over. Crazy.

I got golf ball sized hail in 2 storms 6 weeks apart a couple years ago. That was fun.

I mean, that is the one weekend that seems to be the exception around here.

Yup. Coming up on the 10 year anniversary of that shit-fest in Wimberly. And fuck, how was that 10 years ago?

Was the '81 Memorial Day flood kind of localized to Central TX, or did it affect a broad area of Texas? I was just a kid, but I remember being in Victoria that summer and it rained so much we had to change rooms at the hotel my family was staying in (first floor rooms near the pool were getting water inside).

Victoria on Memorial Day? Your parents must’ve been rich.

Well Victoria IS the Greatest Little Secret In Texas, or so bumper stickers told me at the time.

But sadly this wasn't a pleasure trip, in '81 my fam was moving to Victoria and we had to stay in a hotel for a few days before the house was ready.

From NB I could see clouds like that to the north (which were moving NE) and to the south (which were moving NE) ... nice light show that I knew we wouldn't see a drop from.

Good call.  Hopefully Lake Buchanan, and maybe Lake Travis get some help.

Lake LBJ definitely getting good rain now that started at 1am.  Earlier tonight around 9:30pm SW towards Blanco area, the lightening show was amazing...
