UPS Airlines crash on take off at Louisville Airport.

I worked at UPS for a long time and know a lot of people, nobody in Louisville though. It's going around that the plane in question was pulled out of service last year and recently put back into service also that it supposedly had some sort of engine troubles the day before the flight.

Could be total bullshit. The attempts upthread to tie this accident to the government shutdown aren't the only ones politicizing this. UPS cut 48,000 jobs in the last year alone and have brought forward many other cost cutting measures that are extremely unpopular with the rank and file.

Just thinking from a logistical standpoint I know package volume has been running at almost half of covid high levels, so Im not sure why they would need to press a shoddy plane into service

Earlier this evening Anderson Cooper had a guest on who reported and reiterated that its been confirmed with investigators on site there were no maintenance issues with the plane that day.  That stood out to me because there was comment in this thread about the plane having issues earlier that day.

Never believe anything you hear about a crash for at least 24 hours.

Seeing is another story.

Ironically this was yesterday evening so like exactly 24 hrs.

As CS notes it could certainly be word twisting and of course always be skeptical.  I just thought it was worth sharing that.

I get it. It’s human nature to speculate, and it wouldn’t be the Surl if we didn’t. Myself included.

I’m just saying speculation is all it is at the outset. Rarely do you get solid facts beyond “the plane crashed and the crew is dead.” That much we can see with our own eyes.
