Didn't he take a public shot at Texas recently?

Yes. He said visiting dirty 6th during his spring break was like "visiting Sarajevo in June, 1914, when Serbian Gavrilo Princip assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand, inadvertently igniting an ethnic tinderbox that resulted in World War I."

Yes but his omission, seemingly purposeful, of Ratko Mladić seems like a good sign.

https://247sports.com/college/texas/Article/Texas-Longhorns-Football-Recruiting-Weekend-round-up-breaks-down-new-Texas-offers-132900755/

From Roach (most of the interesting stuff is related to '21 and '22 recruits):

Quote

—Winter Park (Fla.) CB Ethan Pouncey released his top five today, and Texas made the cut. The Longhorns offered last week, so obviously Pouncey is serious about Texas. The brother of current Texas receiver Jordan Pouncey also included Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and LSU on his list. Texas will likely get an official visit in the fall and move forward from there.

—Official visits are set to wrap up tomorrow afternoon. Per our policy, we leave recruits and their families alone while they are on the visit. We will gather information tomorrow and have a full rundown in The Stampede.

-Lathan Ransom is down to a three-team battle: Texas, Ohio State, and Notre Dame.

Interesting. I was under the impression LSU was his leader. If true, that gives Texas the proximity to home advantage.

So is this what things look like right now?

Probable Commits: Dorbah, Thompson Jr.

Possible Commits: McClellan, Robinson, Ransom, Crawford, Collins, Broughton, Umanmielen, Ringo, Rogers, Lindberg

Out of the running: Evans, George

Where does Washington sit on that list? I say possible but it's leaning towards ousucks because of depth chart(for real, not going aggy here)

Washington feels like a slight OU lean, but we have a chance to swing that because we have the last OV.

I thought Umanmielen was all aggy, at least in my translation of his twitter. And the only reason we’re in it is so aggy can thump their chest about h2h.

I guess I feel better about Rogers, Crawford and Lindberg than you do.

Via LonghornFrenzy:

(Bill Kurelic) Buckeyes make big impression on elite D-tackle Vernon Broughton

Houston (Texas) Cy Ridge defensive tackle Vernon Broughton was part of a big Ohio State official visit weekend and his trip to Columbus could not have gone much better.

“It went well,” Broughton told Bucknuts. “I got to see campus and talk to the coaches.”

Talking to the coaches of course included Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson.

“Coach Johnson told me what he has in store for me,” Broughton said. “He said I could have a great career there and play my first year if I work hard.”

Broughton made the trip to Columbus with his mother, grandmother, brother, sister and cousin. Broughton’s player host over the weekend was freshman defensive end Zach Harrison.

Broughton has previously made official visits to Arkansas, Texas and LSU. He will make an official visit to Texas A&M June 21.

“I want to decide soon after that, but probably not the week after it,” Broughton said.

Broughton said he does not have a leader, but the Buckeyes have definitely put themselves in the running.

“I’m not saying Ohio State is the favorite, but they left a big impression on me,” Broughton said.

The 6-foot-5 and 286-pound Broughton is a 4-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite. He is the country’s No. 70 overall prospect, the No. 6 defensive tackle, and the No. 10 prospect in Texas

Nahlin is making it sound like Brandon Harris had a major effect on Ransom in terms of Texas vs. LSU.

Rogers and Crawford are calculator, Lindberg probably isn't.

Agree to disagree on Lindberg.  IMO he just wants to enjoy the process (as would I) and is taking advantage of his visits.  If he’s all Texas all the time people wouldn’t waste visits on him.  He getting all of that out a the way before he commits.

His Mom is 100% bought in, so I would be shocked if he’s not a Longhorn.

(Bill Kurelic) Five-star Bijan Robinson on OSU official visit: ‘Man I loved it’

The Buckeyes have long had two running back targets at the very top of their 2020 running back wish list, Bijan Robinson from Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic and Kendall Milton from California. Milton made his Ohio State official visit the weekend of May 31. This weekend it was Robinson’s turn and the visit went very well.

“Man I loved it,” Robinson said when asked about the visit. “Besides all the glamor and all that stuff, the football talk, attention to detail, and the family culture they have is amazing.”

Robinson is being recruited by Buckeye running backs coach Tony Alford.

“Me and coach Alford’s relationship is tight,” Robinson said. “Being around him and his family was great.”

As one would expect, Robinson also spent plenty of time with Ryan Day.

“He is awesome,” Robinson said. “We talked a lot during the trip, but at the end when we all really spoke on things, it was good to speak about different things.”

Robinson has a list of scholarship offers that includes Ohio State, Texas, USC, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama and Michigan.

“Very, very high,” Robinson answered when asked to describe his interest now in Ohio State. “OSU (is a) different level.”

However, Robinson has more official visits to take.

“That was the first one and I got USC tomorrow and then Texas on Friday,” Robinson said.

Robinson’s player host was J.K. Dobbins.

The 6-foot-0 and 200-pound Robinson led Salpointe Catholic to the Arizona state championship game and a final record of 13-1 record last season. Robinson had rushed for 2,300 yards and 34 touchdowns heading into the last game of the season - a game Salpointe Catholic lost to Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro.

Robinson is a 5-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite. He is the country’s No. 22 overall 2020 prospect, the No. 4 running back and the No. 2 prospect in Arizona

Gimme those 12 plus what we have, plus karic, then add johnston and one more wr, and I’d be at a very high level of gruntlement.

Also if they could all commit by the end of summer and keep recruiting each other so that the staff can focus on the season and on 2021, that would be nice. Just putting that out there for the consideration of the universe.
