  1. You're telling me aggy football players putting a "Try out Snook Feed and Seed, family owned and operated from Tom class of '59 and John class of '92 for all of your livestock and farm essentials" into their twitter feed is not going to pay off?

  3. I'm way behind on the thread, but this video brings up again how screwed up so many things are. The reporter asks a great question. The president declares a violent criminal to be the reporter's follower (as opposed to Trump's followers) and then goes on a ramble that includes the laughable absurdity about paint not being bullets. The format allows him to drift into campaign boilerplate about the ebil Dems responsible for the fictional national chaos he's convinced people exists. Okay. Now. The press would serve the public by following up. The original reporter wants to continue. Like trained seals, the other reporters start barking to get the president's attention for a new question which will let him off the hook. The original reporter persists (I don't know who she is, but she's great in this moment), but her follow is lost as the seals waddle forward hoping for their very own piece of rotten fish. A competitive press is a good thing. We don't want monolithic coverage. A room full of top line reporters undermining each other's efforts to get a fleshed out answer is just stupid. The other reporters should have stayed quiet until the original reporter got to press the point or taken up the point themselves. I watched the Nixon press conferences back during Watergate. I'm getting kind of nostalgic for Tricky Dick. We've finally sunk to a level where a sitting president has bigly surpassed Richard Nixon as a malefactor. We keep electing a downward spiral of GOP idiots and/or villains. The idiots have pretty much been puppets of the villains. If your shining exception is one-term HW Bush, you're doing something seriously wrong. The failure of a single GOP other than Romney to vote for conviction will ring for decades as the death knell of the republic. If you don't spit out this foul gob of a human, you'll swallow just about anything. Venting. It's all been said before, but it feels like we're the United States of Aphasia.

  7. What really bugs me is that if it is real, it's just perfectly Trumpy -- if he's going to do something, he's going to do it half-assed. Mini-stroke? Figures. Can't even have a full stroke.

  8. What in the ever living fuck are you blathering about? This kid was a fireman now? Is there anything a radicalized 17 year old with an illegal weapon CAN'T do? Get fuck out of here with that bullshit. If was at home playing basketball or video games or grab ass like any normal 17 year old, instead of wandering the streets of some other persons town with a rifle, two more people would be alive and his life wouldn't have been entirely wasted. Yet here we are. And your dumbass, along with thousands of others up to including the dumbass president of the United States, are trying to justify it. Look in the mirror and ask yourself where you went wrong.

  10. At least the expectations for Jaylon Jones are in-line with reality. Stingley ran the fastest 40 of any player at the SPARQ combine. 4.3 40 (with a 4.26 shuttle). Jones ran a 4.66 40 with a 4.5 shuttle.

  14. The whole "health scare" thing rings hollow to me and exactly what they did to Hillary in 2016. Who cares? If he's actually not well (physically), he'll fucking die. If it's bullshit, it just looks petty and conspiracy theory-ish. There are 900 other things to pick on that are actually horrifying and provable.

  15. Here's the thing. Every single one of these posters who's spamming this board with Daily Caller shit was a regular poster of the Cloak Room on TOS. After bitching about Obama for 8 years, they all exited the CR, posted up shop in the DT, and then began anew. It works well for them. They can criticize leftist political theory, Dem politicians, and libtards to their hearts content. Then, when challenged, say stuff like "hey, take that back to the CR for your lib circle jerk."

  21. You sure about that... https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/black-lives-matter-holds-rally-supporting-individuals-arrested-in-chicago-looting-monday/2320365/ “I don’t care if someone decides to loot a Gucci or a Macy’s or a Nike store, because that makes sure that person eats,” Ariel Atkins, a BLM organizer, said. “That makes sure that person has clothes.” “That is reparations,” Atkins said. “Anything they wanted to take, they can take it because these businesses have insurance.”

  22. I can get why the non-racist messages that conservatives dress their movement up with can be appealing to some black men. I don’t think you’re going to find any Democratic voters here that will really go to bat for the Democrats on racial issues. The sad fact is that the Democratic Party has too often taken black voters for granted and not done enough to address their material concerns. Even to the point of waiting until fucking 2020 to actually publicly address the GOP’s long-running voter suppression efforts. The Democrats’ record of actually standing up and fighting for black people is abysmal. In light of that, it makes sense that a message about individual empowerment can appeal to black people. But this ignores the question of who have the Democrats abysmally failed to fight on behalf of black people against? The answer is obviously Republicans. It’s the Republican Party that welcomed the explicitly racist voters into the party in the civil rights era. It’s Republicans who spent decades stacking the courts until they won a bullshit decision overturning the key provision of the Voting Rights Act. It’s Republicans who have been openly suppressing the black vote for years. It’s Republicans who are opposing any efforts to rein in police abuses against black people and who are expressly allying themselves with white supremacists. It’s Republicans who are literally using the idea of black people in white neighborhoods to scare whites people. It’s Republicans who think black people are subhuman. So the choice for black voters should be clear. How Republicans view black people is not up for reasonable debate. To them, Brotha is the enemy. He’s literally the embodiment of all of their fears and he must not be allowed to have any political agency unless he supports their racist agenda. But most people are dumb as hell about plenty of things and every demographic group has its contrarians (the dumbest people of all who think they’re actually the most brilliant, because god has a sense of humor), and the Democratic Party has failed its black voters time and time again. So I do kind of get it, or at least I would if the GOP weren’t explicitly a white supremacist party now. Here’s the difference between us and them. I think Brotha is absolute fucking looney tunes for still supporting the GOP at this point in time, but I don’t think he’s crazy for generally leaning conservative and I still want him and every person like him to vote. Because I want every American citizen that is eligible to vote to do so, because a country cannot be for the people if it is not of the people and by the people. And that includes people with ideas I think are fucking stupid, because that’s what democracy is fucking about.

  24. Is there absolutely zero chance going forward for them? Did they burn bridges? No idea, I just keep hearing this. Blake managed to piss off every Texas alum in existence through general bitchassness and can't for the life of him figure out why people don't still love him and donate to his charity, and Tommy and James spent their June and July convincing our QB commit to flip to Bama, so I'd say they're doing a bang up job of lighting those motherfuckers up.

  30. This is why I'm convinced people just want to burn shit. "Cops just MURDERED this guy who was just out celebrating his birthday with his kids, and stopped to break up a fight!! Well, not exactly. But by the time someone takes a fucking second to get the truth out, WI is burning down. Watch the videos from LA yesterday. "They just shot this man and left him to die, lying face down in the dirt" Tell me that isn't actively working to flame violence. Oh the guy who was fist fighting the cops, running away, and tossed a handgun? That guy? fuck outta here with that bullshit.

  31. There are a ton of reasons the B1G presidents can't just reverse course. It was never as simple as getting rapid tests for the players, though that is a big deal and needs to happen either way. There would be an uproar about prioritizing publicly-funded tests. And they've already planted their stake about myocarditis and other unknown complications. This is another flesh wound for Kevin Warren either way. He looks silly for capitulating to Trump after a single phone call, and/or he becomes even more of a pariah to fans if it doesn't work out.
