Trump AG Prospect Warns Letitia James: 'We Will Put Your Fat Ass In Prison'

https://www.threads.netp/@huffpost/post/DCIfVD0PrfT?xmt=AQGzpMr8Ev_tdd99pPPMvfW3wAfangk543SVB7Yg0vIr2Q

Just a note, immunity, as currently construed anyway, will protect Letitia James from prosecution and civil suits.

And, to have a valid civil or criminal case against an official, the case complained of as "conspiracy against rights" or whatever bullshit that asshat spewed, would have had to have been dismissed at an early stage.  When you have judgments of conviction (tax case) and civil liability (fraud case), a lawsuit against the official is stillborn, both by immunity and by the elements of any "malicious prosecution" type cause of action.

We will see.  If the federal government wants to weaponize the law against you, they can sure find something.  At least in my experience from clerking in the Southern District of Texas when the feds were going after all sorts of energy traders in the wake of Enron.  Wire fraud and mail fraud were so broad I am not convinced that each of us could be indicted on a daily basis.  Ms. Willis — who apparently likes to just transact in cash — might have the IRS pay her a visit.

I mean no one is above the law, right?

Wrong, according to the Supreme Court.

The GOP has hypocritically u-turned from Drain The Swamp to Stop Weaponizing The Law. "Lawfare" implies selective prosecution of political enemies that lies outside the norm of standard prosecutions. Trump is not a victim of this. He's had a long documented history of settlements and convictions going back as far as the 70s. He's a recidivist convicted con-artist who has openly bragged he donates to politicians for favors. He's asked "if you're innocent, why plead the 5th?" and then repeatedly pleads the 5th in his own trials. He takes out newspaper ads calling for the execution of indisputably innocent Americans which he refuses to rescind or apologize for when questioned. Had the same standard been applied to Trump as Clinton, he would would have been impeached for being "dishonest" in his written testimony as per Mueller's testimony before Congress, yet is held to a lower standard while perpetually crying victimhood.

The above doesn't matter even if voters for Trump claim they do.

I spent a lot of time in the car yesterday. Got to listen to more analysis now focused on what's wrong with the Dems.

There was lots of Dems perceived as..., the economy perceived as..., and the Biden administration perceived as...

Thank goodness a news organization needn't bother itself with analysing how things can be so errantly perceived. They'd point out that the perception was incorrect and stop there. No mention of how the MAGA electorate came to such wrong conclusions. The discussions advance on how the Dems have soul searching to do to correct these perceptions. They're perceived as elites by the party of the oligarchs!

No discussion about repeated lying mistatements and false claims by the felon and his coterie or how such attacks on truth and reality should be addressed. There was just discussion based on the assumption that some political tactic by the Harris campaign could have been employed to improve her chances in the horse race.

Not a single mention of Christian Nationalism's possible impact on women voting against Harris' stance on abortion. Nothing about how Christian Nationalist leaders provide the megaphone for Trump's fear/hate lying cloaked in the position that God has a position on the election and Dems.

The reality-denying MAGAs aren't going to use a fact sheet like the above to call Trump out on failure. The failure won't be his. It will be the never-Trumpers hiding in the shadows sabotaging our great country for their own gain.

The accusation/confession train rolls along. It was difficult living in a world where reason and fact have so little sway. I become resigned to it.

It's all about spiking the ball and talking shit and really getting those whiny libs.

I still think the democrat party needs to surrender to the Bernie wing of the party, Maga are lunatic psychos, but the election was lost by poor swing voters who could not make ends meet. That and a dangerous abandonment of Gen Z specially the men.

We need to do something about the psycho wing but that is still 45% of the electorate, its not why the dems lost, whoever we still need to do something about the crazies democracy can't die when we live on a knives edge about runnning perfect candidates, luckily populism also gives an edge to not being ultra high strung. Scream about poor people rinse and repeat and there is no way MAGA can pivot against it cause they can't

I’m not giving you my “feels”. I’m telling you what my construction clients are seeing in their futures pricing. G650 is telling you what he is seeing/expecting in materials pricing. The guys on my side have all been in the industry a long-time and they are making plans for increased/unstable material costs and are not locking in long-term contract pricing. You have a short window to accept and a short window to pay for/purchase materials.

Now, my steel guys are falling all over themselves with the proposed increase in the tariffs. Their numbers will go through the roof because their prices increase substantially with tariffs. They can charge more because of foreign material pricing. The end customer pays similar to what he would for imported tariffed steel (xx% higher than without tariffs) and the steel guys here just make a much larger spread. They love it.
