Also let's be real, Dahmer was definitely devoting more than 1% of his time to eating people

Well, I mean.....there's obtaining the right cuts of meat, the prep, setting up the right mise en place....

....then the kitchen cleanup, washing dishes, etc.

All-in-all, I'd guess that his percentage of actual cannibalism-focused activity time was closer to 5% of his time.  So, a real number.  Anything worth doing is worth doing right.

99% of LA is peaceful with no protest (probably more tbh)

Yesterday the mayor said in her pc that LA has 500 square miles, and one square mile is going under curfew. So just from those numbers, it’s 0.2%.

eta:  don’t recall if she said LA county, city, or metro so there may or may not be more area that could be counted as “LA” that’s not part of the protests.  And, we do know that the entire curfew area isn’t actively involved, so that 0.2% is still probably high.

Ah, but the original quote stated "99% of the time this guy wasn't eating people."  I believe that applies specifically to the actual consumption of people.  I think it's a stretch to include meal prep and cleanup.

Some people just love to move goal posts. I've found Edge Lords to be particularly fond of the behavior.

I thought I knew you. Braising human flesh is like boiling a filet mignon. If you aren't using a cast iron skillet and broil, you're just lost in the process.

Depends on the cut.  For a shank, a great braise is hard to beat.

I wasn't cherry picking. They were in photos in two articles I read off Drudge yesterday. I was curious what Party for Socialism and Liberation had to do with all these printed signs at all the protests, then read their website. Photos like these:

Who fucking cares? What's your problem with the message? Nobody gives a shit how much you want to fuck and suck capitalists.

Here's their message from their own website:

Quote

The Party for Socialism and Liberation believes that the only solution to the deepening crisis of capitalism is the socialist transformation of society. Driven by an insatiable appetite for ever greater profits regardless of social cost, capitalism is on a collision course with the people of the world and the planet itself. Imperialist war; deepening unemployment and poverty; deteriorating health care, housing and education; racism; discrimination and violence based on gender and sexual orientation; environmental destruction—all are inevitable products of the capitalist system itself.

For the great majority of people in the world, including tens of millions of workers in the United States, conditions of life and work are worsening. There is no prospect that this situation can or will be turned around under the existing system.

The idea that the capitalists’ grip on society and their increasingly repressive state can be abolished through any means other than a revolutionary overturn is an illusion. Equally unrealistic are reformist hopes for a “kinder, gentler” capitalism, or solutions based on economic decentralization or small group autonomy. Meeting the needs of the more than 6.5 billion people who inhabit the planet today is impossible without large-scale agriculture and industry and economic planning.

The fundamental problems confronting humanity today flow from the reality that most of the world’s productive wealth—the product of socialized labor and nature—is privately owned and controlled by a tiny minority. This minority decides what will be produced and what will not. Its decisions are based on making profits rather than meeting human needs.

There are really only two choices for humanity today—an increasingly destructive capitalism, or socialism.

Oh noooooooo, how fucking scary!!! I'm PISSING MY PANTS!!!

Well there appear to be signs printed by a number of different organizations in many of your pictures (such as ANSWER Coalition ("Act Now to Stop War and End Racism"), etc.).  So yeah, I guess there are lots of people with diverse agendas who all are protesting what by all accounts is an unlawful and unconstitutional use of military force domestically.

Not sure what the point of your initial post was anymore.

It's a deflection away from the actual issue.

Look if people would just lay back, relax and allow masked, unidentified nazis to violently kidnap brown-skinned, vulnerable women, men and children off the streets and from courthouses, things would be much more comfortable, and this would all be over much faster.

Well, you see, since he has disagreements with those weirdos on economic policy, he could never side with them on foundational democracy stuff like the Constitution, civil liberties, and human rights.

So, we find ourselves at an impasse as the Regime tests the boundaries of establishing a racist authoritarian police state where US residents lose due process rights as they’re spirited away to foreign prison camps, and protesting that earns you an ass-beating, a horse-trampling, a rubber bullet to the gut, or a tear gas cannister to the head.

You should probably look up the definition of cherry picking. That's exactly what this is. You found some signs of this organization participating in protests and jumped to the wild conclusion that  "the protests in all these cities are organized by the Party for Socialism and Liberation whose goal is to completely topple capitalism".

The protests aren't organized by that organization. The organization may take part in some of the protests (along with many other organizations and individuals) and it may also organize some of its own protests. Assigning all the protests and protesters to this one organization is a blatant fabrication and ignores the diverse people and groups that oppose the military occupation of the country (read: actual patriots).

This this this.

There are people out there who love liberty, freedom, and the ideals of this country, and oppose those who would turn it into the very kind of apparatus that we have opposed since 1776.  Those people will be the ones marching on Saturday.  Those are actual patriots, NOT the people who wear combat/red white and blue patriot costumes and wave the flag of a republic they don't even believe in.

Well, sous vide is all the rage and one could successfully argue that it is the same method as boiling- submersion in water at a specific temperature.

and here's USDOJ's Table of Authorities to support their pleading. It serves as a roadmap for judges and other readers to quickly identify the sources that support the arguments presented, making it easier to follow the legal reasoning behind the brief.)

The funny thing is the outright honesty of that blank filing for their table of authorities that they're citing to build their opinion.

Trump is hoping to have it both ways and get the good parts from the Posse Comitatus Act and from theoretically invoking the Insurrection Act, while ignoring all the safeguards attached to those laws.

But hey, if the courts rule against him we just have to hope the Executive Branch faithfully executes the law as interpreted by the courts. Gee, who leads the Executive Branch again?
