Today marks a year since we lost our daughter Sloane at 8 months due to an umbilical cord issue. I vented here and you all were absolutely amazing. I’m extremely grateful. This last year has been hard. Really hard. In some delusion, I thought the men must be strong and stoic. That anything else showed weakness. So I bottled everything and kept everything I was feeling inside. Friends and family started to notice I was off. Antidepressants didn’t work. Hell, they probably made it worse. I was spiraling. Panic attacks so bad I couldn’t be in crowds. It was hard to get out of bed. Then I had a dear friend go to the web and bear his soul and tell of the horrors he faced as a child. So, I figure if he can do it so can I. I started opening my soul. Instant relief. I’m trying to be an open book. That delusion of “men must be strong and stoic” is just that, a delusion. I pushed family and friends away for 18 months. I missed a lot, but am finally ready to catch up. If any of you all are going through tough times, DM me. There is strength in numbers. I’ll listen and share my story. I’ve learned that if I help just one person, my struggle will have been worth it. If you all would send some T&P for the wife and I today, we would be eternally grateful.7 points

Deadwood binge snack of the last of some homemade pickles (garlic and japs from the bottom of the jar). probably not shank-qualified, but not interested in finding a better home. feel free to fuckoff. got a hankerin' to make a rueben, so bought some sauerkraut and rye at heb, but bailed on the wait at the deli. did pick up some brats tho, on 'kraut impulse, as a side dish. ended up at CM for the corned beef. the ass on the chick in front of me inspired me to linger and order some additional cold cuts, namely some ham and hot capicola. later in the week, I had to divert around the clusterfuck on 45th which brought me close to those old bags at Far West HEB where I was able to pick up a marble rye and make whatever the fuck.7 points

There you have it folks: Tupelo, Mississippi. Mississippi ranks #50 in health care, #46 in education, #48 in economy, #45 in infrastructure, #44 in opportunity, and #44 in fiscal stability. But Mississippi, vote for Trump: he has your values because he likes you just the way you are!6 points

What Earl said is 100% racist. That a QB would be better or worse because of his skin color was exactly what people said in the 70s when Earl played and black QBs were made to play safety. He knows it's wrong. Everybody knows. And a lot of people (of many colors) believe most of what he said, while a lot of people belive exactly the opposite. All he needed to say was, "I think we need to let the QB make more plays with his feet... And see if he can coach defense, because we fired the black coach who had a defense this shitty..." Keeping it racial.4 points

Pro: chicken express now has hot and spicy tenders. Along with some okra, made an excellent dinner on the drive in to the ranch last night. Con: chicken express now has hot and spicy tenders. Along with some okra, that has made this morning in the blind challenging.4 points

Yep, and all this nonsense about "motivating players" being the #1 trait in a coach; Bellicheck and Saban would laugh their ass off at that. The most important thing a coach can do is make sure his team does the exact right thing on every play of every series of every game. Know your role, know what you do/don't do well. Do your job. The elite coaches would take a group of athletes that know that and play with 80% heart, over a team that is undisciplined but plays with 120% heart and kisses their coach and whatever other nonsense Herman fantasizes about. Trust in doing the right thing is a two way street. You can't ask for discipline and reliability from your players if you as coach keep your underqualified buddies around on staff, who are doing the players the disservice of giving them shitty coaching. You can't expect excellence of execution from your team if they can't trust you to build schemes and game plans that set them up for success. If I were a player I wouldn't take Herman's pleas for professionalism and execution seriously either. If he can't put aside his buddies and his ego to make his team successful, why would the players? He is setting his team up for failure for selfish and personal reasons. Excellence and consistency and professionalism start at the top. Even the peripheral things like Michelle Herman's trashy Twitter wars are a microcosm of the whole thing. Do you think Bellicheck or Saban or Meyer or Payton or Popovich or whoever would be okay with their wife doing that? Tom Herman is not professional enough for this job.4 points

We control our destiny. However, we don't control our defensive backs or safeties or linebackers, they just run around randomly like chickens with their heads cut off.3 points

Fuck yes. And if you don’t occasionally work through part of a bag of Chips Ahoy with a couple of glasses of milk, you’re a dirty communist. No point in being an adult if you can’t do the things parents don’t want you to do.3 points

Rhule would probably be 4-4 if Baylor had played OU, LSU and TCU this season and the Tech game had been called fair and square. He may be a better coach than Herman, but I am not ready to crown his ass.3 points

Catching up in here...first it was not racist, then it was and offensive, then it was ok because he’s old, then it was racist but ok because broad brush blacks have had it harder than 99.9% of white people? Got it. Thread bookmarked for when some old white Texan coot drops some racist shit and the cloakers call for his/her head.3 points

One of the episodes of Rotten on Netflix discussed this. Apparently the consensus thinking of pediatricians of not exposing newborns to anything until a certain age helped breed this new age of food allergies.3 points
