I love John Oliver mainly because of his fearlessness. Last Sunday’s show on Presidential Libraries met the moment in terms of being informative and hilarious. Check it out:

Antifa is an ideology, Phil. This is no different than if an AG under a democratic president said “Yeah we’re gonna be killing conservatives.”

And weird that Democrats are referred to as both Fascists and Anti-Fascist at the same time.

Also, I didn't realize that the cartels were out of business.  Those boats comprised the entire organization?  Damn, cocaine makes you multitask like a fiend.

Another reminder: recent polling indicates that Republican voters trust RFK Jr on medical matters more than....they trust their own doctors.

The fucking singularity of idiocy that we live within....goddamn.

Double the rate of autism vs what other group?  Do those circumsized later or not at all not take Tylenol?

I mean they started off talking about tylenol and pregnant women, then they just switched to whether it's safe for babies. They're very confused, demented old men.

And why does this matter?  Do they think the ICE goons are going to follow any rules?

Yeah, sorta like "whaddya gonna do about it?  Nothing?  That's what I thought."

It feels like the insanity has really ramped up in the past couple of days. What is happening?  He doesn’t know what habeas corpus is, people are seriously talking about him getting a Nobel prize, he’s openly attacking American cities…it’s crossing the line into absurdity and not coming back.

This is our concern, dude.

If ICE is going to act outside the bounds of the law and the Trump admin is going to undermine any hope of recourse for misconduct, the courts should provide some guidance that ICE goons should be treated under the law just like any average joe guilty of aggravated assault / battery - i.e., protestors should be entitled to a right of self-defense, taking into account recent misconduct by ICE officers in deciding whether they have a reasonably belief there is imminent danger.  You want to act like you're above the law?  Sorry, you don't get extra protection when you're operating in that mode.

Ok, this I agree with.  Mainly because people need to start fighting back, not just stand around while these criminals (yes, I believe many of them are J6 rioters) beat the shit out of innocent people.

[/url] The Guardian: US anti-fascism expert blocked from flying to Spain at airport
A Rutgers University professor who taught a course on anti-fascism was blocked from leaving the US for Spain on Wednesday night, according to media reports, hours after Donald Trump hosted a White House roundtable highlighting the impact of antifa – or “anti-fascist” – far-left activists.
Mark Bray, an historian who published the 2017 book Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook, and has taught courses on anti-fascism at the New Jersey university, was attempting to board a plane at Newark airport bound for Europe when he was informed at the boarding gate that the reservations for him and his family had been cancelled.
The professor, nicknamed “Dr Antifa” by a group of students, had said he was moving to Europe after receiving death threats. Turning Point USA activists have claimed he is a “financier” for the leftwing movement.
A petition calling for his removal from the university had been launched in the weeks following the assassination of the Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk and Bray’s home address was revealed on social media.
One threat included a vow to kill him in front of his students, according to the Washington Post. The threats led to Bray’s decision to relocate to Spain with his wife and two children and to continue to teach his students remotely.
“Since my family and I do not feel safe in our home at the moment, we are moving for the year to Europe,” Bray said in an email to students on Sunday. “Truly I am so bummed about not being able to spend time with you all in the classroom.”

So they decided Antifa is bad, which means anti-fascism is bad, which means fascism is now good? Do I have this about right?

They can just make a citizen's arrest.

They just say whatever they think is best at any given time. They have zero regard for consistency or not being hypocritical.

Fine, but coming here to post it as if it changes a damn thing just seems like a waste of time.

A couple governors and the judiciary are currently all we have standing between us and an autocratic regime. I'm baffled how you don't find it relevaant.

Even the governor of fucking Oklahoma seems to be cluing in.

I'd definitely have gone to jail or possibly died if I found out that my flight to Europe was canceled by trump out of spite for one of the dumbest reasons possible. Not to mention that the MAGAts are the reason he wanted to leave in the first place.

He hasn't said on his account one way or the other but it looks like he got on his flight. He posted an interview of him with cnn from today and it looks like a Spanish hotel.

It could've been anything from an errant click by an agent to a turning points nazi faking out the airline and getting them to cancel it.

update: the prof spoke to the press again (horrible operational security ffs) said he still has no idea what happened to his flight reservation, and said he's in a NJ hotel and will try again to get out of Jersey tonight @Hookah Horns

Damn I'm watching Trump live in the Oval Office with Finland's president Stubb. Stubb is so vastly more intelligent and well spoken than Trump it's comical. Dotard literally sounds like a special needs child when speaking next to Stubb.

He is an extreme narcissist. So yes, he believes it. He craves it. It keeps him somewhat stable. And if you don't praise him, he thinks less of what he hears from you.

I just saw that Turning Point USA is going to have "counter-programming" during Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime performance.

What a bunch of fucking children.  No, wait, that's what they do and cover up.  Apparently that's very legal and very cool as long as no one speaks Spanish while they're doing it.
