I watched a clip from training camp and saw they gave Jaydon Blue number 34.  He got several reps and looked good, he showed his burst.

Of course, he looks small out there, but then Deuce Vaughn would get a rep and you remember what small is.

And Deuce has to be gone soon, especially with Schott wanting to give Turpin some carries out of the backfield. Deuce is wasting reps.

One of the troubling things with “media” these days is when some dumbfuck on a podcast makes a provocative take (who knows the veracity) and all the other shitty fake news sites take the alleged “news” or “scoop” and run with it.

Thanks to the internet and platforms like MSN and Yahoo aggregating these stories from sources like Fansided or EssentiallySports or formerly legit companies like Athlon Sports and Sports Illustrated, written usually by fan correspondents or AI, they are now indistinguishable from organizations that hire professionals who work beats and have multiple sources before they report.

So now, there are multiple retellings of the “Blue is Lazy” narrative, enough so Jaydon had to come out and respond to it. A teammate even called it bullshit.

All I know is, Jerry Jones’ grandson was Blue’s former teammate at Texas, and he would have put the kibosh on the pick if Blue was a known problem. And when one of the recent signees (I think it was Rickey Stewart) was asked about watching practice during his recruitment, he spoke of how Tashard Choice told him to, “Watch #23, do what he’s doing,” so Choice loved him.

Blue is kinda a different dude, and had the known issues in high school, but he managed to keep his head on straight for the entirety of his stay in Austin. As a Cowboy fan, I’m hoping that continues and he is utilized in a way that maximizes his skill set. If so, I think he can be a big asset.

Oh Jerry:

Just because we sign him, doesn’t mean we’re going to have him. He was hurt six games last year, seriously,” Jones said on Monday. “I remember signing a player for the highest paid at the position in the league and he got knocked out two-thirds of the year, Dak Prescott, so there’s a lot of things you can think about, just as the player does when you’re thinking about committing and guaranteeing money.”

And..... Micah basically shuts it down.  Rehab only and will be at meetings and such.  I actually respect him for it and it highlights how backwards the Jones' are with their roster retention and salary cap management.  It's tough to really challenge for a championship when you have bottom 5 management and ownership.  They just are so behind everyone else, it's punishing the fanbase.

I’m trying hard to make my shocked face but I can’t.

I have to say the very early returns on Schottenheimer are all positive.  Of course, time will tell, but he's upbeat, he's energetic, he handles himself great in pressers and answering the media.  The updates with shifting and movement on offense were needed.  He's starting to convince me this running back by committee may actually work.

Micah is the mature one in this scenario.  Unfortunately

I have no idea how good Blue is or can be but entrusting almost your entire running game to a 5th round rookie is absolutely insane even in today's world of running back by committee.

it’s a matter of perspective.  in truth, micah’s “situation” is little more than a dangling participle of no pressing concern.  he is under contract for 2025 and should play this season.

well it’s a good thing that’s not the case.  where’d you come up with that?
