And?

Dude. Struggling against Sam Houston State on offense would significantly decrease the probability that the offense can get to any acceptable level this year. Yes, one game doesn't make a season. But it sure as shit can be a harbinger of what is to come.

Did you miss the part where I asked wtf happened in the two prior games?

If you about to go over a waterfall in a boat you simply didn't find yourself placed on that edge. You were headed that way for quite some time.

That was meant to be in defense of Babers. Thought it was odd to talk about him "converting" or whatever when he's been doing it for so long.

So... then why are you critical of Babers pointing out that struggling against Sam Houston State probably means were headed towards a waterfall?

Should I type with larger spaces between the words?

This offense isn't good, this offense is a very big concern going in the Swamp, how things go this weekend aren't going to make those issue go away.

I will ask the question again, if the Horns' offense rolls over Sam will you no concerns about facing the Gator defense in Florida or the Dawgs in Athens?

If that answer is yes, why?

Your logic doesn't logic and your criticism of Babers is nonsensical given your post. It actually sounds like you agree with him. No one believes that showing out against Sam Houston State necessarily means our problems are solved moving forward. All we are saying is that struggling against Sam Houston State likely means the problems on offense aren't solvable this season.

Sorry, but that is incorrect. I log in the same way regardless if it's a regular ESPN channel, Fox Sports etc. I go to texaslonghorn.com and click on live video. A big list of providers comes up, I click on mine and log on and watch. I never have an issue with any ESPN/Fox Sports channel but any + channel always asks me to pay for it. And my provider channel lineup shows I don't get the + channels. Some have a separate ESPN package for $9.99-$19.99 and maybe that get's you the + channels, but all the regular ESPN channels are included in my package so I have to pay for +.

Yes, any ESPN+ channels you have to pay for.

The game is on SECN+ and if your provider gets SEC network then you can watch any game on SECN+ without paying extra.

it shows being shown on ESPN+ and SECN+ because if people only have ESPN+ they can also watch the game without having a provider.

I should really copy this text and save it for next year

Yep, and when you click on the game (at the time it goes live), the app should prompt whether you want to use your TV credentials (SECN+) or your ESPN+ credentials (your separate subscription)

I want to see Arch play to his strengths and run more. Also, it seems like he's struggling because they've got a different package that he's not used to and is freaked out. Hoping to not see us having to go for it on 4th down every fucking drive this week.

A few team notes from IT

Spoiler

I don’t have a lot to report before the game Saturday night against Sam Houston State. We are at the “don’t tell me about the labor pains, show me the baby” stage of the season. It doesn’t matter what I report about the week—all that matters is the Texas offense plays well against the easiest opponent it will see all season.

But, I have to write something.

Steve Sarkisian’s demeanor this week was enthusiastic. He, and everyone else in the program, wants to see how the offense will perform. Behind the scenes, he’s as even-keeled as ever. When he says, “We have good players and good coaches,” he truly believes they’re going to improve by a considerable amount.

One source mentioned getting DeAndre Moore back is big: “Not just for the game but for practice. He’s another person who knows what to do and can communicate with others. He’s going to be where he’s supposed to be.”

We’re going to see a number of young players with prominent roles. Don’t be surprised if Graceson Littleton plays a lot at cornerback. That would open the door at Star for Wardell Mack to play his most snaps ever. This will be fun to watch because there’s a strong chance this is how it will shake out next year—with Littleton at corner and Mack at Star. Said a source, “Littleton can play anywhere in the secondary.”

Five-star freshman Jonah Williams is going to play at safety this week. They’re wasting little time getting him on the field after he began practicing on Monday. He could also see some time on special teams. “He was fast and physical” this week.

Sark mentioned Nate Kibble, Nick Brooks, and Daniel Cruz in his Thursday availability. While IT doesn’t expect any changes to the starting O-line, we do expect all three to play. Kibble has played a little bit but should see his most action yet. We didn’t hear if Brooks will be at guard or tackle, but he should play. Daniel Cruz has been solely at center: “Has some physicality to him and is ready for snaps.” Essentially, he knows what to do, but applying it in a game setting for the first time might come with some miscues.

The staff feels good about the development of Kaliq Lockett and Daylan McCutcheon. The goal is to get them as many snaps as possible this season in anticipation of them playing major roles in 2026.

With Tre Wisner and CJ Baxter out, we’ll see the three young players again—Christian Clark, Jerrick Gibson, and James Simon. This game will go a long way toward determining who RB3 will be when Wisner and Baxter return. The deciding factor will likely be understanding the run game. Who maximizes blocking?

IT asked about Justus Terry. He bounces between scout and regular team reps. He’s in a great headspace despite not having any breakout moments. Don’t worry about him.

Speaking of scout team, KJ Lacey is doing a really good job.

Or 3rd down.

Need to drop 70

Man... y'all crazy, but I like you.

This is how we set ourselves up for unrealistic expectations and ruin our Saturday experience.

When we "need" to do something that has only happened 9 times in the 131-season history of this program (and five of those happened before 1917) to "prove" something, we are going to have a bad time.

Hell, we've only scored more than 60 points 30 times in the history of this program.  That's fewer than once every four seasons.
