Not to derail the thread, but you are leaving out the tourists from College Station.  That's what drives the economic engine that is Muledick, Texas, population 2,739.

I was the opposite.  I was forced to move out of Texas for work.  Got a great offer in DC.  I was shocked that these people spoke English.  Now, I'm not sure I could ever live in Texas. My parents are here, as is a lot of my family, UT, Austin, the Alamo.  BBQ.  Other than that, I'm not sure I miss much

Ok pal. I’m sorry you’re getting worked up. But I do.

Second, I don’t really encounter them. I hear shit on the radio or TV about California, but every person I know in Texas LOVES going there. Some own homes there, some vacation there regularly, etc. Nobody is anti-CA or overly political about it.

I don’t know how saying this is the slightest bit controversial. Just a different perspective.

Oh.  These aren’t acquaintances they’re people from the radio.  Got it

I don't want the Marines there.  They should NOT be deployed in this situation.

However, should CA get the ruling on the restraining order, who in the actual fuck enforces it?

In other news, this domestic deployment of combat equipped troops has so far run up a $134,000,000 tab.

https://apnews.com/article/pentagon-congress-hegseth-signal-hearings-c53cd37c2eae4327dd74e4c717057469

After persistent questioning about the cost of sending National Guard members and Marines to Los Angeles in response to protests over immigration raids, Hegseth turned to his acting comptroller, Bryn Woollacott MacDonnell, who said it would cost $134 million. Hegseth defended Trump’s decision to send the troops, saying they are needed to protect federal agents as they do their jobs.

And he suggested that the use of troops inside the United States will continue to expand.

“I think we’re entering another phase, especially under President Trump with his focus on the homeland, where the National Guard and Reserves become a critical component of how we secure that homeland,” he said.

Any opinion other than total and complete subservient bootlicking is "ON NOES CR!" to the snowflake DT safespace crowd.  This board is reserved for bootlicking and cheering on the cops when they go Fallujah on people inside the United States.

Did you not get the memo?  I think it was circulated at a happy hour.  Or maybe that was an appetizer menu.  I dunno, I was a few Fireman's 4's into things by then.

Sure.  Posting Twitter posts celebrating the cops going Fallujah on people is "news."

Posting anything from anywhere that is contrary to that take is "opinion."

Which is point zero seven (0.07%) percent of the 185 billion allocated for ICE in the proposed budget.

It is the third largest military budget in the world, behind only the regular US military, and China.  Yes, it's materially bigger than Russia.

GpoJhliW0AAnm7p?format=jpg&name=4096x409

To be clear, the US has created a military force that is the third-best funded military on the PLANET, for the purpose of deploying it against people inside its borders.

Oh, and that force is singularly loyal to the POTUS, and is not bound by the restrictions on the military that have long applied to military forces within our constitutional republic.

Yeah, there's nothing to see here.

What nobody accounted for:

Every purported believer in the Second Amendment for the purpose of "we're a line of defense against a tyrannical government" has shown themselves to be a complete liar.  Not that we didn't know all along, but it's good to see it plainly confirmed.

If the armed population that believes in freedom secured by arms isn't at least preparing for/contemplating the systemic failure that will make the use of arms by civilians necessary, they aren't paying attention.

As I've said plenty of times, we should stick with the Rule of Law, because the only alternative is Rule of the Gun, and that's a messy adversarial system.  We should opt against going down that road.  Yet we have a Regime, minions, and sycophantic cultists who seem dead-set on hurtling down that road.  So stupid.
