  1. i do find it amusing that the dipshit brigade started to rear its head in the thread finally when the topic became about the personal biases of a juror after pages and pages of avoiding the topic of an attorney general doing to the president's bidding in overriding a sentencing recommendation that was by the book for a political friend who had been found guilty by a jury of some pretty fucking serious crimes. and the fact that four u.s. attorneys have withdrawn from the case in protest does not warrant their comment but a retweet from one of the jurors causes their heads to explode. they truly are shameless pieces of shit with absolutely no ethical or moral boundaries. they are willing participants in a cult of personality that applauds the irrational and the vile. this situation is absolutely indefensible to anyone who cares about the health of the country. there is literally nothing about it that can be spun and decent or appropriate and it is the type of shit that we used to make fun of south american banana republics and russia for...and now they giggle at it and make up some horseshit trolling line of trump brilliantly orchestrating the whole thing to get a juror's personal opinions impeached. shameful and pathetic.

  6. Oh please, not even close. This electronic surveillance "scandal" was employed by numerous teams across MLB, as previously reported by Verducci in 2018. This wasn't new, it was an open secret with a code of silence by every player in MLB. THEY ALL KNEW. So here's an idea for the opposition....CHANGE YOUR SIGNS!!! Cheating is endemic in baseball and it's not the Big Deal this narrative has evolved into. This is a bunch of stupid fuckin pearl clutching by the media and butthurt fans of other teams who hate us because they ain't us. This gives them a participation ribbon and a dream of the World Series that they didn't win. This is only a big scandal because MLB allowed these circumstances with the implementation of instant replay and looked the other way when the Dodgers, Red Sox, and Yankees were doing it. Now the Astros are the convenient fall guy because 1) they had guys in the front office who played the smartest guys in the room role to the media instead of playing the likable insider role and 2) they kept beating the marquee franchises on the field and at their own game and 3) Mike Fiers didn't like being left off the playoff roster and not invited back and 4) Evan Drellich wanted revenge for the front office bullying him back in 2015 or so. I'm ready to start this season and cheer as the Astros take on the world.

  10. Last weekend we went to Kyle Field and have never been treated as well by opposing fans! Everywhere we went people were smiling, greeting my group with a "Howdy yall!", and asking if we were having a good time. On the way out, many fans stopped us and said congratulations on the big win and best of luck on the season!

Wife told me this one last night at the dinner table... she walked out of the gym and over to her car and sees a dent in the back door, starts cursing and getting annoyed then spots another dent on the front qtr panel as well as a couple of small holes in the bonnet, by this stage she is really pissed.... Then she realizes its not her car, its not even the same model, its just the same colour

  13. No. She was def bein a bitch. she paid for a seat. That seat has a recline button. That seat also has a reading light and an air vent. She paid for the use of those things for the duration of the flight.

  17. moreover, the faux pearl-clutching over the personal biases of one of numerous jurors selected as the triers of fact in the stone case is even more deliciously ironic in light of the behavior from 51 jurors the nation witnessed in a very recent, relatively well-publicized trial that just took place. i wonder if the personal biases expressed in the respective twitter accounts of those jurors should be evaluated in detail to determine whether the appropriateness of the outcome is possibly undermined by those personal biases... but as bill hicks said, morons have never understood irony and thus, have no appreciation for it.

  19. This is all so stupid. Nobody hates the Astros because they are jealous of them. You are the fucking aggy of the MLB. You've won 1 championship in your entire history. That championship is the most tainted championship in the history of the sport. You are equal to aggy sitting in a room crowing about your 1 championship to Alabama, Clemson, Texas, Ohio State and USC. The reason everyone hates you is because you are the most tone deaf organization in the sport. Your team has almost literally come out and said that winning is more important than the safety of women or even being a decent human being. Your front office has lied repeatedly. That's why you don't get the benefit of the doubt.

  20. If he wasn't a shitty person, he wouldn't be who he is, and you wouldn't have voted for him in the first place. All he is, is shitty. He is nothing more than coifed, fake tan shitty in a bad fitting suit. If he wasn't shitty he wouldn't even exist. If shittiness disappeared from the world today, every person on Earth would become a better person. dOTarD would simply cease to exist. Every action, word, tweet, policy that emanates from him is based on the fact that he is shitty. That is why you like him.

  21. 1) Yurcich - applying the caveat that Herman actually works with him to construct thoughtful gameplans and then let's him call the game and tempo. 2) Hutzler - there are folks who believe this guy is an up and comer and a strong recruiter. 3) Boulware - I like taking this guy from OU and bringing him home. He's got a good ST rep along with recruiting acumen. 4) Ash - comfort hire and a lunkhead, but Herman has proven he could do a lot worse. I'm at the point of viewing mediocrity as valued progress within the Texas football/AD program. Orlando became a frightening fucking joke, kind of like Ash as a personnel manager and head coach. I'm hoping the theory that bad HCs can still be amazeballs coordinators proves itself out with this guy. 5) Coleman - this hire could have happened quickly if this was who Herman wanted. It wasn't. In reality, Herman whiffed multiple times on other targets, then farted promptly into his own closed hand, lifted it up to his nose as he closed his eyes, released the odor bomb and saw Coleman's name through the mist. Blech, meh, eh. Those claiming he's some sort of solid recruiter are wishcasting. We have no fucking idea whether or not this guy can recruit, but I'm crossing my fingers with everyone else. 6) Hagen - 27 years of proven mediocrity is quite the standard in which we're now aspiring within the program. On the other hand, if this guy is the replacement for, say, Derek Warehime, then, uh, sign me up? At least we now have 5 assistants on defense. So, in effect, this guy matters in the form of having mass and taking up space. 7) Valai - there is no justification whatsoever for this hire that makes any sense except for the premise that he's going to be an aggressive bag man. That's hopefully what's going on. If it is, however, the early results aren't promising. He shows up and decides to recruit Ennis Rakestraw, who then sprints immediately into the waiting arms of ... Missouri? Holy fucking shit. (Charlie) Strong start for this guy. People can say what they like, but if OU had a defensive staff of Smoldering Ash, Hustle Never Sleeps, Mother Hutzler, J'ai Alai, and Tom Hagen, we'd all be high-fiving and proclaiming our intellectual superiority.

  24. Cool, so now the Astros/fans have been compared to child abuse/pedophilia apologists, violent rape supporters, and now Nazis. Not because the team stole signs in some baseball games (which is totally legal and mostly celebrated), but because they did it with cameras. But no, by all means, this hasn't been blown out of proportion at all.

  25. No. Her seat would sit empty until an election could occur 62-77 days after order of a special election. Let me discuss all the current Senators I do not want to be VP or cabinet members due to shitty vacancy laws: Sinema (AZ R governor appointment) Shaheen or Hassan (NH R governor appointment) Sherrod Brown (OH R governor appointment) Manchin (WV R governor appointment) Warren or Markey (special election - interim appointed by MA R governor) Baldwin (special election in a swing state - stays vacant in the interim) Bernie or Leahy (special election - interim appointed by VT R governor) Wyden or Merkley (special election - stays vacant in the interim) Like I think the Democrats win the presidency but the Senate is very precarious. Interim Republicans or vacancies could screw up our first 100 days, easily.

  28. We get it, you're the resident Hand skeptic. Between this post, @Blackcat00 floating in to tell us everything's going to be fine with a drifting 5-star recruit, and @golfclap using Drayton as his negative example in a mostly unrelated post, everyone's really playing the hits today.

  29. I get what you are saying but I think Hand continuing to recruit other guys for their 2 spots is important not only for leverage but because we've seen other coaches on this staff that didn't recruit a plan b, while only shooting for the moon and the resultant outcomes. The fucking Noah Cain, Trey Sanders debacle for instance. I do think the Brocks end up Longhorns but if they somehow end up elsewhere and Texas is in a good spot with Miller and Walden because Hand has done a good job fostering and growing those relationships, I'm good with it.

  31. A person who pays for a seat has the right to use every feature of that purchase including air vent, TV monitor, bathroom, overhead bin, and seat recline. Every person who buys a ticket is well aware of the features of an airplane seat. End of story. If you chose to not recline then that's just a courtesy. If you act like a toddler and throw a tantrum because someone does: then don't fly.
