OL pentalies continue to be a major problem. 2-3 drives were completely destroyed by their penalties. The WR screens also needs to be scrapped until the unit improves their blocking.

Saw Niblett out there blocking on a couple screens. That might be a physics problem

Actually looks worse. There’s a funny LASIK gone bad support group he can join

It a much more vertical offense this year. that adds volatility. Add in that Arch and Livingstone (crazy) are the playmakers on this team. Arch is really up and down, so that just adds more. OL just isn’t consistent

I think the pass pro from the OL has been pretty damn solid in both games.

was the chop block legit?  It was hard to tell in the stadium...

the OSU grades were not great. Baker looks to be a weakness (first 2 games, so he can will get better). Manning moves well in the pocket. Making the pass pro look better

No idea but this was the same crew as the Vandy game last year where we got called for a lot of borderline stuff.

The crew is definitely flag happy.

Really? I see an elite defense that is designed to give up the short passing game in favor of stopping big plays. That's the defense we've had the entire time Sarkisian has been here.

I see an offense that is predicated on quarterback play, with a quarterback who is big time risk/reward, much more so than Ewers ever was. I feel like we knew that going into the season. At least I did, and I thought it was blatantly obvious and everyone knew the score.

What I will admit is while intellectually I knew the offense was going to be more risk/reward, I did not have my expectations in alignment for what that would actually mean in practical terms. It is hard on my heart to watch Manning not look so good one moment and then spectacular the next. He's not great in the short passing game right now. He misses wildly on some of his throws in ways I did not expect to happen with such frequency. He does not take off running as much as I thought he would - or should, frankly.

I feel like Baxter is a huge missing piece for what was available on the roster last year. I feel like the offensive line is a work in progress, but I feel good about where they are right now.

I like where we are. I do not agree with the folks taking a dim view of this team. We'll see how it all plays out, but I feel good about the rest of the season.

I see a QB that has inconsistent mechanics, WRs that lose focus and drop passes, RBs that consistently get hit behind the line because offensive linemen are getting beat from the snap, and 3X and now 4X the penalties of our opponents…so yes, coaching. If it’s one thing out of sync, it could be the player learning. When everyone seems to be out of sync, it falls on the coaches. I’m not saying it can’t be fixed, but I wouldn’t say our guys have been locked in so far this season.

It’s a shame…I think he’s our most talented runner (unfortunately our best fumbler as well).

Yeah, the run game looks different with him. If only he didn't cover his hands in grease before every game.

32 Carry’s 155 yards   No idea what to think here. 4.8 w carry vs UGa is a win. 4.8 against this team seems like there’s a big concern   Gibson had some really good runs but yet another fumble

115 yards in penalties on 12 penalties

Offense is really suspect

3rd qtr and red zones still suck and no sustained drives.  It’s feast or famine.

but it’s a W and a W is a W but these next 3 weeks really need to see some monumental improvement because there are a lot of problems

no wonder we got called on the WR holding first play, then crickets on that call for the rest of the game.

4.5 ypc on Ohio State shows there's potential, but they need to clean up the penalties.

I didn’t even care enough to watch the game today, but after skimming this thread and the game thread it appears we continue to suck.  I’d be lying if I said I cared enough to be concerned though

My concerns:

  1. No identity
  2. No discipline
  3. No leadership
  4. No swagger
  5. No run game

Subtract Arch's long scrambles and those YPR are even worse.

We are team made up of a bunch of 1st year full time starters on offense. It's going to take a while for everything to gel. These G5 scrimmages are exactly what this team needs to get ready for Florida in October.

Zero consistent rhythm, discipline or focus. Fundamentals are lacking in a lot of areas.

Little to no motion on rushes. Stop saving them for whoever Sark.

This is the second QB in a row who seems to be much better when the offense is allowed to play loose but seems to keep getting restricted with conservative ass play calling.

PK and D continues to be a highlight but they too have issues with fundamentals, mostly around penalties.

We continue to outright suck in the 3rd.

These are concerning.

so does arky.
so do Kentucky and Vandy

so does Clemson.
so does bama.

but yeah/ Arch needed to be good to elevate this offense and apparently he isn’t.

I think the only concerns are that Clark sucks and Gibson fumbles.

Almost 5 yards per carry without your #1 back is just fine.  When it's Wisner and Baxter getting all the carries, supplemented by Arch, our running game should be strong to quite strong.  I think there's even an argument to be made that we should be a run-first offense.

It’s nice we get these 3 opponents in a row because it will be easy to tell what progresses and what doesn’t.

Although I think UTEP and SHSU are a step below SJSU.

If we clean up just half the stuff we need to, the results on the scoreboard will be noticeable.

I give Clark benefit of doubt he’s basically a first time in a college game back.  Gibson had some great runs. Looks the part. Could be a good power back but god his fumbles.

this isnt a running game that can close out a close game  when we need a 7 min pound the rock bruising demoralizing drive.  This isn’t it. I just have no idea what’s with the play calls. There’s no creativity like in the past to get studs in position. I can only hope he’s staying vanilla until Florida

What’s with the hiring of Neal Brown to help with QBs and Chat Scott to coach RBs? We can’t do any better than hiring these West Virginia coaching rejects?

Optimistic outlook:

-The defense is playing a ton of backups and third stringers and still performing well.

-Florida still looks like a Billy Napier team (which isn't good). If Oklahoma has the same look tonight, even a truly flawed team has a decent chance to go into Athens at 8-1.  There's a very real chance that our schedule before November 15 is more than manageable.

-Endries looks elite at TE and I'm guessing we will use him more heavily in big games.

-The kicker made a FG and I'll consider him an improvement.

Haha, we got there fast with Clark didn't we.

Admittedly, he didn't show much of anything in the way of... um... ability.

This was Clark’s first college game after an achillies behind what appears to be a fucking dog shit o line.  So I’m reserving judgement.

we need to target endries more. Wingo is only going to get touches on reverses. So do that more
