It is actually common for coaches to not get full amount of contract if terminated without cause.

Football times just don't match sprinter times. Hundreds? Ain't no fucking way. This dude is known for his starting ability, holds the 60m world record, holds the 6th fastest 100m of all time and posted a 4.12 (what looks like an extremely unofficial 4.12, btw). Sprinters don't train for the 40 the way football players do. I'd be surprised if you could find more than 20 or 25 track athletes that could post a sub 4.2. Let's keep in mind that you make a lot more money playing football than running track. Edited March 7, 20241 yr by ztejas

March 7, 20241 yr Coleman says his start is "way more efficient" now than when he ran that 4.12, so I'm not sure that's the gotcha you think it is. I hope this challenge is accepted (no reason not to, really): RG3 offers C Coleman $100K if he can run a sub-4 sec 40

March 7, 20241 yr Texas always has small buyouts, where have y'all been? It comes from the "if they don't want to be here then we're not making them stay" perspective, which works when you're a place people generally don't want to leave.

For those of you with equally bad math skills, here's the actual math: Quote Should Sarkisian be let go after the 2024 season without cause, Texas would owe him $54,315,000. If let go after the 2025 campaign, Texas would be on the hook for $45,475,000. Following 2026, his buyout decreases to $36,550,000. An early termination without cause after the 2027 season would result in a $27,540,000 buyout for Sarkisian. A parting of ways after 2028 would mean Texas owes Sarkisian $18,445,000. If Sarkisian and Texas ended their relationship after the 2029 season, Texas would owe $9,265,000.

April 20, 20241 yr Popular Post I wonder what all this feels like to Sark. Given interviews, he's clearly feeling it. He outright says he is aiming to be on the level of DKR or Mack Brown, i.e. a generational coach at UT. I feel like compared to many other coaches, I've heard more about Sark's very long struggles to get here. I can't imagine what this excitement feels like for him, to see his life's work coming together at the right time, the crescendo looking like it'll line up with one of the most critical periods in school history. What does it feel like to become a legend in real time? To watch a legacy cement and know that people will talk about you even after you are dead. Especially when you're doing it on a legit second chance after you fucked it up the first time. I can't imagine the swing in validation, from the lowest point in your life, to quite literally achieving your life dream. I sincerely hope Sark becomes what he wants to become and takes us to the top with him, I want some good stuff to happen to UT football. I am a flawed person, I have had bouts with addiction in the past, and everyone feels inadequate sometimes. I love redemption stories, and flawed heroes. I see in Sark a person who isn't perfect but is still striving for greatness. It inspires me and makes me want to be better than I am. Edited April 20, 20241 yr by WelfareBuysMyWeed
