This seems like a lot of words to say “All A U Can SMD!”

Daddy98 spitting truth about them being gay.

So let's see what last season had to say:

Early was better than Schloss because he's the one who made the team win.

All of their players came back to win a NC, only to fall flat on their faces.

They're coming to Austin to Liv our asses.

Did I miss anything?

I love aggy baseball having their version of an even less qualified Rodney Terry at the helm.

The falloff from season start to now is so good.

From my quick count from last year's schedule, in 7 of 68 games they scored 2 or fewer runs. This year, they are already at 3 in 9 games.

Turning the tables on aggy logic when Earley was retained, was Schloss really the brains behind their hitting last year?

Ya think?

They have plenty of vagina.

As always there’s so much stupidity there, but I’d like to give a special shoutout to the guy who concluded that after going from 5-0 to 5-4 this week with losses to 4 unranked teams, they are “likely” going to lose that #1 ranking.

Thanks for quoting that and giving me a second laugh at it.

The failure rate of their teams after promising starts is epic.

A whine post about tu resurfaced on TexAgs from 12/1. Opening post was about how we ruined their SEC play and they need to escape us for good. The usual BLAH. A few posts amused as they pertain to baseball.

Somebody chose integration as the starting point for proving how average tu is since  "the early 1970s." That notion was stomped and Sgt Barry Saddler steps up to remind us...

I forgot about their view that Texas hiring away their baseball coach was some sort of national scandal in which everyone is shaming Texas for making the move.

I don’t think I ever heard anyone nationally treating it as anything other than Texas big brothering ATM and finding it amusing. The only time it will ever come up again will be when Texas plays ATM, and it certainly won’t be cast as a mark of shame for UT.

This is truly delusional fantasy shit.

But then they hired away from Texas the unpaid assistant who was the force behind their CWS run.

I think what makes a great coach in baseball is why Augie will likely be the best of all time, it wasn't about physical development as much as it was about mental development. Augie was a absolute master at getting his kids mentally prepared. Schlossnaggle is absolutely great at this as well. Earle has no fucking idea how to do it and it shows.

It would be interesting if there was some insider info on how Earley is dealing with everything. I remember Aggie was saying that Florida state created a lot of the problems Jimbo was dealing with and that he just needed a new change of scenery. Then in the first year, there was reports saying that Jimbo’s office was an unorganized mess and he was starting to repeat bad culture decision’s that plagued Florida State. Of course Aggie just turned a blind eye.

With Earley’s lack of experience, the alarm bells have to be going off on what the future holds with him as the head coach. I imagine they will figure things out this year because the lineup is too good but the overall results will be well below expectations.

I don’t follow college baseball nearly as closely as CFB, but dropping 13 spots in one week seems bad. Is that bad?

Not as bad as it should have been. They're still getting too much benefit of the doubt.

However, their next six are UTSA, Texas Southern, NMSU x3, and PVAMU leading up to SEC play, so I'm sure the roller coaster will reset.

Nonetheless, I'll be willing to bet they'll be back to bitching midway into SEC play.

The little I know about college baseball is that good teams regularly drop games to lesser opponents, particularly mid-week games. However, those are usually isolated events and not strung together. It also seems very hard to rank in the pre- and early season because the variables in CBB roster management are even more complex than CFB.

But losing 4 in a row to unranked teams, then dropping 13 spots sure seems pretty bad. I don’t follow it closely enough to know if anything like that has happened recently.

It's not great, but they are the highest ranked 4-loss team in the country. And I will tell you, once Earley fully awakens the sleeping giant despite his coaching degree from Charlie Strong University, watch out.

You're correct. That shouldn't, and frankly doesn't, happen. A one-off game to a midweek opponent when you're not even pitching one of your top-three starters; sure. But a number one-ranked team losing four-straight and scoring a total of seven runs in the process? They're ranked too high...

It's too early in the season for rankings to really matter a whole lot. But it should be obvious to most that they were not deserving of the top spot and Earley being voted "Preseason SEC Coach of The Year" was a bit myopic.

We'll see. They certainly have talent. But their entire strategy at the plate, as well as basically every other coach and coaching strategy, now reside in Austin. They look like an entirely different team - because they are in almost everything but many of the roster names.

Obviously still very early, but these hitting stats are interesting:

2024 Texas - .288 avg, .523 slg, .378 OB

2024 aggy - .298 avg, .543 slg, .415 OB

2025 Texas - .310 avg, .534 slg, .406 OB

2025 aggy - .247 avg, .452 slg, .371 OB

Our stats mirror last year's aggy stats, improved across the board, while ag has shit the bed this year. Obviously the meat of our schedule will be SEC play, but we've already put up double digit runs against 5 P$ teams so far.

Yep. Regarded. In fact, they swept the three major preseason individual awards:

2025 preseason SEC individual awards

  • Coach of the Year: Michael Earley, Texas A&M
  • Player of the Year: Jace Laviolette, Texas A&M
  • Pitcher of the Year: Ryan Prager, Texas A&M
  • Freshman of the Year: Derek Curiel, LSU
  • Newcomer of the Year: Blake Cyr, Florida

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous of which is, ‘never get involved in a land war in Asia,’ but only slightly less well-known is this: ‘Never go in against aggy when hypothetical award votes are on the line!’”

I realized recently that there’s a better than decent chance that the coaches listed in Liucci’s ‘next come the championships’ tweet win more championships for Texas than for A&M

"... number one-ranked team losing four-straight and scoring a total of seven runs in the process?"

Losing an early season mid week game? No Biggie.

Losing 4 in a row with a talented and experienced team? ... hmmmm?

Scoring 7 runs in 4 games? Not just the offense and meltdowns at the plate, but fielding errors, the normal early season pitching issues, and base running gafs.

They aren't just losing, they are getting smoked.

SEC! SEC! SEC! gonna be a tough road for them.

When the players pick the coach, you have to wonder how the off-season training went and then they start the season on a 4 game skid. Says something imo.

Go look at Schloss' last PC "if the tournament has a trophy we want to win it. "

Gomer is missing him bad. They now have a player run team and it shows.

The Earley experiment feels a whole lot like the Rodney Terry experiment.

Also, isn't Earley a hitting coach? Why do they suck at hitting now?

I don't think Rodney was an experimental hire; most people knew his prior head coaching record suggested it was unlikely to work out. However, he performed so well in a difficult situation that he earned a chance. When he got hired, I mentally started counting down to who would be the next elite hire, as it was clear Terry wasn't the answer.
