I think he is up to 7 or 8 confirmed kills of alleged  drug running boats/subs, based on intelligence from DEA.CIA, FBI, etc. while I am all for stopping drug trafficking it seems like this has been pursued at least since Reagan. From what I've read and heard, there is no oversight, or confirmation of allegations. This seems like a DarkOp, being carried out in public.

Just putting this in it's own thread, because escalating frequency increases and retaliation occurs this shouldn't be buried somewhere else..

For the record, I don't believe that what we are being told is the whole truth; more like"wag the dog" to dirvert attention problems.

I don't even know if it's that deep.  It's more like Trump, Vance and the boys are a bunch of rednecks drinking some beer while sitting around the fire and Hegseth walks up with some tannerite, "shit boys look what I found" and then things just go from there.

Bunch of dipshits with high tech tannerite blowing shit up because it's fun to make things go boom.

I put a deposit down on a Colombia trip for May.  Hopefully the war will be over by then, and the ruins will have stopped smoking.

Or, better yet, Trump will die on the shitter tonight.    Yeah, let's go with that one.

$200mm in aid gone. Poof, like a far in the wind:

Quote

President Trump says he will withdraw aid to Colombia. Trump issued his threat after President Gustavo Petro of Colombia accused the U.S. of killing a fisherman in a strike on a boat in the Caribbean; the U.S. leader accused his counterpart of doing “nothing” to stop what he says is illegal drug production in his country. The U.S. gave more than $200 million in foreign aid to Colombia in the 2025 fiscal year.

There's a man. Wild admiration.

I wonder if this reflects some of the conversations among those flag officers that the two guys from the TV ordered to gather a while back. I'm sure the TV guy in charge of the, cough, War Department will challenge him to a push-up contest to show who is more competent to make military decisions.

It’s murder, plain and simple.

But such a vicarious thrill for degenerates!

ETA: Here's the breakdown of aid to Colombia:

*The defense industry will love this. Most of our foreign is military based (or it was last time I read about it) and, as Gore Vidal argued, should be counted as part of the defense budget as it goes to arms makers. Military industrial complex and all that.

The above shows the many options Trump had other than the thrill of having the power to legally order murder. He has many cards to play. Yet, he chooses to blow up boats at sea then to play his whole deck of cards at once.

I have no idea how any of our foreign aid initiatives with Colombia do good or harm. The one at the bottom sounds good, but I don't believe somebody working the fields for a drug lord can just turn in his resignation to work his own plot of land. The rest? Who fucking knows?

But try manipulating those before going lethal on valid targets then never attack targets randomly then lie about it. There were bags of fentenyl and other drugs floating all around the wreckage. Then tell bigger lies to the sailors you turn into accessories to your pathological wickedness:

Nothing much to add about the above. The last sentence, ironically, is so mild a retort that it's maybe across the line of dishonesty itself.

I begin to wonder if we only had three TV networks focusing on the same stories with little other distraction for the public if would be united in seeing this madness and put an end to it. Everyone who watched the evening news or read the daily papers would be able to quote the above for its outlandishness. I didn't find out about the speech until today. It should have been a one-way ticket to the looney bin.

There is no way back to that. It's not a new thought, but I see the fragmentation of the public in terms information gathering as another nail in the coffin of our republic.

Not a doubt in my mind. Fox News ruined this country.

Nixon declared the War on Drugs in 1971.

And, this is going to be like Vietnam and all the rest since:  a guerilla war in a place where life is cheap and livelihood (if not freedom/self-determination per se) is at stake and a loser for us that ends only when we tire of the loss of American lives.

it's almost as if you can't stop the foibles of human behavior on the supply side. Has it EVER worked? (don't look too hard, the answer is no). But dammit, we're gonna try again, and the right will keep voting for it because it means they get to blow things up, victim-blame folks for being actual human beings, and then go home at night at huff the paint fumes, or get drunk off our gourds, or high as a kite on Oxy while we blame "them damn Mexicans" for everything that's wrong in the world.

you left off fentanyl and the evil Chinese horde; South American cartels are under direct fire - I am thinking that some strategic tactical strikes in the jungles of Colombia and in the heart of China to take out factories could well be the next target - there is a clear and present danger.

Didn't we also declare tariffs on Canada for their mass imports of fentanyl?

That reminds me, did anyone see the commercial during last night’s baseball game aired by Canada that had Ronald Reagan’s monologue on tariffs?

Yep.  It was aired several months back too up here in Dallas when Trump first announced them.
