Much better progress as of this morning from a non credible source I know. Treatment is happening, just hope he does not aggrivate it against OSU. If he does he has 3 cupcakes in a row to rest.

If the source is non-credible, do we care?

My imagination is telling me Goosby is just fine. I just wanted to get this out there to reassure everyone.

When I bug the shit out of people about the topic who know more than I do, the most credible ones either tell me they don't know, it's day to day, or I send them into a panic because there are times I know more than they do, even if this isn't one of them. This is after getting reassured for the better part of two weeks that everything is fine, nothing to see here. "His Dad tells me he's fine and will play against Ohio State." That's Tuesday. Then it's "It looks iffy." "Should I pray?" "Couldn't hurt."

I think my human need for drama is getting fed here, too. I'm so wound up about the start of the season all these emotions have to go somewhere, even if it's completely unproductive. Goosby's health is what my brain has decided to fixate on. The rest of me is simply along for the ride.

The truth is it's going to be whatever it's going to be. We have another week of this. I can't wait for the game to get here and to watch this team on the field, regardless of Goosby's situation. I do hope it's something he's able to shake off at some point in the season. I do believe that's the case, whatever is going on.

As a chiefs fan, I’ve been pretty lucky to “creative” offense. I think Detroit has a little more unique one now. I really hope we see a true “sark” offense. I don’t want a wr sweep to be the trick play of the game. We should be able to run multiple looks and capitalize on what is working versus no one ever read the qb against us last year. I’m excited, I’m ready for us to play “All gas no brakes”. Our D and a solid punter can handle more aggression, ready for it.

I jammed my finger playing horse one morning, and I was jerking off that afternoon. Goosby is fine

Did the horse notice your hand was gimpy when you jerked it off?

Sorry, I meant that the guy who'd been practicing at LT all offseason (the Rice guy) recently got moved to the right side (both RG and RT), and the guy who'd been practicing at RT (Siereveld?) is now their starting LT

Well, the one on the right was on the left
And the one in the middle was on the right
And the one on the left was in the middle
And the guy in the rear was a Methodist

Not surprising at this point, but Matthew Caldwell got all the reps with the twos today.

We can expect Trey Owens to portal after this season, if not sooner.

If that happens, I predict that it will have zero impact on our team.

It’s unfortunate. He has a big arm and some swagger. Between Arch and Lacey he wasn’t going to start but I thought he could at least be a solid QB2.

I'm sure he could be. In fact, he may end up being a decent starter. But with Dia Bell coming next year, does it really matter?

It might depend on what Arch does. They'd probably want Owens back in a simulated "competition" with Lacey if Arch is gone, similar to the one with Card and Ewers. And I doubt they want Bell as the backup.

Or they could just go get another Matthew Caldwell. Or just tamper with the QB of their choice and start him. Lots of moving parts.

Maybe Ohio States offensive line is the greatest in its history because it's practicing agains the worst collection of defensive line talent the team has had in a long time?  Guess we shall see how great they are on Saturday.   I suspect they won't be that great based entirely on their NIL commitment to the Rice kid followed by his disappointment.

Who tf is Matthew Campbell? The Iowa State coach?

Yes. He is our backup quarterback this year. It's pretty outside the box thinking, but it just might work.

Wait, is Moseley out a long time. He’s not playing against Ohio state?

I knew he’s been out but very vague about what’s going on

Who fucking knows. The only confirmed player out is Cojoe. There’s half a dozen banged up guys that no one knows anything about. We’ll see if Sark gives an update on who is available on Monday.

Mosley needs to return to practice Monday to have a chance of playing. I guess the same for Jonah Williams. Emari Winston is out.

I get it regarding our edge guys, but I’m still not sold that we’ll be super stout in the middle. Huge question mark in my mind.  We lost a ton inside.  Any reports on these transfers making noise in practice?

Yes. The DT room is deep and should be a strength.

no it’s been crickets on all those guys.  I don’t think they’ve been mentioned in this thread at all.

This is like coming into a theater 10 minutes before a movie ends and asking, "What happened so far? Who is that guy? Is he a bad guy? I'm not sure about him.".

Along these same lines, I'm not sold on Colin Simmons. Have there been any reports on whether he's worth a shit or not? Arch too.

Not sure Michael Taaffe is up to the task, Anthony Hill seem super suspect to me and I don't think Wingo has what it takes. Anyone heard any info on those 3?

We’ve reached the point heading into the season where Bobby and Gerry have worked each other into a handwrung fever pitch about their worries for Texas. It looks like they’ve convinced themselves of a loss to Ohio State and then a CFP appearance is fully at risk.

I view it as a good sign. I don’t buy for one second that “this is the best Ohio State OL in two decades”.

I feel like we're getting a ton of pessimism mileage out of Goosby's injury. We're pretty healthy outside of that. Well, Mosley, but that shouldn't be a game changer. And if it is then that's a very bad sign.

This is a "just win, baby" game. Nothing about the offensive gameplan needs to dictate the rest of the season. If we need to run it 50 times and lean heavy on defense, fine. If Arch ends up having to carry us, fine. Just do whatever it takes. Our schedule is so wonky this year with the massive non-conference game followed by 3 relatively stress free home games. After Saturday we have a month to get ready for the rest of the season.
