  1. OU’s β€œChamp BBQ Weekend” turned out to be a giant wet fart. They landed Jandreau because his parents pushed him to stick with his brother. They landed a kicker. They landed a 3 star Edge over UCLA and Colorado. Throughout the weekend, Nagy was live tweeting hints at big things about to happen, getting posters worked up. I’ve listened to this guy over the years and there’s always been a hypeman element to him trying to rally viewers and participants to the Senior Bowl in Mobile. I didn’t realize that would carry over into OU GM territory. It’s gotten to where the sooner posters have rapidly gone from β€œTrust Nagy!” to mocking his tweets. It’s glorious to witness. Afterwards, multiple other β€œbig” targets indicated to the Sooner Illustrated mods that they were now looking elsewhere. The overriding theme? Oklahoma is poor. They wanted competitive offers to compare to other schools and they didn’t get them. They lost an IOL from Pasa-get-down-Dena! who is now choosing between TCU and UH. The guy went to OU this weekend, the mods said OU felt really good about the visit, then they spoke to him later in the day and he said he was choosing elsewhere. Same story for a 4 star DT they really wanted. They’re also all over a WR named Dandridge that Georgia really wants and expects to land. The mods are trying to keep hope there while clearly concerned. The mods and a board β€œinsider” are all now talking about OU prioritizing the portal over HS recruiting and telling board denizens to stop focusing on the HS recruiting rankings. In the span of 48 hours. β€œExpect fireworks in the portal in December!” That program is heading south in a hurry. They’ll have a decent team this year, but sustaining any bounce back will be elusive.

  3. If ya'll want some cool aid, Wiltfong says he still likes his Texas picks for Ojo and Turntine, says Texas is surging for James Johnson and can see him and Guervil both at Texas, and that Texas is a big threat for Tyler Atkinson.

  5. Bobby Burton One highly ranked recruit is set to announce Thursday: Alabama running back Ezavier Crowell, who is thought to be deciding between Alabama, Texas and Georgia. Three more blue chippers on Friday: OL Malakai Lee from Honolulu. It’s a Texas, Georgia, Bama and Michigan battle. S Chace Calicut from Houston North Shore. It’s between Texas, Georgia and Michigan. DL Damari Simeon from New Jersey. Texas, Michigan, Penn State and Ohio State. I don’t want to talk about the individual recruits in this column. Instead, I just want you to step back and consider the teams Texas is recruiting against for each of these players. Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State. That’s the entire list. It’s indicative of a new dawn for Texas recruiting. How? Because I’ve never seen a time where Texas was involved in this many hotly contested recruiting battles against other elite programs for players both in state and out. Never. And it won’t stop this week, it’ll go into the next two weeks as well. Before our eyes, Texas is morphing from a national brand that focused primarily itself as a regional recruiting power with specific outreach to other parts of the country to a full-fledged national recruiting power that flexes its muscle anywhere it goes. Again, it’s a new dawn for Texas recruiting. That being said, we don’t know (and won’t know) if the end results will be better or worse until much later, perhaps three or four years down the road. But the reality is, Texas is a true national recruiting power. The transformation has happened

I have extended family members over there trying desperately to live to the next day while fucking dipshits like you drool on their fucking desks and celebrate the scary brown people getting killed because you have nothing but sawdust in your skull and hate in your heart. 7. I think this point of view is one of the main defining points that separates Americans from each other. One group of Americans understands that the world is evolving and is part of a globally collected network of countries and peoples. Another group of Americans has an outdated and wrong-headed viewpoint that American is a dominant, controlling country able to impose its will on people all around the world. History has demonstrated over and over that dominant countries actually always end up behaving their way into destruction. One cannot control the minds and actions of 8 billion people. The way you get things done in a way that is sustainable over time is for those 8 billion people to want your leadership. The US for many years did just enough good things to maintain its existance and leadership. But a bully mindset and actions to match are an accelerating path to it's ultimate failure and destruction. That is a fact.

You get this information from the same source that told you the Trump voting, rabid anti-abortionist, radical evangelical church attending assassin of a democratic law maker and her husband, who also attempted to kill another democratic lawmaker, and who had a hit list of dozens of democrats and abortion providers was leftwing radical?

  13. I think @956 Worldwide's post yesterday is right. Iran's ability to both project force and to defend itself have been seriously impacted, their proxies they thought would help have shown themselves unreliable partners, as have Russia and China. The status quo isn't the same. However, it seems that all we've accomplished is a small delay in their nuclear program. In exchange for that delay, we've made them much likelier to pursue a bomb ASAP, have essentially destroyed international nonproliferation, gave Russia and China some new info on the B-2's capabilities and shown them that our bunker busters may not get the job done. Oh, and we've made it much likelier that Iran will be ruled by even more hardliners going forward. You can see how Israel sees all of this as a victory for them. But it's hard to see how it's a victory for us.

  20. The comments from the Florida fan were made in the context of the potential Texas defensive line class. In no way could anyone watch the two games Texas played against Georgia last year and realistically think, "Man, the Texas defensive line is getting rofl stomped." They had the drive coming out of halftime in the SEC championship game where the defense didn't adjust to Stockton as the starting quarterback. That was one of only 2 decent drives that ended in a touchdown in regulation in the two games. Even when they moved the ball they couldn't get it across the goal line. Their touchdown drives: 1st game 4 plays, 13 yards 3 plays, 34 yards 11 plays 89 yards 2nd game 10 plays, 75 yards This is just the standard SEC tripe "Florida style" using Georgia to carry their water. The Texas OL absolutely got dominated in the first half in Austin. The running game never did get going to any extent in either game, but Texas wasn't fielding an elite running back, either. No offense to Wisner. I'm grateful we had him. But it's like complaining about the lack of a running game against elite defenses when we're sporting Hodges Mitchell or Fozzy Whitaker back there. But outside of that first half, pass protection wasn't that bad. Ewers made some bad decisions, but that's not on the OL. But the thread isn't even about OL recruiting, so it's stretching to make a point to even bring it up in the first place. There was a lot more of Texas shooting themselves in the foot on numerous occasions on offense and special teams way more than there was some kind of mismatch in the trenches. This is a false narrative from a bitter Florida fan angry about the way recruiting is going against Texas and you picking up that narrative and parroting it, as if there's some truth to it.
