Upon finding out that Venezuelan females were killed, Drumpf's sole words of angst for the actions of our troops would just be an exact quote from Heathers: "Jesus God in Heaven, why'd you have to kill such hot snatch?"

They were too old for him anyway

Lol @ thinking they will be getting anything cheap after the first wave of corporate looters gets their hands on the wealth of the country. The Venezuelans celebrating "libertad" in the streets are going to get a cold hard lesson in capitalism soon too.

I'm not convinced American companies sre going to be lining up to join in this shitshow. These wouldn't be 6 month projects. How long before Trump is dead/out of office/ loses interest and your shit all gets nationalized again?

The only "Monroe" Doctrine Trumps knows...

This is a good post.

But regarding your last paragraph, I don't think the Trump administrations is too stupid to understand the politics. I think they simply don't give a shit.

They have absolute power and are wielding it. Every single they do is for themselves and their wealthy friends. Regular people - including diehard MAGA - mean absolutely nothing to them. We are navel lint.

I don't think we're gonna have to wait until 2028 to see if this country is still effectively under Trump's rule moving forward. The mid-term election in November will tell us everything. And IMO nothing is off the table. They might rig it, they might cancel it, maybe we get a free and fair election. We'll see. But our future will be decided in about 10 months.

And regarding your last paragraph, I completely agree with your view of the situation, but I feel like I'm losing my mind because it just doesn't seem to me like very many other people appear to understand that.

It's Cassandra-like. I hope I'm merely going crazy, but I fear I'm not.

Oh they will trip over themselves for this. You have to remember they have been trying to get oil sanctions lifted for ages both big oil and Venezuela. Chevron was a big lobbier for years and years and they were already operating there with "wink wink" no profits going to the government. It has kinda been proven that the Orinoco belt is too unique for anybody but the big 3. Not even China is interested and they are doing some crazy drilling domestically.

Couples with the fact that they will be able to ship the traditional oil to the Gulf and just in saving the discount oil they sold to China and transport you got a 🤝 negotiated under the guide of a dog and pony show.

They won't nationalize because they already know how that went. But who knows if when they lose power but it will certainly not be under trump.

Instead it is dog and pony show. But the experiment did fail regardless. There needs to be a second republic one dedicate to eternally vigilant against fascism.

It's corruption at such a breakneck pace, I think they're more like looters running through a store grabbing what they can, while they can. They know they're going to get away with it, but they just don't know how long the best shit is going to be on the shelves.

The Heritage Foundation / Project 2025 people are playing the long game and they've put what they want in place to usher in the constitutional convention which is where they cement everything for the next 200+ years.

Just now hearing his actual press conference. The “media” is a bunch of simpering fools.

Media: “Oh, so how are you going to run Venezuela?”

Dotard: “well we are deciding right now. Probably some of these people behind me for a while.”

Media: great answer, no notes, no follow up

I would expect russia / iran / china will be backing rebels. $5k for every dead american invader

I think they are trying to do it now, before the midterms,

This is all going to end well I’m sure.

We would be dumbasses to fly fucking Chinooks over a capital city again. Still can’t believe we got away with that. Donnie, Lil Marco, and Whiskey Pete got Maduro, but beyond that, I don’t know how we don’t start taking casualties.

I think that’s why Trump is threatening the VP. He has no leverage other than threat of death.

If anyone believes Maduro's capture will bring 'stability,' then you probably also thought Saddam Hussein's departure gifted the Middle East a legacy of unparalleled calm. Bless your heart.

We have the best and brightest on the case:

One unexpected outcome of the tariffs has been bringing back manufacturing of cocaine to the United States. Now were a net exporter.

Is this all a plan to get to Cuba? What is the endgame? Cant be as simple as… uh… you know?

If we cut off Venezuelan oil shipments to Cuba, we send Cuba spiraling in.

And both Rubio and Trump are saying Cuba is next.

Cuba might have bene the main goal all along.

us big pharm wants to shut down cuban health care ....

Cuba's government-run healthcare system is known for its focus on universal, free, and preventative care, emphasizing community-based primary care with a high doctor-to-patient ratio, achieving strong health outcomes like low infant mortality and high life expectancy despite economic challenges and shortages of medicines and equipment, making it a model for some developing nations but facing infrastructure issues.

That…seems like a stretch.

Esper’s memoir has quite a bit about Maduro and what was discussed then, while absolute cocksuckers littered the first admin they were at least a few semi adults at the table who were able to thwart exactly what trump is doing now. This scenario was pretty well outlined in the book, including bombing the port.

im calling it now, Maduro is going to 'confess' to helping rig the 2020 election

If Trump wants to believe this stuff is easy and keeping Epstein out of the news, and take a swing at Colombia...he's going to get a lot of Americans killed. We will see how that plays out with the folks back home.

That seems as simple an explanation as any used by this administration to justify its actions.

The thing about Panama is that Reagan and then Bush were working with Congress and getting Congress involved. The US military spent years gaming out scenarios and the politicians developed plans for once Noriega was captured or killed. That didn't happen here.

Plus, in the run-up to the invasion, Panama declared war on the US, and Panamanian forces killed a US Marine Corps officer and captured a US Navy officer and wife.

Panama had its issues, but it was a lot more clear-cut than this operation, where we have no plans for what to do now that we captured Maduro.

We’re shooting from the hip here so to speak. As someone whose life has involved a fair amount of decision-making that would have that as a descriptor I can safely say this won’t end well for Venezuela.

There are lots of good properties there. Some are saying that the beachfront is some of best in the world. A big man, a Cuban man came up to me with tears in his eyes and said “sir, we need a Trump resort in Havana. We need 36 holes of lush fairways and fast greens”

Fun Fact: If Maduro was in the Epstein files he'd be safe at home in his bed right now

How much money will it cost US taxpayers to entice western oil companies to go back into Venezuela? I figure that we will need to foot the any capital costs and offset any losses due to increased supply. Trump has to be made to look right even if it’s a financial disaster.

During the hurricane sharpie fiasco, if scientifically possible , Trump would have ordered the hurricane to hurt Alabama to prove him right.

At least they’re honest this time that they just want the oil. Not that it matters to modern republicans whose sole view on public policy is “whatever dear leader says is good.”
