Nobitex, Iran’s largest crypto exchange, appeared to have suffered a major security breach on Wednesday, resulting in over $48 million in losses, according to blockchain sleuth ZachXBT.

After the incident surfaced, Gonjeshke Darande, also known as Predatory Sparrow, a pro-Israel hacktivist group, claimed they were behind the attack.

The hackers accused Nobitex of helping the Iranian regime bypass sanctions and claimed the Iranian government used the platform as part of its financial and military infrastructure.

The group said it would release Nobitex’s internal source code and data within 24 hours, warning users that any assets left on the platform after that time would be at risk.

Always a promising sign of good things to come!

The quoted video reminded me of the video of Afghan men shaving their beards and cursing the Taliban around the time of the U.S. invasion.

I pretty much agree with all that -- it's likely too late for any other scenario other than the course we're currently on unless, for whatever reason, Trump surprises us all and decides to not go through with it.

If that's indeed the case, then we can just start discussing the duration of the war and degree of suffering this will cause over the short- and long-term, including the severity of blowback and bloody consequences.

I get where your head is at. My thinking is that the best way to analyze an issue, in audio visual where I work or world events is KISS. Try approaching one issue at a time. If a speaker isn't working in a room, check the connection in a room, then the output device, wire, power, and network switch prior to the back end programing of the control system.

So right now in the ME, THE item is war between Iran and Israel. That one thing cascades to all the others. None of us know how it will end and discussion of that specific aspect is more relevant than what happens after. Particularly because we don't know how the first part ends, figuring out the post stems out into so many possibilities that it's not productive, imo. Doesn't mean I don't think others shouldn't, I just think it falls outside the lines of discussions I'm interested in and current news worthy discussion.

I think they can and possibly would.

Sometimes countries can find their own autonomy post regime change. Most posters here, due to historicals, have completely dismissed the Iranian peoples ability of self determination and self rule. It's myopic and a discredit to the humans living in the country of Iran.

They are a proud and historical amazingly strong people.

I DO get the historical realities of the ME, but to automatically assume with certainty that the Iranian people are completely incapable of self determination is frankly racist.

I don't get where you're seeing anyone, much less most posters, saying or even implying "that Iranian people are completely incapable of self determination," but agree that it would be a racist statement, were anyone saying that.

Speaking only for myself on this, the main concern is that a decision in favor of regime change can't be rushed or taken lightly. We (the West), and most importantly, the Iranians themselves, will have to live with those consequences. To mitigate the negative effects, both direct and indirect, a plan should be in place to prevent bad actors from taking advantage of the situation, which could easily lead to political chaos, violence, and civilian suffering.

How do you prevent such an environment from taking hold? Well, someone needs to provide security and keep the peace so that civil society can thrive. Who's going to do that? Obviously, the IRGC, as an organization, and its leaders have $profitted immensely during the reign of the mullahs, so I don't suspect they'll be willing partners in shedding their current wealth and privilege. The regular army? Perhaps, but I know very little about their capacity to do that: leadership, training, etc. An outside force, as Inka has previously suggested, comprised of Canadians, Nordic countries, various Latin American and/or African nations? Is there a coalition to ensure they're on board?

I'm asking not so stubborn as to let any hypothetical perfect plan stand in the way of a good one. All I'm asking is, "What is the fucking plan?" if we're going to do this.

As for our experiences of the recent past in the region, my doubts aren't with the capacity of the people living in these places. Rather, they're with the capacity of the people, who are not living in these places, making these decisions.

Go back and read your own post, what I underlined and the post of everyone else who has clearly posted that the West will determine what happens and all signs point to shit. In short, the west has to come up with the plan to ensure the success of Iran if the current regime is overthrown. Or, more aptly, the US regime is going to make Iran a puppet, because Iran is incapable of self determination and its exactly what the US always does. So, keeping the current Iranian regime in place is better than the US helping Israel over throw them because both leaders of those countries are evil and the people Iran sure as fuck can't lead themselves if they are left to their own devices.

You’re not getting it.

If the West breaks it, we buy it. It becomes our responsibility to restore order once we topple their government. We have to help them have a peaceful environment so that they can then determine their future. A democratic, secular government doesn't just spring forth from a mound of rubble. It requires quite a bit of tending to, as we are now seeing here back home ourselves.

Same as Palestine. The ground conditions in both Gaza and the West Bank have never been in place to allow them their own self-determination. Rather, we, the West, have been complicit in supporting an occupying power that willfully denies them the same, and many on this board have been quite vocal in saying that the Palestinian people are incapable of doing so.

Oh I do get it! They are not capable of creating their own peaceful environment. They are not capable of creating their own road map to a their new government structure. We have to create said road map because as newly freed people they won't be able to do so.

Bibi has been saying this, more or less, for the past decade and a half and yet, Iran has never completed the puzzle. Yes, we need Iran back at the table to talk about denuclearization but using the argument that "they're almost there, we think, but it's ambiguous" to bomb Tehran is disingenuous at best.

Creating chaos, uncertainty, and portraying a bigger enemy to world is a great way to shift focus from the mass genocide that is happening.  So instead the world has shifted their focus to Iran and not talking about the war crimes being committed.  Also, can someone answer how long Iran has had uranium in that facility?  Did they get this uranium last week?  Has the world known about this bunker?  If so, for how long?  Judging by the fact that they can't seem to do much of any damage against Israel with their current shitty weapons, I'm not sure that they can develop a nuke or be able to even launch one.   With everything said, if they are close to having a nuclear weapon, the yes... actions need to be taken to prevent that from happening.  I still have not seen any evidence put out there from the news that they are close to having a nuclear weapon.  And until I see this evidence, this is Bibi shifting attention from the below:

Spoiler
As of late May 2025, reports indicate that the number of confirmed dead children in Gaza from the conflict since October 7, 2023, is at least 16,500, according to the Hamas-run Ministry of Health in Gaza.
It's important to note:
  • Varying figures: Other sources offer similar high numbers, with Al Jazeera reporting at least 17,400 killed children since October 7, 2023, including 15,600 identified.
  • Thousands more missing: Many thousands more children are reportedly missing under the rubble and are largely presumed dead.
  • Traumatic impact: The surviving children have experienced severe trauma, with many enduring multiple wars.
  • Highest number of child amputees per capita: 25,000 children in Gaza have been injured, resulting in the highest number of child amputees per capita globally.
  • Thousands of children identified by name: The Ministry of Health in Gaza has released lists of the names of the children who have been killed.
  • A "graveyard for thousands of children": The United Nations has described the Gaza Strip as a "graveyard for thousands of children".

Two points:

(1) you need to see Iran inflict damage on Israel before you *authorize* Israel to act against a regime that funded Hamas to committ atrocities like Oct 7th, has funded groups that has literally sent tens of thousands of rockets to Israel, and openly advocates for their complete destruction?

(2) the arrogance of some random internet poster stating you need evidence before being okay with something (that you know nothing about) is fucking hysterical.

Personally, I think I'd get rid of aggy first. I have tons more friends who went to OU than aggy. They are much more normal people. As long as they're not led by Switzer or somebody like Stoops, who Mack couldn't consistently beat, I got no real beef with the Sooners. I guess it's fun to laugh at aggy but if we're cutting one of Iran, OU or aggy, I think I'm taking aggy out.
