You can’t read lol

Also…I like how me doing things like quoting Charlie Kirk’s own words about whipping foreigners and such is “my opinion.” I’m sorry if the guy you desperately want to canonize was actually a pretty shitty person. Again, “being a shitty person who I disagree with” should not result in murder, state-sanctioned punishment, etc….which 1) seems like it should be a non-controversial take, and 2) is the opposite approach as our current regime is taking in response to Kirk’s death.
I’m curious…do yall have as much of a problem with THAT, the state literally saying that anyone on the left should be punished and exiled from this country, as you do with me just quoting some of the worst things Kirk actually said?
Because I assure you, I am much less a threat to this republic than Stephen Miller is, but I’m the one you’re pissed at.
I think I’ve spotted one of our many, may problems.

That shit has been happening as far back as the early 2000’s. Bill Maher was kicked off ABC for saying the 9/11 terrorists weren’t cowards. Even though he left an empty seat for a regular conservative  contributor who died on one of the planes that day, it’s been going on for a long time. People being fired and disciplined or put on leave for making statements that don’t match the narrative of the current party/administration in power. That’s a both sides kind of “thing.”

I should also mention his roommate is a hero who helped LE as well. And this is not being said.

I’m still kinda fascinated with the furry thing. Also his roomie appears to either be a furry or a mascot. People were saying that the assassin dropped out of school after only one semester. I don’t know if that’s true but it tracks with these shooters. They don’t want to work in the real world or can’t bc of whatever reason. Just to hang out online and collect grievances and get angrier and angrier. This kid had a fairly decent sized friend group he was regularly in contact with. But what’s he been up to since high school? No idea but a lot of these young male shooters are similar in that regard. Not much since high school. No real effort to integrate into life.

Picture of furry/mascot roommate. That culture of furries fascinates me.

That photograph is not being pumped as Robinson's "roommate" except by right wing sources.

I watched a few videos after his assassination and the ALL the newd coverage of it until it made me sad to watch any more of it. But he he talked about family a lot. And the importance of family. That’s what I got from it.

Newds?  Those go in IPIHB forum.

I love you and respect your opinions - but if found guilty, death by firing squad seems especially appropriate in this case.

Do you need the shooter to die?  If so, why?  If not, why would you deem it especially appropriate?  Are we back to eye for an eye justice?

FIFY. After “full stop” you don’t add but. Not how it works. Especially adding like 1000 words of your opinions.

Except that his "buts" had nothing to do with justifying or celebrating his murder.

They relate to OTHER things that are being called justifying or celebrating his murder.

It is completely fair to point out the hateful things he said when he is called a great Christian or civil debater.

In typical MAGA argument/rhetorical mode, you don't address whether those expressions were hateful or not, or even somehow inaccurately portrayed, or whether a true Christian would frequently and stridently declare such things  You shift the argument to "but it's no excuse for celebrating his murder."  It's a slightly more sophisticated version of "but her emails," or "but Hunter's laptop."

Daring to speak of the dead in any words OTHER than those they meet the after-the-fact approval of the regime and those beholden to it means that you are sent to the gulag in one way or another.

Whenever I see stories like this that don’t add up, i think. Is that true? So i did a simple google search to verify.

That wasn’t all he posted, that was ONE of the things he posted. I think this is the one actually that got him in trouble and together, it is easy to see how it can be interpreted as celebrating his death.

Quote

After Charlie Kirk was shot at UVU on Wednesday, Darren Michael reportedly published an insensitive post on Facebook. According to a screenshot shared by @DripChud on X, Michael posted a meme of an imaginary conversation between Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet that read:

“‘Is he dead yet?’ asked Piglet. ‘No,’ said Pooh. ‘F**k,’ said Piglet.”

Michael captioned the picture:

“You don’t even need to mention a name to know who this is about.”

According to another screenshot posted by @DripChud, Darren Michael also posted a screenshot of the headline from Newsweek’s April 2023 article that read:

“Charlie Kirk Says Gun Deaths ‘Unfortunately’ Worth it to Keep 2nd Amendment”

APSU president Mike Licari later addressed Darren Michael’s post in an official statement. According to Fox 17, he said:

“Austin Peay State University has fired Darren Michael, professor of Theatre, as a result of a post he shared on social media following the assassination of Charlie Kirk.”

The statement continues:

“A faculty member of Austin Peay State University reshared a post on social media that was insensitive, disrespectful and interpreted by many as propagating justification for unlawful death.”

The death penalty procedure is currently set up in an attempt to "be fair" to the accused.  Yet, we still execute innocent people, minors, and mentally retarded.  That's pretty much anything but fair.  So I guess it's not fair enough.  Or maybe by its nature can never be fair.

And, people can effectively be removed from society without killing them.

The New York Times went with it. I think they are kinda in the middle of right and left wing, certainly not on the extreme of either end.

I'm fine with that if there is really "life without parole" - not sure that is less a punishment than execution.  If found guilty, that guy is looking at 50+ years incarcerated.

They’re all shopping for clicks now, it’s the only business model. And they are also all either scared of the Trump admin or are owned by a right wing friendly oligarch.   There are now guidelines over what major media outlets can post.  It’s how you know the fascism is working.

Agree. The remnants of the MSM are thoroughly engaged in lying to their readers, mostly by omission buy also by commission. Reference the three years long Russia Hoax which, once that expired, they went with years of COVID lies. You'd have to be low IQ to expect them to tell you the truth.

The Innocence Project showed us that the percentage of false convictions was shockingly huge. We've executed thousands of innocent people. And yet, Nidal Hassan lives.

I don't doubt that the number of erroneous convictions is huge.  Thankfully, most of those are not capital cases and even in a capital case, conviction does not lead inexorably to execution.

The Death Penalty Information center identifies 201 exonerations from death row since 1973. https://deathpenaltyinfo.org/

The key is that if the content doesn't fit your narrative you blame the source. You can even use that same source as evidence if they later post something that fits your narrative.

Gotcha sorry. That came from NBC. I follow crime as everyone already knows. On a completely different forum from this one and I’m not interested in Republicans BS or Democrat BS or Liberal BS or Conservative BS. I’m only interested in what makes murderers like him tick. How did a kid who was seemingly well cared for and given many creature comforts decide to kill someone else for no reason. That’s what interests me.

I’ve been pretty consistent in this my whole time in the nearly 13 or so years I’ve been affiliated with shaggy and now surly. I’ve always been and always be fascinated by true crime. I want to know why. I want to know how to stop it.

and I need to find the source and post that. It was in reference to his roommate turning the shooter in. I thought it was interesting that the shooter engraved a furry phrase on a bullet casing and the MN Catholic school shooter was part of the furry community or the shooters romantic partner was. I was curious if there was an online community of furries and a contingent of them who may have violent tendencies. That’s probably a stretch but I am chasing down that kind of stuff because that’s what I do in the true crime forum I am on. Maybe surly isn’t the best place for that since it’s become more about strong arming people’s opinions onto others. As opposed to having discussions. Just brow beating and name calling. And echo chambers. To pander to a bunch of men who couldn’t take me in a kick boxing class. lol. 😂

This is why I'm against the death penalty. I don't trust them to get it right.

I'm not morally against executing people like Robinson - although I'm not sure he fully deserves it.

Let me get this straight, you’re sanguine that posting an insensitive meme is acceptable grounds for the government to fire a professor at a state university?

I mean we have no information that Hitler actually killed anyone personally.

I don’t think many wanted him dead but we are showing people like you who try to paint him as some god fearing, Christian that he is a horrible person.

You're right. That Clarksville newspaper article isn't the full story.

Here's the original Xitter post: https://xcancel.com/DripChud/status/1965924660236923329#m

image.thumb.png.fba4c06f81ca828180bf6be04fe0228b.png

First, notice the date. It was posted on September 10, last Wednesday, the day that Kirk was murdered, and I have to assume the screenshot was taken on that date. Unfortunately, I cannot find Darren V Michael's Facebook page where this was supposedly posted. I did find his Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/darrenvmichael/), and that post doesn't show there.

So now, second, notice the "6d" under Darren V Michael's name.

image.png.53bb10e7b9b86383a8654c6f459c06dc.png

What does that tell you? Well, it tells you that Darren V Michael posted that meme 6 DAYS BEFORE Kirk was murdered, and so therefore, it wasn't in reference to Charlie Kirk.

Folks, take a moment to scroll through @DripChud's Xitter account (https://xcancel.com/DripChud), and tell me what you see. If you prefer to give traffic clicks to a website that promotes actual fucking Nazis, you can also visit the original https://x.com/dripchud?lang=en.
