  • This postseason has become more sentimental for me and my wife's family.  My father in law is the biggest Astros fan I know.  He watches every game without fail, even DVRing them if he can't watch liv

Toro is basically a shitty ballplayer that had one great moment in the JV no hitter, plays like shit against the league, and is a HOFer against us.
Altuve could have ended this nonsense by catching that liner.

Hand does not count as part of the bat. And it can’t be a HPB if he swung.   Which he clearly did. And lulz at making the call based on what you saw on the radio

i didn't say i saw it on the radio.  that would be an absurd statement.  ford and sparks discussed it for a bit, which is what i'm relating here.

goddamnit.

Why the fuck is Pressly still the closer?

I know but what has he done lately?  Blow the game, that’s what!

He was 21/24 for saves before today. I didn't see you complaining when he got 31 people out in a row or whatever it was

I’m not at all anti Presley- but 84% save conversion doesn’t seem real elite to me.

Pressly doing it the hard way tonight

Always turns out hard when you promptly throw four wide to start your "save."

It happens to every closer.

It just sucks when it happens to us.

That one stings a little after watching them scrap to get back in it and then take the lead.   Get ‘em tomorrow boys.

How about 20 for his last 22.

Odorizzi Sunday!!!

That’s probably elite I would guess. I have not looked at numbers for a while but I thought 90% used to be considered the cut line for elite closets. Could be wrong. It’s all pretty small sample size.

15 closers better than 84%, but most of that just barely. 4 guys 90 and up. That’s the cut line I guess?  Which is basically a difference of 2 blown saves over the course of a year from elite percentage to middle of the pack?
Like I’ve said before- he’s fine as a closer.

I'm not going to call Ryan the best closer ever but when people complain about him I would like to hear a solution. The only thing I could think of would be Montero in the closer role. I think they are best where they are but that would be my only answer. Montero also struggled as a closer in Seattle.

He’s the best option on our roster.  Bullpen guys are so up and down from year to year that his contract and position makes sense. When you string together multiple successful years you are doing something a lot of other guys don’t.

If we can't get Bell and Contreras, I'd take Bell and Vasquez:

Do you mean JD Martinez in the second part?

If my team was out of contention, I’d dump as many expiring contracts as possible for any prospects

This team seems to have a predilection towards getting buttfucked by former players.

What about Yordan owning Gerrit Cole?

Give me a break. You know in your heart that Pressly is not a lock down closer and you’d be shitting bricks like the rest of us seeing him try to close games during the playoffs.

So Fiers is altruistic in his avoidance of starts against the Boys from H-town?

This is the way.

I know he's not a lock down closer, but he's really good.
