  6. FWIW, a couple of the aggies I know that are involved pretty heavily in their "recruiting" work, guys who've gotten to where they view Ritz Bit as a friend, threw in the towel this week on a trip to Tuscaloosa that they'd had on their calendar since early this year. Literally taking their jet and heading elsewhere in which they won't have the ability to be reached by the outside world for a week. Not sure if @bizzle will be with them but if he's yet again wintering in Vancouver, perhaps he'll run into them. Anyway, if these guys check out until they see progress, that is not good news for the aggie NIL machine and would be very good news for the rest of CFB recruiting. Something stated that kills me due to the irony with Billdo Liucci was: "Weigman better be playing after the bye week, and they better start looking better if people are going to keep investing in this thing."

  11. Ukraine is so winning the info battle. The vids of homecomings, lifting up the people behind the front lines who keep the tip of the spear sharp, providing info on how Russians can surrender safely. On every level they are projecting the right messaging: we’re right, we’re confident and we’re gonna win this.

  16. Actually it is pretty fucking easy to navigate. It starts with a concept of respect. My kids play with with the next door neighbors kids. 2 little boys being raised by 2 women. No one makes a big thing of it. My kids wore masks, we washed groceries, and carried around hand sanitizer all without being traumatized. We didn't make a big thing of it. You have a dominant influence on your children and how you react will teach them how to react. I could rant and rave about common core math and how it was holding back my child, or I could just deal with it and teach him that this is just another way of teaching the subject AND that it is great that he has different ways to help him and others learn it. I didn't make a big thing of it. Yeah, the athlete situation is a little different, it also impacts relatively few people, which doesn't warrant nearly the attention it is getting. The real situation is that people (including kids) were offing themselves and are being treated like shit/bullied. But since you don't start from a position of respect and empathy, this will be difficult for you to understand. Somehow people wanting to live their life their way is offensive to you. Teaching kids to normalize some outlier behaviors and relationships as a way of reducing the stigma and ultimately trying to save lives and reduce bullying is just horrific to you. I do agree that some subjects are taught too young. The Holocaust and slavery are blights on mankind. I don't want my son to change how he sees his friends. I just want him to be ignorant of the horrors a little longer. When the school presented an option to read a book with elements of Anne Frank's experiences, I communicated with them that the imagery and emotions seemed a little too intense for my kiddo. They liked my feedback and consulted with me about other books. I didn't need to be a dick, lead a crusade, pretend I am a victim, nor did I make a judgement for other families. This is called mutual respect. This is what grown-ups are supposed to do and model. Your type focuses so much on grooming and indoctrination, yet many of you are happy to take your kids to church and let them get bombarded with advertisements or eat food that has been manipulated to become nearly drug like for kids. Shit, I have seen kids 4 yrs old drink soda. That is a bigger problem. That shit is addictive.

  22. Great event. Just got home. Mad respect for Immamac for organizing and picking up the tab. Favorite story of the night was from the guy sitting next to me who said that when he drinks beer he has major fart attacks so when he found himself sitting in the OU section one year that’s all he drank was beer.

  23. Four days ago Sebastian snatched one of my daughter’s socks when I dropped it on the floor doing laundry. When I tried to grab it back he swallowed it. Yesterday doing poop patrol in the back yard I found a really long turd with a purple tint. I squirted it with a water hose and it turned out to be her sock rolled up like a hotdog and covered in dog shit. I rinsed it off real good and dropped it in the washer with its mate. Both are back in her sock drawer now. When I see her wearing them I’ll tell her the story.

  25. I mentioned this in another thread, but this is the most appropriate place. Ran into Bijan and a couple other players last night following the Longhorn soccer game. I told them to kick some ass on Saturday. My wife started talking to Bijan and asked "what time is it?" Bijan responded with "OU Sucks! . . . Always!"

  26. My 5 year old had a "Kindergarten Fashion Show" today. All the kids get assigned a letter (his was K), and they had to come dressed up as something associated with that letter. We helped him make a vest out of a paper bag, and then he came up with words associated with that letter. Some stuff we had around the house, and other stuff we had to find online to print pictures to cut out, but we let him do all the cutting and gluing. We really wanted this to be his project. So we park him at the table with scissors and glue, and we tell him we'll check on him in a bit. 20 minutes later we come over to check, and he's made letters on the vest using glue and some glitter he found. Big letters on the back of the vest read "K K K" "Uh, that's really good buddy. I think we should add 1 more K because you do such a good job." "OK, yea!"

  31. Senior US military officials publicly acknowledging Ukraine's potential to take back Crimea. If this were to happen - and I have to believe it's possible based on the reports we keep getting back from the front - it would amount to such an unbelievable miscalculation by Putin to invade in the first place, it's difficult to put it into words. Not only did he unite the west in ways that were thought impossible. Not only did he create a significant enlargement of NATO, reinforce its purpose and necessity. Not only did he create conditions where all of Europe is looking for ways to reduce their purchases of Russian fossil fuels dramatically. Not only did he cripple his own economy, create a sense of hostility towards Russians of every stripe, but especially the richest. Not only has he decimated his military and shown it to be a paper tiger that no one has to fear. But in a war prosecuted for territorial conquest he could be forced to give up the most important asset of all, that he never would have had to lose, probably ever, if he hadn't invaded. The one thing I don't like about the article is the war graphic they showed. They didn't show the extent of Russian advances in the Donbas region, particularly in Luhansk, nor how far Russian forces advanced west of the Dnipro river in Kherson prior to the Ukraine counter offensive. But that's okay. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2022/10/05/ukraine-could-recapture-crimea-fleeing-russians-continue-flounder/
