  3. Some thoughts on their comments, fwiw. 1) Davison was the primary RB target until real NIL discussions happened and his head was in the clouds. It's too easy to find replacement options at RB unless someone is a Bijan Robinson type, and, shit, Texas was on Evans more than Robinson for a while in that recruitment. Oregon went in even above OSU. I'm interested in seeing if he's worth it. 2) Jackson really wanted McCutcheon, for whatever reason. Sarkisian wanted Johnson, but that guy didn't want to be in a class with 2 5 star WRs, even though the pitch to him was about more of the Whittington role. McCutcheon vs Johnson will also be an interesting comparison to watch. I assume Johnson will play much earlier than McCutcheon. 3) Ffrench and Moore went to the schools they went to for the same reason. The writer almost ... almost connects the dots in his Moore write-up. 4) M Terry's camp absolutely had an interest in NIL. However, Texas didn't match either other option and he's still at Texas because of the pitch. Terry is also certainly being taken care of regarding his contract. 5) Texas recruited the Winston guy a lot harder than the rankings would indicate they should. The big utility player idea, if the rumors are true for how the staff is thinking about some hybrid roles, would fit here. He played QB, TB and WR in addition to TE. His film is amusing at times. He's big and fast, but short at like 6'1". I have no idea what level of competition he was playing against on the tape, which I think was junior film. 6) The OL haul this cycle is a case study in a staff seeing something in multiple OLs that the rankings and other programs do not. Christian looks like a JAG to me. The Mills guy looked awesome, so that's a tough loss. Texas went all-in in trying to land Fasusi, mostly because he was the option they liked best OT. They were not as high on the other big name OTs as everyone else. 7) Can't believe Texas landed Tyanthony Smith out of Jasper in 2024. The push from Red Bryant and others there towards ATM seems tough to beat.

  10. I was just listening to the BBC ( no @Slacks settle down) and they had on two guests one from Canada and one from Buffalo, NY. The Buffalo woman spoke with a thick accent typical for that region, spoke about being a lifelong Dem, but voted for Trump because she was uncertain about Harris. Does not regret the choice he made but wishes they didn't have tariffs and wishes the Canadians weren't so pissed off at them. She went on to say our relationship with Canada is sibling like, and without any prompting said it was totally different than Mexico. She is just hoping we can all get along. Her parents came here after they left Egypt. She went on to praise Canadians, saying they are practically Americans. We act and think of them as Americans. The Canadian woman responded appropriately.

  11. Everyone needs to support the Texas observer - no one and I mean no one tells the stories they tell. Please subscribe to the print magazine or at least donate a few bucks. They are my current only place I devote my resources to fight back. I might expand it later but for now just making sure these stories are told is everything to me…. to us. a lone beacon of hope and compassion, simply by telling the stories of the unfavored.

Proceedings should have already begun just for the pardoning of all the people who tried to overthrow our government and beat up a bunch of cops for three hours. Not to mention giving an insane billionaire free reign to destroy our country the best ways he sees fit.

  19. Fuck off with your benign manifestation crap. 90% of people with severe and long Covid have significant mental health challenges as I described (long Covid starts at 12 weeks and continues for some indefinitely). I’ve spent at least 200 hours researching this and have talked to doctors and researchers who know what the fuck they are talking about. Acute neurological symptoms and mental health conditions are ABSOLUTELY hallmarks of long Covid for many. For those of us who had or have that experience there is nothing benign about it. In fact my cardiologist said long covid is a lot of things but at its core it is one thing… misery. There is nothing benign about mental health symptoms from severe / long covid. after I got my lung function back, cardio vascular and severe neurological symptoms were exactly what I had. No one who knows shit suggested I had something other than long covid. In fact where the researchers are going next is to identify subtypes of long Covid and the researcher I spent an entire day with talked up and down the symptoms including severe depression and anxiety and other neurological symptoms. One subtype is more like chronic fatigue, another is more like cardiovascular disease, another lung function concerns, another GI concerns, and then significant and debilitating neurological and mental health concerns. Of course they can overlap and include multiple subtypes. Whether it’s primary or secondary is still up for debate but my symptoms started getting better when we treated them as primary symptoms. They encouraged my ketamine treatment. When I rejected SSRIs thankfully - they encouraged a whole host of supplements aimed at my brain and central nervous system. Just stop. You aren’t an expert on Covid. Just like you aren’t an expert on transgender topics either.

  28. It is very real. Peruvians (mainly Lima) say they speak Castillian. Ex- MIL (Dominican) was one of those. She would iron her hair to remove any crinkles. Called any hair not straight "bad hair." my daughter with her bad ass curls brought shame to the family. It was illegal in El Salvador until the late 1970's to enter the country if you were black. Exception made for Brazilians who could play soccer. This is still very real.

  32. I've been building my own computers for the past 20 years or there about. Dell's premade computers were always a scam, IMHO. But their monitors were legit. Had one that lasted me a decade plus. Yeah, that's not a thing anymore. I don't know how they're still in business unless it's like an AOL deal where people stuck in the past continue to get raked over the coals by them. To explain how shitty Dell is, on their computers they actually fab their own shit-tier parts and stick them in the computer. So when (not if) that part inevitably goes bad you can't just swap it out and have the computer continue to work. You'd have to go back to Dell to get them to work on it. This guy got to be a billionaire not by being brilliant but the same way almost every other billionaire got there. By being a cunt and fucking people over.

  33. The woman singing America the Beautiful today was, in her words, β€œcanceled” by the mayor of New Orleans for singing at an outdoor Christian gathering in 2020. They were told not to remove the masks in public because of the spread of COVID, but did that matter to this paragon of virtue? You know the answer. It was all God’s master plan to get her to perform at the Super Bowl. I get so bent out of shape at these frauds using Jesus like this.
