Can’t get over the fact that an obviously anti-Semitic conspiracy theory (and one that is a staple among Eastrern European fascists) is conservative orthodoxy now.

I think we need Orca of peace to come back and argue about how Jews should support the GOP because of Israel, which is apparently the only thing anyone of Jewish descent cares about according to the right wing.

And I'm not sure why you can't get over it.  The Trump right wing conspiracy theories are legion.  And they have to put those Jews (and Muslims, Mexicans, blacks, gays, women) in their rightful place.  This is all their mo.

I just looked it up on Snopes -- the photo that is used to prove Soros was a young Nazi is actually a photo of a different kid.  He served at Auschwitz.  Unbelievable.  "Look at that Jew nose!  It's Soros!!!".

Some of you still really think Ford went through all that (along with a few other accusers) just to lie because of team politics? Just come out and say you're supporting this no matter what even if he's a sexual assaulter, quit bullshitting us.

I think the million dollars she got from her gofundme in a single day and her book deal were pretty big incentives.

I think it's pretty telling that none of her family was there to support her.  Instead she was surrounded by political activists and her "beach friend" that just so happened to be a retired FBI agent.  It's my understanding that the woman who she claims was there is claiming that that same FBI agent has been pressuring her to change her story.

This shit turned into a farce the day that democrats openly said they would oppose anyone that Trump nominated.  Why the hell should republicans not believe they were telling the truth?

Why wouldn't they oppose anyone that Trump nominated? Mitch McConnell guaranteed that is what would happen in February 2016.

She didn't have to prove it, she just had to be credible enough to convince people she had been sexually assaulted.

She did that.

"credible" seems to be a confusing word to some.  To the left it apparently means "there is an allegation I wish to be true" so the victim is credible.  No rational thinking person believed her story was credible based solely on her saying it happened which is the only evidence we have that the event happened.  She became not credible when no one she said was a witness to the event to corroborate her claims.  Not wanting Kavanaugh on the SC doesn't make her claim credible.  Having maybe one person back up her story would lend some credence.  Maybe calling the cops when this alleged assault happened, filing a police report, maybe telling your friends, parents, etc about the incident would have lent credence. she has none of that.  NOt one shred of anything to back up her claim.  Her story was "he assaulted me after I had exactly one beer, but I cannot tell you when, where, how, or any other details, nor will I let you see my notes I made on this."  She did lots of things throughout this ordeal.  Be a "credible" victim is not one of those things.  And I am one who doesn't give a shit about Kavanaugh one way or another.  I'm one who is still very upset that Merrick Garland was not awarded a hearing and a vote.  I am not displeased that the more information that comes out seems to point to the left doing more corrupt shit that has become their calling card.  Trying to get people to change their testimony, or ahem "clarify" it in order to try and make this claim have some credibility.  this whole event is embarrassing on so many levels for both parties.

A lot of rational thinking people found her story credible.

Most people in this country, in fact.

Or she's absolutely flying fucking psychotic bitch.  You don't forget every fucking detail, have your story rebutted by every person you claim was there (including your "best friend) and wait 36+ years to come forward unless you are looking to take someone out.

trauma victims don't remember everything.  if she knew everything that's probably evidence she's a liar.  and the story wasn't rebutted by every person, so you're a liar.

They didn't rebut her story. They said they didn't remember. Those are two very different things.

the ability to discern between a refutation of a story and a "can't remember" is something i'd expect of a JP sitting in North Bumblefuck, Texas, let alone a sitting federal judge and supreme court nominee.

@David Dennison Already replied, but if you just need to lie under oath to get a million dollars then where was Garland's fake accuser? This is complete BS too, she seriously came forward because she knew she'd get a huge amount of money in a GoFundMe? BTW McConnell vowed to oppose Obama all the way a few years ago, I hope like hell you got just as triggered when  you heard that.

a lot of rational people believed that Jesus rose from the dead. 2000 years later an ungodly amount of people still believe it, based on no evidence.

Some quickly counted numbers from page 307 on this balanced, non echo chamber forum:

  • From anti Kavanaugh posters:  43 posts receiving 30 up votes and 1 down vote
  • From pro Kavanaugh posters:  7 posts receiving  8 up votes and 4 down votes

This phenomenon is happening all across the internet.  We are forming insulated pods to reinforce what we want to believe and to vilify the other side.

Not to mention, why was there no "fake accuser" for Gorsuch?

EDIT: Just saw you mentioned that.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have to admit that when the other two people ford says were in the room deny it happened, well that seems like case closed. I don't see why judge and kav have any reason to lie about it.

Spare me with anti-Semitic crap when it comes to Soros. He doesn’t identify as a Jew and his ethnicity is not mentioned by me or anyone else here when discussing one of the most evil men in the world. Plenty of Jews hate him too including my friend greggym.

A bit off topic at this point, but am I the only one who had never heard the term Devil's Triangle before this?  I know of a devil's threesome, is that supposed to be the same thing? Has anyone here referred to a devil's threesome as a devil's triangle?

I always heard it as The Devil's Three-Way, but it was obvious what Devil's Triangle meant.  It's also the Eiffel Tower if you're positioned correctly.

LOL at Flake.  What a little bitch.  What is the point of making it a deal when nothing was going to change?  He said if Kavanaugh lied he won't get his vote.  Kavanaugh demostrably lied about lots of things.  He should have just said "if there is a video of the rape and assuming Brett's mother was in the room and can identify him today under oath I'll vote against him.  Otherwise, Heil Trump."

They're ignoring all the studies and victims of trauma who are speaking out saying they don't remember everything because it doesn't fit their narrative. IF she did remember everything, like date, location, time, then they would dig out all the studies showing that victims don't remember that many details.

So, here's a thought experiment.

What happens if Democrats take control of government, a conservative Supreme Court starts ruling against progressive legislation (let's say Medicare for All), and the government just ignores the Court and institutes it anyway?

You mean sort of like what DOTUS administration is doing with the court order to re-unite kids with their parents?

She did that.

Here's the problem with our country:

Everyone who wanted her to be credible found her credible. Truth be damned.

Everyone who wanted her to be incredible found her incredible. Truth be damned.

Everyone who wanted the truth is damned to be governed by the above two groups.
