So, just to make sure I'm not oversimplifying things, the success of Jung/Luthen/Kleya's revelation is that it gave Tivik's intel credence, seeing how they both, independently, had the name Erso? Without Kleya, Tivik is a jumpy, C-tier informant who's probably ripe for some counter-intelligence about a so-called pilot defector. Neither piece, on its own would have resulted in much action from the shaky Rebellion leadership. That about sum it up?

Yes.

Remember Draven had been ignoring Tivik and the correllian treaty members had been in-fighting/spying on Saw as a terrorist cell making things “worse” on Jehda.

Tivik puts the whole Ghorman power, Jedha kyber, “weapon” intel from Luthen/Kleya into verified “planet killer”.

What's more, it's Tivik who answers the question "What kind of weapon?" Until he mentions it's a "planet killer," nobody on the Rebel side knew what made it so scary.

Filoni would never make that kind of canon mistake.

Just re-watched Secret Cargo. Gave me goose bumps.

Andor series gives everything so much more gravity and life. Like ripples in a pond.

Chopper is the best Droid character with K coming in a close second IMO.

Flip em but yes.

Rewatching R1 in pieces: why did Andor have a hard time getting a meeting with Saw? Was it just Saw’s growing fanaticism / paranoia / psychopathy or something more specific?

He was all hopped up on goof balls

I’m an OG Star Wars fan.  Mom took me to see Ep IV in the theater when I was five.  I love it so much that I’m not super-discerning with SW content.  If it’s got the brand on it, I’ll watch it and probably find something to enjoy about it.

That said… Andor feels like a huge gift.  It tells a compelling story very closely connected to the stories that hooked me when my age was in single digits.  It’s completely new, but still tickles the nostalgia.   The magic is still there.

I went ahead and rolled into R1 right after finishing the final episode.  It was really amazing to me how seamless everything continued.  I was just going to watch the beginning, but it was so much more enjoyable after watching Andor that I went through the whole thing.  I wanted to roll right into ANH, but it was already after 2:00 am.  I fully agree with whoever it was that posted that the Andor season should be the official Star Wars prequels now.  I never even watched those things and I hate them

Clone Wars fixes so much about the prequels it makes Anakin a much better character

In Rebels they fill in more blanks - Saw doesn't play well with others and sees enemies everywhere. The Yavin rebels have been sending spies into his camp - Mon said as much - so it helps contextualize his accusations of "A SPY??"

First time through, my brain read this as “Attack of the Clones fixes so much about the prequels” and I was like WTF?!?!

After Andor, the member berries stuff in R1 feels forced. There was no reason for Cass and Jyn to run into the Tattooine criminals in Jedha, or for the random 3PO / R2 scene. Mon, Organa, Leia and Vader all served the plot so they felt like they fit.

K2SO is great though. I know it won’t happen but I’d like to see what those two got up to in the year between Andor S2E11-12.

Pretty harsh to say about Solo...

Yep, as well as Rebels(my fave of the animated and probably 2nd, at worst 3rd, to the first 2 seasons of Mando

Same. Watched that and rebels during the pandemic. Turned me into a mild fanbois.

I was on the clone wars and rebels from the jump.  Filoni knows what he's doing...and I'm glad Gilroy did his different, while not shitting all over what Filoni set up...actually allowing the Rebels episode where they took Mon to Yavin stand on it's own.

I've been the biggest Filoni fan for forever. His later animated stuff were incredible, especially the final 2 episodes of Clone Wars. Rebels was started slow but was outstanding in the final 2 seasons. Bad Batch was enjoyable.

With that said, his live action stuff has been pretty meh. I'm hoping the success, story telling, acting, and general awesomeness of Andor makes him realize his live action has much room to improve.

I'm hoping Disney understands the bar which has been raised and stop greenlighting absolute shit shows which were doomed from the start from shit writing and acting.

Why don't they just back up the hard drives, memories, and personality of every good droid and upload it into a new droid if it ever gets destroyed? The Rebels can have another K2 and Lando can get his sex droid back.

I’m starting a rewatch from Season 1 tonight.  I’m going to go through to R1. I’ve got a 3 day weekend coming up, so I may be able to finish the entire series by Monday.

Was thinking about this while I was at Jury Duty today.  I hate the sequel trilogy even more now (Episodes VII-IX).  Makes it seem like everything before the sequel trilogy was irrelevant and didn't even matter.

Bix has been gone for more than a year at that point.  I'm sure Andor has a lot of built up ammo ready to fire at this point.....

I never got that impression.  They were two people in a hopeless situation facing their immediate mortality.  They helped comfort each other as they knew what was inevitable a few moments later.  No need to die trying to run or hide.

This is enjoyable. I love that he straight up destroyed the comic version of K2's origin. That's one aspect I do not enjoy, the idea that comics are canon. I specifically don't like it because not all of the writers are good at writing these stories like Gilroy can.

There's a whole episode of Clone Wars, early on, on why this is a bad operational idea.
