Today they hit #10 in the Caribbean.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. military has conducted its 10th strike on a suspected drug-running boat, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said on Friday, blaming the Tren de Aragua gang for operating the vessel and leaving six people dead in the Caribbean.

In a social media post, Hegseth said the strike occurred overnight, and it marks the second time the Trump administration has tied one of its operations to the gang, which originated in a Venezuelan prison.

Pentagon Orders Aircraft Carrier to the Caribbean

WASHINGTON—The Pentagon said it is sending the Navy’s most advanced aircraft carrier to the Caribbean in a major escalation of the Trump administration’s military campaign to target drug smugglers and threaten governments in Latin America.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered the USS Gerald R. Ford carrier, which is currently deployed in the Mediterranean, to the Caribbean, bringing dozens more fighter and surveillance aircraft, along with other Navy warships that accompany a carrier, officials said.

What a colossal misuse of time, money, and assets.  But if he's going to declare a war emergency so he can cancel elections and stay in power, then he needs his war first.

It will be a nasty as war. Even if you take out Maduro and the core of the military, now you get guerillas.

That is why I think our goal is going to be simple. Remove the government, take Maracaibo.

Wait till he says that about Americans who disagree with him.  You probably won't have to take long.

Fortunately, he doesn't have anything to worry about, as he has complete "presidential immunity."  Declare everyone who opposes the MAGA agenda to be a terrorist, then "perform the duties of the office of President" by killing all of those people, and he won't even have to break a sweat.

SCOTUS dealt a fatal blow to the country with that fucktarded immunity ruling. I'm still stunned even the right wing nutcases on there went that far.

Don't worry.  On the WAY off-chance that there's ever a Dem president again, they'll dial it WAY back....tied to the specific facts of that presidency or somesuch.

But yeah, as long as the POTUS is GQP, they intend for him to have greater powers than any king.  Seriously, check out the fucking Magna Carta, the goddamned English king had more restraints on his power than Trump does.

I liked how Biden was president when that happened, and basically everyone immediately went straight to "Oh fuck, Trump!". Not one person actually worried that Biden would use that to his advantage. I don't think anyone even bothered pretending to.

Unfortunately the officers and enlisted men and women wont have immunity of we are flat out murdering these "drug runners".

Oh and then there will be a lot of fun with guerillas attacking platforms out in the lake.  And boots on the ground to protect American oil interests.  Where have we seen this before?

Surgical military strikes.

Regime change.

Enormously costly unwinnable engagement.

No people throwing flowers and chocolates to their American liberators.

Oh, a carrier? Totally normal

On orders from a weekend Fox News host.

Sometimes I wonder how we're all still here.

The only restraints on Trump are illusory ones he hasn't pushed against yet.

I fucking would. I'd gather everyone of Trump's toadies into his gauche ball room to reward them for their service.

One thing I have not heard mentioned ANYWHERE is this:

Aren’t a lot of “mules” not necessarily important members of the cartel? Am I way off in my belief that often, those individuals (fishermen, etc.) are forced to do that assignment?

I mean they get paid, but the whole “agreement” comes from the choice presented of “plata o plumo”.

Yes. If they actually are running drugs, which is completely unproven at this point, they are not asked to make these runs. They are told to make these runs.

Yes and no. There is some of that. But there is also the payout and ability to get paid a lot than working in a cannery or gold mine.

Plata y plomo usually applies to businesses and police/military.

Most volunteer. I am not in agreement with the attacks. But lets be clear. A lot of those who do this, including American light aircraft pilots in the 1980's and 1990's did is for cash.

An example. In the Chapare or Upper Huallaga the people who work at the pozos, where pasta basica is made, do it for jobs. They know their feet are going to rot up to their knees, but they do it. No one forces them. These are areas of incredible poverty and almost no infrastructure. So the kids take the jobs and walk on horrid chemicals (yeah, that is what is also going into your nose) until they can no longer do it.
