cohen could provide a real nice road map once the time comes.

he already discussed fluctuating his worth to suit taxes/lending.

cohen knows all of it. he may have known this story was coming. i wonder if he wasn't the person to leak this to the NYT.

Had a dumbshit aggy Trumpkin (redundancy alert) at the pub tonight bitching about the stock market tanking. He made it aware he "wasn't thrilled" by the impact of Trump's ratcheting up the tariffs/trade war with China, but added "in the long run, it's probably the right thing to do. Trump KNOWS how to run a business."

BTW, said aggy is such a financial genius he's paying PMI on his home he bought 3 years ago at 52 years of age.

I'm sorry, how fucking hard is it to avoid PMI at that age?  There should be a regulation that demands the lender slap the applicant if they don't have enough money to top 20% down payment above age 40.

America wanted to elect "a businessman" as president.

So....they elected the American businessman who lost more than any other businessman.

The Donald J. Trump secret for how to make a small fortune: start with a large one.

Seems about right for these times.

My MAGA co-worker: "See, it just proves that despite his losses Trump can keep being successful. It takes a real fighter to keep bouncing back."

this is why i think he loses in 2020 (sorry, crossing over from the 2020 dem candidate thread).  people who say this shit already like him and already voted for him.

none of this (in my eyes) makes someone who voted for hillary or didn't vote at all come out of the woodwork and vote for trump.

I've argued this before, but the rationale will just change from preventing a Hillary presidency to preventing a socialist presidency. Which is why I think 2020 will be close once again. The only thing that would make me confident in Trump losing would be an economic downturn before the election.

The media will do their best to make it close as well, they always do.

Yep.  I fully expect a couple of people I know to vow that they won't vote for him, but when they step into that ballot box, they'll be forced to pull the R lever because "it's just too dangerous" to elect a "socialist".  Brain.  Washing.

Nobody could see he was a compromised idiot?

You could only see it if you watched CNN or MSNBC.  Or if you read reuters.com or bbc.com or literally any other news source other than Fox.  Or if you weren't a complete fucking rube.

There are millions upon millions of people just like this.   These people + the mouth breathing morons and traitors who now openly support him =  easy win for Trump.

there was a 400+ page report about possible interference from a hostile foreign entity.  his taxes from the 80's don't make him any more susceptible in my mind than he already was.

we've already seen returns from people who we have zero suspicion about (bernie?  give me a fucking break).  nobody cares about anyone's but trump's.  they will tell the tale, and i bet we never see them.

Not sure why he won't just release all of his tax returns. They could show he cheated on them every year, he laundered money for foreign entities, and he committed countless crimes,  and Fox News and his base would find a way to make it ok. Hell, he'd probably pick up support.

I don't think it's the losses or write offs that scare him; it's the fact that the bottom line after losses shows he isn't a billionaire, or even a millionaire.  He can't let the world see that Bill and Hillary probably made more money than he did in a given year.

I fail to see a way out of this.  Either this is the proof that you're a failure as a businessman, or you committed massive tax fraud.

Your move, genius.

I’m a little disappointed in myself for not living like a multi-billionaire with a billion dollars in debt.

No fucking shit.

Me and the husbands out here stressing about having two kids in college and if the money we actually saved will actually pay for it because tuition costs have exploded over the last 18 years we’ve been saving.

We paid off 4 cars over the last 4 years, don’t use credit cards, save the max, and live beneath our means so our kids don’t graduate with student loan debt and we don’t die on the job because we can’t afford to retire.

What a couple of fucking suckers we are.

What kinds of lenders give money to people who have lost a billion dollars?

What good steward of money gives hundreds of millions to a guy who bankrupts casinos?

Deutsche Bank, known money launderers for the Russian mafia and oligarchs.

I'm sure Donnie's made them plenty in off-the-books deals.  Which is why he sued DB to prevent them from complying with the Congressional subpoena to release his banking info.  DB was probably never going to comply anyway, because they don't have to answer to our Congress, but Donnie Dipshit kinda tipped his hand there.  And I'm not a lawyer, but trying to block a Congressional subpoena sounds a bit like obstruction of justice.  But hey, no collusion!

without knowing from personal experience, i would assume these loans are almost fool proof.  you lend a big number, and if you don't get paid back because of "bad investments from the guy you loaned money to" you get a write-off.  rigged system and shit.

a much older, wealthier person than me once told me (paraphrasing) that when you owe the banker ten grand, you can't sleep at night.  when you owe the banker a hundred grand, he can't sleep at night.

i'm sure donald paid what he felt like and kept borrowing because there was always that chance that he could bring more money and prestige to the bank.  it was the fucking 80's, after all.  shocked he wasn't wrapped up in some savings and loan scandal.

You guys post about Donald Trump a lot.

Is this new tax thing the next big news? He’ll be impeached any day now, right?

I’ll check back here in a few months to see what everyone is freaking the fuck out about then.

I'd like to see a detailed comparison of Trump's tax returns and his loan apps during that timeframe.  It's probably exactly what Cohen said, but earlier:  Trump doctors his tax returns to reflect lower income and net worth and doctors his loan apps to reflect higher income and net worth.

Let's roll, bitch.

he may or he may not.  i would say the board is pretty divided in their predictions.  same as the congress.  he may be impeached, but absolutely zero people think he'll be removed over it.

this is about 2020.  that's when bad man goes bye-bye.

It'd be fun to know who continued to loan him money after ten straight years of losing massive amounts of funds annually.  If it's private investors, I guess that's not so suspicious.  But it'd still be fun to see the clowns who threw money at the orange goober.  Maybe he knew a loan officer who wore a helmet to work who got reprimanded daily for gnawing on the office supplies.

Look at the time period where Trump just tanked more money than literally every American during that time.  Seriously.  He lost more money in that period than ANYONE.  Dead last is still a poor measurement when it comes to business acumen, right?  Imagine a guy with all of that capital during that span of time and think of all the investments he missed.  IBM.  Microsoft.  Apple.  Rubber dogshit.  Barrel O' Monkeys.  Fart spray.  In spite of all that financial leverage and the celebrity mystique, he was still an afterthought in the list of Manhattan realty kings.  Imagine all the people he disowned or fired because he felt insulted when they politely suggested he stop financially fingering himself in the ass.

It'll be really good then.
