Bit of a hollow excuse when a 41 year old says that he said dumb things when he was 37.

i don’t recall the exact politician but I remember when a congressman was outed as having an affair in his 50s and at the time he was in his 60s. He called it a youthful mistake. I might have the ages off some. Maybe the ages were 40s/50s instead. It was silly acting like a very grown adult wasn’t responsible for his actions.

it worked for George W. Bush.

There is more and more chatter that Mary Peltola is going to run against Dan Sullivan for that seat in Alaska.  And a number of recent polls show her tied or ahead of him.

As a reminder, she won the at-large House seat in 2020, but was narrowly defeated in 2024.  So she has a record of winning a statewide race.

Alaska is politically a really weird state.  Given the candidate issues the Dems are having in Maine, Alaska may be a more likely pick-up than beating Collins.

How does one establish temporary residence in a swing state

This thread title should be changed to Senate 2026: A Waste Of Time.

There is also independent Dan Osborn in Nebraska, and Sherrod Brown has a polling lead in Ohio. Maine is a blue state, and I don't think Susan Collins hangs on next year regardless of what happens .
