the loss to the cards is the one that will haunt them if they end up 9-7-1.  just a horrible loss.  Tie to the packers should have been a win as well but our D was.

they have a decent chance at 4-2 to close but I'm not sure 9-7-1 is gonna make it.

Truly shitty looking uniforms. Green puke.

Wrong. Those Eagles uniforms were the tits. They should wear those all the time.

ESPN: Packers and Lions averaged 270 yds in offense against the Eagles D.
Dallas offense turned in about 470 yesterday.
That said, those early losses and that tie are going to haunt them.

The losses to the Cardinals and Panthers are killers. The tie isn’t as bad as the Packers are good. The defensive additions — via trade and health — are making a huge difference.

jerry is a dumb ass, and will keep ceedee and they lose Pickens next year

Amazing stat. I noticed in one of Pickens' big catches yesterday he went high to pull it in. Too often these fucking receivers wait for the ball to come down. Pickens had two defenders on him. Had he not gone up, he likely wouldn't have made the catch. He gets my vote.

Lamb, with his 7AM puke in a Las Vegas hotel, is looking like a bad influence on this team.

Contrast that with Clark, who is being highlighted on the sports broadcasts this morning for getting knocked around on that kickoff yesterday, but staying with it and making one of the biggest plays of the game. More like him, please.

The panthers are a decent team and it was on the road.  the Cards suck and it was at home.  just a horrible inexcusable loss. if they end up 9-7-1 and out instead 10-6-1 and in, that will be the one they look back on.

Happy with the win but I’m not expecting anything from his squad week to week. I expect to lose bigly to KC. This is still not close to a playoff team imo.

This. Same for retro Falcons, Chargers, Seahawks, Dolphins, Broncos. Get off my fucking lawn!

Mostly agree with this as long as you're not calling the 80's/90's Chargers uniforms as the retro you want. Go back to the 60's. I kind of like a lot of the combinations they throw together. They mostly work. But stick with the white helmet with yellow lightning bolt for all iterations. I don't mind the current Seahawks look, at least the whites with dark blue pants. Definitely bring back the silver helmet, though. That was the best. The Broncos' retro uniforms are just perfect.

Some of this is probably attributable to Pickens being on a 1 year deal and Lamb already got paid

I dunno. KC has looked like trash at times. Down 21-0 and the cowboys didn’t fold to the SB champs….

The Panthers are barely decent. Their in the worst division in football by a country mile and are -42 in point differential for the season. The Panthers have a -5.2 SRS rating on Football Reference, 25th "best" in the league. The Cowboys' D was atrocious in that game and still nearly won. Carolina is better than it has been but that is still a season-killing loss because the Boys will probably come up a game or two short in pushing for a playoff berth.

And patriots.

The uniforms (minus the white helmets) they wore on their Thursday night appearance were pretty cool. I like that greyed-out shade of blue for the jerseys. (I'm a big uniform snob as you can tell.)

I agree, no reason Cowboys can't win, but we also got crushed by Arizona, and while the comeback was cool, going down 21-0 is almost always a loss. It's clear the problem is inconsistency, primarily (though not exclusively) on defense. So we very well can win but I don't expect anything positive from week to week and generally go into each game expecting to lose. Jerry Jones has killed all enthusiasm I've had for this franchise but its too engraned from my childhood to ever stop caring at least a little bit.

If we're talking inexplicable losses, don't overlook the Bears. They are the fraudiest 8-3 of all time. It's all tight wins over terrible teams and their point differential is -3.

Marcus Mosher said this morning on LoC that Q. Williams had a 25% puss rush win rate and 8 pressures. Unbelievable.

Hell, my puss rush win rate is closer to 80%.

Hate to break it to you, but he's always been a bad influence on this team. He can talk a good game and teammate, but he doesn't actually live it. This isn't the first year he's had a case of the drops. It's not the 2nd either. And him being unclutch and dropping passes in big games is nothing close to a new phenomenon. At his absolute most "locked in" he's a Top 8-ish receiver in the league. But locking in requires focus and attention that he doesn't possess.

I've been playing around with The Athletic's playoff simulator this morning and it's worse than I thought.

The gist of it is that we have to finish at least 0.5 games ahead of both Chicago and Carolina (bc both have the tiebreaker over us). Then we also need at least one of Detroit, San Francisco, Seattle, or I guess maybe Green Bay to collapse pretty thoroughly.

Root for the Panthers tonight (even though we need them to lose as well, the model thinks it will be much easier for us to get ahead of them versus passing the 49ers).

Finishing 8-8-1 doesn't get it done. 9-7-1 and we've got a chance, but not a great one. 10-6-1 probably gets it done.

He was locked in on his sidepiece’s phone

Yep. He had a big drop that set the tone for the Packers playoff game a few years ago, too. GB had just rammed it down our soft defense's throat opening drive and he drops an easy catch on 3rd down and we punt and the rest is history. Someone needs to take the 88 away from him because Irvin and Pearson actually made the big plays when it mattered most. Lamb? Complete opposite. Hell, even throw Dez in there. Lamb's act is old.

Not sure how Pickens would do without Lamb on the opposite side. I know he's a headcase but he does require attention. Not sure the last time we had an offense with 2 legit WRs who commands a lot of attention. We had Miles Austin and Cole Beasley put up numbers but not sure those guys are on this level. Which then can open up the rest of the field, including the run game. But I don't know about tying up all that money into 2 WRs. This is the route the Bengals went and it hasn't did shit. Even when Burrow is healthy. They have Chase and Tee Higgins.

Not sure what the clown show hillbilly front office is going to do with this core and how they address the defense, which really needs a complete makeover.
