How many years and cost is Carlos left on contract that'll cost astros?

He's owed around $110M from now through the end of the '28 season. Twins are eating $33M, we're on the hook for about $77M.

Per Tags, Sanchez will primarily platoon with Smith in RF. Stros are concerned about Cam's workload.

Dana also said they were looking for pitchers but felt asking costs were too high. Satisfied with the arms that will be returning soon.

the team needed more MLB players, so I'm happy about these trades.  The less I see of Tiny Figurine, Taylor Tram & Short in the lineup the better.

I imagine getting outscored 32-8 during that 5-game losing stretch shook things up a bit.

I guess Altuve is going back to 2nd base.

DH, Yordan’s hand has been amputated.

All of the moves make us much more competitive and versatile in our lineup and defensively, and we don’t have to suffer through Cooper Hummel and Zack Short starts. Plus Brice gets more time to really develop, Cam gets more rest, etc. Going to be a (more) fun end to the season for sure.

My 10 yr old is riding a high like no other. He greeted me at the door when I got home about Correa. Followed by Jesus comments. Then "no more Hummel fly out bat flips." He really really didnt like him.

MLB rule that they had to send a prospect back to the Twins?

Why did the Padres want to deal Cease if they’re buyers? It feels like they were bullshitting the Astros all day and trying to fool Dana into dealing Brice.

No way on pressly. He’s getting dumped for a reason.  But we love retreads around here so I’m sure they’ll sign him.

100%, he was washed his last season with us.  I don’t want to go through that shit again.

Lowe just hit a 2 run homer in the top of the 9th to take the lead on the Yankees. He's been mentioned as possibly Houston bound. Wouldn't want to give up too much, but he'd be a solid pickup

Always thought that dude was a baller

So rewind to Nov 2, 2021:

I wish I could go back to the moment immediately after that video and tell myself you’ll lose Correa…but only for 3.5 years. In the meantime, Astros will win a WS and make it back to another LCS while his replacement wins a WS MVP and turns in to an All Star.

Oh and by the way, you’ll resign Altuve through 2029.

When Correa returns in mid 2025, you’ll have Altuve locked up through 2029 owing him $103M over that stretch and Correa through 2028 for $71M.

Money Maton to the Rangers

I fucking hate that fucking arsonist so this is just the cherry on top of a wonderful fucking day.

Fellas we just replaced 4 fucking piece of shit ass players that we've been playing every day for the last fucking month with Jeremy Fucking Pena, Carlos Fucking Correa, Urias and Jesus.  Those guys are alright.  Who they are playing for instead are awful.

Your best 9 in the playoffs:

Diaz, Walker, Urias, Pena, Correa, Alvarez, Jesus, Cam, Altuve-DH.

Bench- Dubon, Caratini, Matthews, Melton.  That team FUCKS.  The best news is- other than Alvarez all those fuckers are here. So, Melton, Matthews or Caratini in his spot (If Caratini then Altuve to LF and Caratini to DH, if anyone else they play LF) and that team is fucking tits defensively (other than LF) and not a bad hitter offensively.

Whooooooooooooooo!

Also- everyone other than Caratini is back for at least next year. Everyone other than Dubon is back for 2027.  This is awesome!

😂 top comment: “$75M is my favorite Twins player. I love watching $75M play baseball for the Twins. One day I hope to see $75M retired alongside my heroes Joe Mauer, Roster Flexibility, Kirby Puckett, and Team Control.”

Dude should be on surly

Keep in mind that Corea has to hit certain metrics (mostly plate appearances)) for those to be vested options for the next few years. Otherwise they're team options.

Those vesting options don't start until after the 2028 season, no?
