The vast majority of miscarriages are indiscernible from a normal menstrual cycle. Anyone who has ever studied human fertility even casually will have encountered this basic fact before. Which, obviously, excludes 99% of the anti-science party. A Republican who even knows the word 'zygote' is by definition an outlier. Because they are fucking morons.

We went through 4 miscarriages between our two kids, one of them was twins. If someone walked in saying the governor needs to know some deets, I'd tell them to shove it straight up his ass. My wife was in a seriously fragile state each time and I wasn't exactly level headed dealing with it either. I would physically fight someone that wanted to make it more painful. The gop has literally lost its fucking mind and its soul. They care nothing about people, just their stupid outlook based on fucking lies and treating their sacred book like a cafeteria buffet.

We went through 3 total.  Anyone trying to add a feather’s weight in pain to my wife would have found the fuck out real quick.

Maybe this is better. Trump calvin peeing on someone on the right, probably Hillary or Biden, but the kicker is the "family" stickers on the left, all different size machine guns. Just normal high level political conversations via sticker.

Yep, no honesty whatsoever. They'll say its about "the babies." Which of course they don't give two shits about after its born. "Personal responsibility!"

I’m struggling to find anything that supports that interpretation of the PA miscarriage bill. A surface-level bit of digging suggests that comic book level cruelty of those death certificates is a pretty dishonest depiction of what is being proposed. Honesty is still more important than winning internet points.

I could be wrong, but there’s nothing that I can find that supports that explanation.

Well, there's this, and a couple other sources the Google got me:

https://www.medpagetoday.com/special-reports/exclusives/91696

Pennsylvania Rep. Frank Ryan (R) introduced a bill (H.B. 118) in January that would require abortion providers and facilities to bury and cremate fetal tissue from all abortions and pregnancy losses. The legislation, also known as the Unborn Child Dignity Act, would also effectively mandate the provision of a death certificate for all abortions and pregnancy losses, regardless of gestational age. Currently, death certificates are mandated only for terminations and losses that occur after 16 weeks.

Do women currently have to pay for those and fill out the forms of it happens after 16 weeks? Or does the provider do this somewhat silently apart from the hurting woman?

The tweet used very specific language to describe something horrifyingly cruel — fining women and them filling out paperwork after a heartbreaking and very private experience.

My guess is it’s more designed to establish a stronger basis for the fetus as a person. However anyone feels about that agenda, it’s not the plain cruelty depicted here.

It’s a logical progression from punishing a woman for an intentional abortion to punishing her for an accidental one.

It returns to the unwanted and unintended pregnancies. A woman who wants to carry the fetus to full term /= a woman who never intended to become pregnant and seeks to terminate the pregnancy. A woman may have an unintended pregnancy and still wish to give birth. Miscarriages happen to all of these women. The State wishes to treat them equal so it does, but no where in there is compassion nor privacy for each of their circumstances. Their lives are irrelevant. If a woman wishes to have a ceremony for the remains of her fetus/baby then she can do so if she chooses. But the example listed earlier says any gestational age and that is getting to the point of showing bloody sheets after a marriage to prove virginity. Are we going back to that?

It gets better. If we're going to ignore science, then we're returning to women being blamed for not giving a man sons.

How would the govt ever find out that someone had a miscarriage? There's literally no reason to comply with this bullshit law.

I've had it with the phony religiosity and sanctimony of these republican/evangelical assholes. They're the worst at following what the Bible actually says, yet they use religion to justify their misogyny. Fuck them all.

I had no idea Texas requires death certificates for losses after 20 weeks or weighing more than 350 g. But of course it does.

Yes, it's fucking cruel.  Want to do a death cert for an aborted fetus?  It's ghoulish, but par for the GOP, so knock yourself out.  Don't carve out an exception for miscarriages or a ordered procedure because the fetus is stillborn or the mother's life is endangered?  That's fucking cruelty.

My ex and I had 4 miscarriages between 1996 and 1998.  Two just happened early on in the pregnancy, the other two the doctor did a D&C because there was no fetal heartbeat (4 months on the first, just over 3 on the second). I would have lost it if someone at the hospital brought me a fucking form during the discharge that I had to fill out and pay $20 for the privilege of getting a certificate from the state.

I’m looking for supporting evidence  that this is actually what the bill calls for. Besides the tweet referenced above, I can’t find anything that actually supports this. Everything I find suggests something notably different.

If the tweet is accurate and true, it’s maybe the most horrifying bill in a long time, but saying and writing true things should matter.

The tweet conjures up images of grieving women paying the miscarriage fine and having to fill out form 666misc or something.

That’s far different than a healthcare provider filling out some paperwork and letting the woman grieve in peace.

You can be against the political posturing of casting miscarried fetuses as people needing death certificates without resorting to possibly false imagery of the ultimate in bureaucratic cruelty.

And remember, I have no idea what I’m talking about when it comes to this subject, but I do know that tweets that put me into a blind rage(which such a bill should do) are often trying to manipulate and distort the truth. To me at least, that sure looks like what’s going on.

There is no GQP other than Trump. There is no separation, no identity, no principles. Just slavish devotion to a belligerent psychotic narcissist.

100% correct. Which means that the GQP is not a political party. It is a cult, in every sense of the word.

What I was able to see from the Pennsylvania bill (that was later clarified from the bill's sponsor) was that the State did not require the woman to provide the funeral or cremation. However, a death certificate must be filed. So, yes, the tweet was somewhat misleading.

I'm still opposed. The State is inserting itself into something so private regarding a (female) citizen's experiences healthwise that you would think the 'death panel' party would have some self-awareness.

How would the govt ever find out that someone had a miscarriage? There's literally no reason to comply with this bullshit law.

-Poor woman on Medicaid - a state run program.
-Said woman goes to doctor for pregnancy test. Test is positive.
-Woman goes to two prenatal appointments.
-Woman miscarries. Doesn’t go back to the doctor.
-State agency looks at Medicaid payor data of recipients who received prenatal care or had a pregnancy test billed for BUT who have no record of delivering a baby.
-Send The Uterine Gestapo to her house to question why she has no baby and make her prove it was a “natural” miscarriage.

Unless, you know, they want to increase the turnout of women voting for Democrats.  Because that's a good way to do it.

Seriously, this stuff reads like they want to boost turnout for those voting against Republicans.
