"don't worry about what Seattle is doing"

We still pimping this or what? Probably need to start worrying about them and Tex if you aren't. We are on a one way trip to Cabo

If Altuve was the great team leader he's supposed to be, he would tell Espada to put him in the bottom of the lineup until he remembers how to hit again.

I've seen enough bad baseball in the past two months to last me a lifetime. I know some fans are trying to wish it all away and think we'll "turn it on" any day now, but seems to me we're only getting worse. Thankful for Texas football and volleyball in the near term.

The Royals and Indians are also in that worry range.

i hope the pitching staff took notes, that's how a #1 throws in sept

But I was told that Cintron helped fix Correa.

While we’re killing time, Jim Crane’s on his third marriage. Whitney Wheeler Crane. He’s 71. She’s 55. Supposedly, there is a prenup. Wife number two walked away with $30 million.

Was she the woman in 2017, or was that wife #2?

Man… as much as I hope it happens. Nothing seems to indicate this team has the talent or grit to do so. (Please please please please prove me wrong Stros!)

3 weeks?

Pretty sure we need to find some fire in the next 3 days.

That 6 game stretch against the Rangers and mariners would well sink any chances of a post season given how we’ve been playing after the [checks notes] All star break.

never give up the ship ....

Carlos Correa: “Two weeks and some change left. It’s urgent. We have to play better baseball. That’s the beauty of this sport, it turns around in just one day. We have to find that day, and that day has to be soon.”

“Seattle Took It Away”

(Verse 1)
I’m sittin’ here watchin’ the jukebox glow,
Nothin’ but heartache on the radio.
We had the lead, thought the crown was ours,
Now I’m drownin’ my sorrows in a smoky bar.

(Chorus)
Seattle took it away, on a cold, gray night,
Left Houston cryin’ ‘neath the Daikan lights.
One more round for the games we let slip,
As October dreams fade with each whiskey sip.

(Verse 2)
I still see Altuve swingin’ so proud,
Yordan's fly ball dyin’ out in the crowd.
The bullpen broke, and the bats went cold,
Now it’s Seattle’s story the papers will hold.

(Chorus)
Seattle took it away, on a cold, gray night,
Left Houston cryin’ ‘neath the Daikan lights.
One more round for the games we let slip,
As October dreams fade with each whiskey sip.

(Bridge)
I’ll raise my glass to the years gone by,
To the pennants won and the banners high.
But tonight it feels like the end of the line,
With a broken heart and a bottle of wine.

(Chorus – soft, final)
Seattle took it away, on a cold, gray night,
Left Houston cryin’ ‘neath the Daikan lights.
So pour me another, and let that band play…
‘Cause Seattle took it all away.

(Outro)
Yeah, they took it all away.

If the team miss the playoffs... I guess guys have more time to recover. And we can speculate/hope for staff changes. Crane can stew on missing out on that sweet, sweet playoff revenue and be pissed that the team wasn't built better to accomplish that goal.

Ok Mack “too much winning is bad for the guys” Brown….

but yeah, these are two positive outcomes of such a scenario

There is no fire with this team. Shitty at bats, half hearted base running. No hunger. Almost complacency. I really don’t even sense any joy in them. Something just seems off in the dugout from recent years. I used to watch every inning of every game but I’ve turned the page to football. It’s not the losing, it’s the way they lose. If they don’t care then I don’t care. Maybe I’ll watch again next year. Maybe.

About as good a summation as I've read. I was pretty ambivalent about losing Bregman, Tucker, Verlander and Pressly, despite their career track records. But once Paredes went down, and then Hader, the bubble burst. Maybe we just haven't had enough horses to get it done, though I can't find any excuse for the apparent lack of leadership with this bunch. The veterans have only days left to show they care as much as the fans do.
