Yes, I'm aware and actually Biden has done the same thing Trump has done in regards to the border. My point is to demonstrate to the American people just how much Republicans do not care about solving anything to do with immigration and that they're simply using your hate to push you to vote them back into office. No one wants to try and sort of plan that could help relieve the issues at the border. Our last best chance on that died when W wouldn't push harder for it.

And yeah, I'm a white heterosexual male so I'll be just fine if Trump is back in office. But my daughters, my wife, and all the other non-white males are people I would prefer not get turbofucked by MAGA who only seem to care about people like me. How anyone in a minority group can feel comfortable with another Trump presidency is beyond me given the current assault on voting rights, DEI being a boogeyman where simply being a different shade than white means you were handed your position out of a quota and not merit, a rollback of any civil rights gains through the Supreme Court, a system that may question your immigration status based simply on your skin color or last name, and a return to no questions asked "law and order". All things he is saying he will do. Last time, people said "don't take him literally but take him seriously" and what's the harm he can do. Well because of that my daughters might not get life saving care if they stay in this f'ing state when they decide to have children because of Trump. So yeah, not too keen on part 2 and the generational effects he could have on us.

Trump gives zero fux about reproductive rights, dei, or anything else besides himself. Unfortunately, millions of your brethren do and they are the problem. He is just pandering to them to get their vote. He is not going to work to get anything done for them.

Hell, he's not the president now, and Texas will jail your females for seeking that life saving care.

I'm not afraid of Trump.  I'm afraid of the rest of the quiet ones who are lining up to get what they think is their share of his support.

When they get screwed over they're going to be madder than they are now.

By then, we'll be bought out anyway.

It still boggles the mind that people that are of a different persuasion (non white, non Christian) of any sort vote for Republicans.  The delusions of thought that you are different, or "they are talking about me" just blows my mind.

I wouldn’t be telling anyone anything. I’m not voting for Trump and I think a lot of his supporters are truly deplorable. I don’t believe ALL of his supporters are evil simpletons that can be manipulated like Weimar Republic Germans. We aren’t in that kind of poor shape economically, and so many are quick to presume if Trump wins we’re gonna replicate Nazi Germany. It’s something we should be very mindful of, but, I believe it an absurd comparison.

Unfortunately, though, I think we are going to get to find out from January 2025 on.

Yea that whole intentional breaking apart families and “losing” the paperwork so they can never be reunited again thing never happened.

Yeah, because our Constitution is embarrassingly backward.

If they aren’t being manipulated, they are selling themselves out for a guy who doesn’t give a shit about them and who doesn’t hold the “values” they claim to have (and arguably that in and of itself is manipulation).

This is true, and even those who are in the lower economic classes have access to distractions like the internet, smart phones,  and big-screen TVs which keep many of them away from taking active parts in protests, etc.. This is not the 1920s where people were not tied down to shiny distractions in their homes.

I doubt it.  Many of the people who would start shit next January blew their wad in 2021, and several hundred who were there are finding out with jail terms, lost jobs, financial ruin, etc..  The lack of action at the various Trump trials is another indicator.

And come next January when Biden is being sworn in again, he will be commander-in-chief, not Trump. I doubt Trump will be able to have any rallies like he did in 2021 either, and if he urges his people to head to the Capitol for some fuckery, it will be very different.

don’t think they’re being manipulated, or a lot of them aren’t. They truly believe he’s the better of two bad choices.

How many of them believe that because of the propaganda and manipulation?

Huh?

It's highly likely that Donald Trump will lose the popular vote for the third time in three elections.

It's also possible that he will be elected president in two of those elections because the Constitution is embarrassingly backward.

It has no relevance to anything I posted.

You’re lamenting comparisons to Nazi’s as though Nazi shit hasn’t already happened. Are you dense?

Nazi’s what?  You misread. I posted the conditions for the rise of a party like Nazism don’t exist today like they did in 20s Germany. But go ahead and continue on the rant you desperately want to perform.

You got me there. Whatever will I do now that people know I fucked up some grammar on the internet.

The point is we are already there. The Nazi shit is happening. So acting like it can’t happen is moronic.
You called it an “absurd comparison”. It’s not, clearly.

I’m saying we will get to find out, because Trump will win.

His backers aren’t nearly as vocal/enthusiastic as they were in 2020.  Republicans won’t shut the fuck up about banning abortion nation-wide and jailing so,en who even think about an abortion.  Republicans are making it harder on some folks to look at porn online.  The list of things that Republicans are doing to turn people off goes on.  He’s not campaigning where he should be (and he’s putting in more hours on the golf course than the campaign trail).

He ain’t winning.

Every Administration does horrific shit. And no, I am not taking up for fucking Trump. But comparing what you’re talking about to exterminating 6 million people is indeed moronic.

Holy shit you’re a moron. As has been pointed out to you multiple times in this thread, these are the steps. They didn’t kill 6 million people the first day.

Comparing them to Nazis, when they use Nazi language, when they do things nazis did, and when they are openly talking about ruling forever, is a pretty apt comparison. You just want to make excuses for reasons. But you’re totally not in the tank at all.

The big thing to come out of November will be even more Republicans  turning on each other. We’ve already seen it openly happening in Congress, and we’ve seen it at various levels from county/city up through state.  There will be a lot of Republicans blaming their losses on Trump (already have been), and a lot of MAGA deciding that the losing is because the other Republicans didn’t MAGA hard enough.

MAGA may hate liberals, but they fucking loathe Republicans who aren’t all in on the Trump Train and see them as traitors.  The fact that Trump controls the RNC coffers is going to make it extremely vicious.  I know some have speculated that because Trump runs the RNC now, that the GOP will split up, but I don’t know.  I can definitely see so,e breaking off.

Correct.
That doesn’t mean we pretend they aren’t doing Nazi shit now.

Also correct.

Our horror show will be a somewhat different one than Germany wrought. But it will be a horror nonetheless. Shit, I thought the vision of a violent mob openly trying to decapitate an entire branch of our government (they weren’t shouting “hang Pence” and “hang Pelosi” for fun) would have snapped us out of this fever dream. Alas…it didn’t even move the needle. We’re going to have to see some pretty horrific shit to make us come to our collective senses.

Oh, and as for the “we’re nowhere close to slaughtering 6 million Jews, the comparisons to the rise of the Nazis is insane” takes…way to miss that the process was, always is, and is now, incremental.

If you’d stumbled on the start of the Bastrop Fire, you’d have seen a pretty small power-line sparked fire. And it seems like a lot of you would have said “why are you freaking out, it’s just a little fire.” Sane people saw that, saw the heat and wind conditions, and said “if you don’t get control of that quickly, it’s gonna get really bad.” Small fires, under predictable conditions, turn into all-consuming conflagrations.
The best time to put out the fire of Trumpism was right when it started.
The second-best time to do so is right fucking now. Because if we don’t stop it, we know how it ends.

I agree but unlike 1860s, it won’t be regional. It’ll be within every major metro area. Neighbor versus neighbor.

Most Americans, even the poor ones, are too comfortable to fuck around and find out in terms of risking things like electricity, running water, the internet, etc.

Shit, the preppers couldn’t handle not being able to go to SuperCuts for a haircut or eating at Chilis.  Those people should have been the most prepared, but turned out to be the biggest fucking snowflakes.

I know it’s incremental but you’re taking giant leaps forward.  You sound hysterical. Like a parent that found a gummy in their teenage daughter’s car assuming she’s into eight balls and prostituion.

Well, when the daughter is also saying openly “I want to do all the drugs and fuck men for money”….MAYBE we have some pretty good reason to suspect the drugs and prostitution thing. That’s what blows me away. We’re not speculating here…we’re mostly QUOTING WHAT THE TRUMP REGIME HAS SAID IT INTENDS TO DO.

This. Do I think the end goal for these people is exterminating all the Jews?  Well, maybe some of them, but by and large, of course not.  Most of them don’t even really have a defined end goal other than keep power any way possible and oppress women and minorities. How do I know that?  BECAUSE THEY FUCKING EXPLICITLY SAY IT AND HAVE ALREADY TAKEN STRIDES TOWARDS THOSE GOALS.

What's the percentage of women at that Libertarian convention, 15%? Surprised it's that high but that's my estimate based on those videos. Of course, several of those might be maga idiots.

I’ve mixed feelings about the Libertarian response to Trump’s propaganda. Contrarian? Yes. Committed to Constitutional Rights? Meh.

Maybe if this thread were about the liberty of trans folk, @Anastasis would be  contributing his anti-libertarian thoughts. Dude might claim he is a libertarian, but the proof of a pudding is in its taste.
