Signed through 2027, 20-30 mil per year salary over that time. That's gonna cost something, hopefully not high draft picks. Maybe a player package. Though, maybe the Packers late 1 this year could be worth it if he's really a dawg.

For a 2026 1st rd pick? Lmao. We should be sellers, not buyers. We need to load up on draft picks, not trade them. Front office is dumb as shit, water is wet.

2027 first

What did we give up?   Still gotta address this fucking secondary

2027 1st, 2026 2nd, and Mazi

If they traded their own first round pick it's not good.

Gotta hope they're better next year. All I got.

If they don't' have the worst defense of all time, and a similar offense they'll have a late teens pick at worst.  This year is the one that couldn't get rid of.

At least they did what I asked.  Got a PROVEN player, under 30, who's under contract for this season, and 2 more.  Not a rental, not a short term guy.

Yes I know "draft picks" but those are crap shoots.  I've been preaching to use at least 2nd for legitimate proven players that have shown something rather than hoping injured guy will be something.

But, obviously, if they pick top 10 next year and lost the pick...that's awful.

Let's revisit the 2023 draft, lmao. Fucking junk. This is a common theme, they can't draft worth a shit. Absolute wastes of a 1st and 2nd rd pick. 3rd round has a lot of talent but unfortunately can't stay on the field. Won't really fault them for that. Rd 4-7, ass.

Fucking hell. This has got to be one of the worst drafts in NFL history.

Bust, bust, injuries, out of football, career backup, out of football, career practice squad, career practice squad.

ESPN article said "The 2027 pick going to the Jets will be the better of the Cowboys' two first-round picks that year."

So it's not necessarily the Cowboy's pick. They get the better pick of the two. Lulz. Fucking idiot.

Of course, lol. Cowboys fans are literally the worst fans in existence. I gave up and fell asleep in the third but see he gave up an int late in desperation time so it’s his fault. Not turd with the fumble or J with the fumble or the OL getting beat regularly or (and this one’s important) the worst defense in the league by far getting carved up like soft butter, it’s that Dak sucks. He really should play elsewhere, Jerry will never get him a decent coaching staff or surrounding cast. Schotty is and was worthless and unqualified. Die already Jerry seriously.

Being propped up by stats is why Dak and his contract are in the situation they are in.  The garbagetime INTs count if the garbage time yards and TDs do.

Dak isn't the playmaker his contract says he should be. He never was.  It doesn't mean he sucks, but they're never gonna win shit with him either.

Gonna be fun watching him blossom with another team.

Of all the things in the world that aren't going to happen, this is the most not going to happen.

Comments like this are why Drew wishes the Cowboys traded Dak.

The Cowboys are in this position because they don't know how to build a team for long term success, especially defensively. They are pretty good at drafting good players, but they don't understand how to build a roster.

Maybe we should be asking what criteria Jerry uses for his pics. If you recall, Jones told a reporter that he'd seen Troy Aikman in the shower and that he looked pretty good there too...

So might there be another criteria - some kind of secret bragging rights that these owners share with each other? Something that makes it acceptable to take a bath on draft day, so to speak? Are there hidden cameras? Maybe these guys were superstars off the field, if you know what I mean? Maybe there's a tie-in with the referees? Although if it's the refs, their over-penalization would indicate that our Cowboys haven't been carrying their share of the load after hours. Or maybe the refs are jealous seeing as they became refs to compensate for their inability to please women? Just sayin'...

I don't think there's a coach alive who can make Mazi Smith not suck.  He's so bad he can't even get on the field for a historically bad defense.

I have zero idea what they saw from him in college. Even against much smaller, inferior talent, he was very slow off the block and looked pretty meh. Maybe an end of the draft flier? But a 1st round pick? Lmao. He makes Taco Charlton look like Charles Haley. Add in Schoonmaker and that DB they took in 2017 right after Taco. All of them have been ass.

he was drafted on potential.  believe it or not his testing numbers were amazingly good.  whatever that score thing is where they give you a number up to 10 for your testing numbers compared to your position group, I think he had one of the highest in the past 10 years or something.
