Well first of all, the fact that they used the Sandler version of The Longest Yard means that whoever made that graphic should be shot in the face. As for your question, my favorite football movie is my copy of the 1/4/2006 Rose Bowl.15 points

Rumor is we made a partial phase one deal for Harrell to come to Texas pending an agreement for USC to purchase a defined amount of smoked brisket from John Mueller.12 points

I heard Harrell said he thinks he's coming to Texas and Herman made him define the meaning of the word "think" back to him.11 points

I'm driving to work. I'm stopped at a stop sign to turn left onto a two-lane, one-way road. Two bro's in a new Dodge Charger small dick mobile are across from me, with their turn signal on, indicating they will be turning right onto the same two-lane road. One lane for them to turn into, one lane for me to turn into, no problem. Both lanes are clear at the same time, we both start to go. However, despite their signal, they go straight, at the same time I'm turning in front of them. We both stop, collision avoided, no big deal. I wave and start to drive off since I'm blocking them but they aren't blocking me. Bro in passenger seat gets out of car, screaming at me to "STOP!!" and stands in front of me so I can't go. I start to go around him, and he goes full Hulk smash road rage on my hood. At this point we are blocking both lanes of the two way. Driver gets out, comes over and sticks his head through the open window of my passenger door and starts yelling some shit at me, reaching through the window like he's going to grab me or something. If I were a hothead who carried a gun, that mother fucker would have been deader than fried chicken at this point. However... what both these idiots don't realize is that waiting behind them is a sheriff's deputy. He blares his siren and through the loudspeaker and yells "Get back in your car and pull over!". He gets out, gun drawn. They get back in, and pull over; I pull over also. Over the loudspeaker, deputy tells us to remain in our vehicles. After a few minutes when DPS back up arrives, both of those wastes of resources are cuffed and stuffed. Turns out, I personally know the DPS trooper who takes my info-- he's a neighbor who I occasionally see and talk to walking the dogs. .He says "You are free to go Mr. Drifter. I'll be in contact." As I'm driving off, I see their car getting tossed. Just thought I'd share9 points

Dearest mother — These are truly trying times. So many horses have perished at the hands of our enemy that the men have decided to vanquish their starvation by consuming them. Mother, horse meat is not appetizing whilst slathered only in Squirrel Oil. Tarnashions! If only someone had the resolve to assist our culinary dilemma. I hear tell the men of the A1 regimen are feverishly working to assist our taste buds, but I fear it will be too late. I look forward to better days on the farm. — Andrew7 points

Time for RD to get in here and remind us that PV is in the aggy system. Should be able to keep it at a succinct 30 posts or so.7 points

I’m sad to admit that I do enjoy much of the stupidity of this thread. “Counterpoint: Tom Herman is ass. “ LOL. Good lord. If they don’t announce Harrell today, you can safely argue that Texas didn’t land him because Tom Herman is a douchier insufferable cunt than Rex Kramer/Dr. Beeper, and that would be an astonishing accomplishment. It would rival Chuckles Strong not hiring Sonny Cumbie because some bureaucrat in HR told him he couldn’t give someone a 3 year contract and Chuckles saying “okay” and moving on. We’re talking about incompetence in almost indescribable ways. But hey, maybe they close this thing out and snag victory from the jaws of self-defeat.7 points

Update. New ovens delivered and installed, 9 days after the self-cleaning self-destruction. Same as the old ovens. Successfully cooked a birthday cake. A $5,000 birthday cake. But you can’t put a price on happiness.7 points

This seems appropriate. Wife was preparing dinner last night, making a pizza with this stuff because she’s decided to be gluten free: Wanna guess what she liberally applied to keep it from sticking to everything while she was rolling it out?7 points

I've felt his philosophy has been to focus on recruiting the biggest/best hitters and blockers, because having the best hitters on the court will win you matches. His philosophy somewhat neglects the importance of a prime setter, and players who know how to handle a free ball well enough to distribute it to their hitter properly. We need more than just big hitters, we need high IQ players that can scramble and more importantly set the ball where they need to with consistency. That's very important when you have long points and are playing against teams who are great defenders/scramblers themselves. At the end of the day, Elliot has only produced 1 championship for us in all the years he's been our coach. I think we can all agree that given the talent we've had, and talent we have, we should have more success than that.6 points

not to go too far into details of conversations we've been having for the better part of a year, but the prevailing thought is that if you don't impeach, then you're admitting that you're powerless, and that trump is a king who is completely above the law. if you impeach, you contest that a little, and make senate republicans go on the record. regardless of how this goes, trump will spin it as a "clear victory" for him, but putting zero guard rails up enables him even more, in my opinion. not that any of that matters, since he's literally soliciting foreign interference right now, as the hearings are happening. for a broader picture, it gives the house dems something to campaign on, and shows house pubs acting like fucking monkeys slinging poo at each other. hopefully the same in the senate. the optimist in me hopes this is a small win for democratic reform in the long run, but who the f knows at this point. my go-to line has been "if you're a cop or a prosecutor, do you stop arresting guilty people even if you know the jury is crooked?" if the answer is yes, there are fundamental issues at work, and the whole system must be burned to the ground. we're getting closer to that now.6 points

26 years old in 2019 means you were born in 1993 ===> You would've been 15 in 2008 when McCain actually ran (against Obama). In 2012, you would've been eligible to vote, but McCain wasn't on the ballot. Your guy was likely Romney, kid.6 points

I've never hoped this. It was imminently clear from the outset that the first generation of enablers/appointees were going to be the most capable. Because after it was shown that (a) they couldn't wrangle him to their ends and (b) he was sure to stab them in the back, the only way left was down. Barr is the worst though. Most of the others are incompetent yes men. But he's a true Rasputin who has the ear of the czar, mixed with the intelligence to know how to kowtow enough, but otherwise stay out of the spotlight and get his agenda (whatever dominionist shit that may be) working behind the scenes. All with an underlying air made up of equal parts malevolence and arrogance. He's what Steve Bannon could have been had Steve known not to upstage Dotard.6 points

as college football fans, we have conveniently forgotten the first world in that phrase. these teams are representatives of academic institutions of higher learning, although the higher part can be argued with most of these schools. never the less, we've lost sight of the spirit of collegiate athletics and focus only on the athletics part which leads us to situations like baylor, penn state, now maybe oregon, and countless other incidents almost every year. they should split up collegiate athletics between schools which still honor academic integrity and schools which basically operate as semi pro teams while treating school as a mere inconvenience. i know which schools i'd support with my viewership. fuck oregon, fuck baylor, fuck penn state, fuck ou, fuck the entirety of the sec.6 points

I have probably said this before, but part of my worst version of hell is being trapped in a room, forced to sit with legs crossed, while Ian Boyd stands above me, reading his posts out loud and then using a laser pointer to highlight his thinking on projected film, endlessly. Just fucking no. It makes me resent anyone that posts his shit, but I already view sarvanaash as a worthless piece of shit, so I can’t move that needle any lower.6 points

No matter what, I guarantee you all of their sources will have been right. If Harrell stays at sc, Chip will remind us that his sources were right. If he comes to Texas, Chip will let us know that his sources were right about Harrell wanting to stay at sc, but that he had a change of heart, which he always said could happen. Nahlin's sources indicating things could move quickly will be right whether he stays or goes or if news comes quickly or it takes a long time for anything to be announced (things could always move quickly, then stall out for a while, and then move quickly again). Bottom line is, no matter what happens or when it happens, all sources will have been right all along.5 points

“I don’t post in the CR” is the equivalent of “I didn’t vote for Trump, but” when it comes to opening sentences that almost certainly lead to a rant against liberals, leftists, Hugo, etc... Again, I relish the thought of the EC putting a Democrat in office over a ‘Pub who won the popular vote...just to revisit this conversation later. Because your argument ironically laments about a handful of liberal states dictating the countries direction...yet our country is already in the hands of a small collection of swing states like fucking Ohio. Y’all just don’t care because it’s worked out for you. Speaking of lies, Trump falsely claims he won the popular vote. He lied about biggest EC win in history. Hugo bringing up a highly unlikely scenario is not lying, but I’m not surprised your definition of a lie is different from mine.5 points
