  1. Ughhhhhh I’m sitting in my car and crying with absolute rage. We have no beds, patients laying wherever they can. And just found out one of my absolute favorite surgical nurses just died of a heart attack because she couldn’t get optimal care nor a transfer because every fucking hospital in Alabama is in the same boat. I’m at the end of my rope. Sorry for venting here - can’t say this stuff on my real life social media for various reasons.

  2. It could be improved for sure. Unfortunately the NFL is likely handcuffed by the CBA and their desire for money above all else. Wrong. Having the right antibodies in sufficient amounts is most important. Wrong. Studies have already proven that antibodies in individuals that have had the vaccine are higher in number and more varied to provide better protection against different mutations than those naturally occurring due to an infection. Studies so far have shown that naturally infected bodies only produce a single antibody that the body finds effective, and no others. Vaccinated folks generate multiple antibodies. You're welcome to join a UT study on antibodies, if you're inclined to be helpful to the community. Wrong. Studies have proven over and over again that masks reduce the spread of the virus. The CDC, WHO, FDA, public health officials, immunologists, all agree. Only a few nut-jobs that make tons of money by hawking crap or getting Youtube revenue by bilking conspiracy theorists are still peddling this bullshit. Wrong. Holy shit, this might be the craziest shit you wrote in this steaming pile of de-wormed horse manure. Over 5 Billion doses of the vaccine have been administered worldwide. 5 Billion. Read that again. 5 Billion. Adverse events are generally limited to mild fever, body aches, and headache. Blood clots from the J&J vaccine occurred in 28 people out of 9 million. The adverse effects are so overblown. If you're referring to VAERS - OMG that hysteria is laughable. Pointing to VAERS as evidence of potential negative effects of vaccines (you do realize there are 3 vaccines, not just 1, right?), is akin to Aggy pointing at an internet poll as proof that they are the best football team in the NCAA. VAERS is the medical version of an online opinion poll. It is. However, it's also their prerogative to not play in the NFL. It's also their prerogative to be refused service indoors, where their personal choice starts to affect other people. Schools have long insisted on vaccines because they are safe, effective, and protect the public. This is no different. Wrong. God damn, I thought you had spewed some stupid shit above, but I severely misunderestimated your intelligence. Wrong. The 75% in Singapore was the percent of people testing positive. I'm too lazy to look up Israel. The hospitalization rate was way lower than that because the vaccine makes a huge impact in reducing the effects. Yes. Because antibodies wear off over time. And because self-centered assholes refused to help out the greater good by getting the vaccine, and are thus prolonging this shit even further. Please let us know what kind of "doctor" you are and where you practice, so that I can inform all of my friends and family to stay as far away as possible. You've got to be a troll, right? You can't with a straight face tell me that 1. You believe in mandates, when you've already declared medical decisions to be a personal choice. 2. You seriously recommend shoving a drug - that's main function is to battle parasites - up peoples' assholes. 3. That a drug untested for fighting this virus is potentially better than one studied, evaluated, and managed by the largest group of scientific experts in history. When sold for human consumption, it's generally safe. But, the morons - who have proven time and again that their only real commitment is to shun real science and experts at all costs - are willing to negatively impact themselves and society by going to feed stores to get quantities dosed for livestock and give it to themselves, causing liver damage and tons of emergency calls to posion control centers. All because they've dug in and entrenched themselves in a worldview that thinks that public health organizations, immunologists, scientific experts and doctors all have some giant agenda other than the public health - so they're willing to do anything and everything other than what the experts recommend. Wrong. There was 1 trial that was plagiarized and had falsified data, that had to be withdrawn. Here's an actual scientific study that shows ivermectin was ineffective against covid, and that "Patients who received ivermectin required invasive MVS earlier in their treatment". Ah yes. Here's the conspiracy theory part where you get to say "Big pharma is trying to keep the drug away from us to make more money with something else". Of course that's what's going on. Right. One doctor in Tokyo. One. And while he's influential, he's also not not suggesting that it's a for-sure cure. He suggested doing trials, and seeing if it's effective. Sure. Try it. But it's main purpose is to treat the effects of the virus, not to eradicate it from the body, or suppress it's transmission, or any of the other things that the vaccine does to help. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. The TLDR is that, like Beasley, you're a moron that doesn't understand science and is more interested in denying science and expertise to the detriment of possibly yourself and definitely society. Sorry for Cloak Rooming it up, but Jesus Christ, the amount of disinformation and asshattery in this post was ridiculous.

  3. I think that before you are ever transported to a hospital, your vaccination status should be asked. You are unvaxxed, you go to your house. You refused the vaccine, you should not get the option to take up finite resources while you are finding out. Fuck you.

  5. This is infuriating. These antivaxxers are blathering on about vaccination being a personal choice. Folks, these are the people you are impacting with you personal choice. Fuck you. The world is better off without the antivaxxers in it.

  6. The gloating from Republicans on this is sickening. We were there for the last 20 years because of GWB and Cheney. Iraq too, and they didn't even have anything to do with 9/11. We killed over half a million Iraqis. That's a real number. And now, all of a sudden, y'all give a shit about dead American soldiers and Afghan civilians? Go fuck yourselves, you transparent hacks.

  8. as a reminder: Demas and Wright both combined for 0 catches in their freshman years. more information regarding blue chip WR under Jimbo at A&M from this reddit post dataset average blue chip WR season: 8 catches for 116 yards and 1 TD (135 total snaps) median blue chip WR season: 2 catches, 24 yards, 0 TDs (81 total snaps) /// blue chip WRs under Jimbo: 16: Keith Gavin 17: DJ Matthews, Tamorrion Terry 18: Tre'Shaun Harrison, Warren Thompson, Jordan Young 19: Dylan Wright and Kam Brown 20: Demond Demas, Moose Muhammad III 10 blue chip WR 7/10 had 0 catches - other 3 guys had 10, 6 and 2 catches. 10 guys combined for 18 catches, 157 yards, 1 TD - avg: 1.8 catches, 15.7 yards, 0.1 TD and averaged 38 snaps each - SUPER pushed up by 159 snaps from Tre'Shaun Harrison median: 21 snaps, 0 catches, 0 yards, 0 TDs only 3 of the 26 5* WRs in the dataset had no catches their freshman year - Bru McCoy (USC > Texas > USC), Mecole Hardman (special teams mostly) and Demas /// same timeframe for Texas: 10 blue chip WR (Duvernay, Collin Johnson, Brennan Eagles, Joshua Moore, Alvonte Woodard, Jordan Whittington, Jake Smith, Marcus Washington, Troy Omeire, Kelvontay Dixon) 10 guys averaged 8.9 catches for 121 yards and 1.4 TDs. Texas had 3 guys with 20+ catches (Durvernay in 16, Johnson in 16, Jake Smith in 19) and averaged 139.3 snaps. median: 75.5 snaps, 3 catches, 44 yards, 0.5 TDs NOTE: the dataset included Damion Miller for Texas but since he didn't qualify I removed him from the set. /// In general if you are a blue chip WR and go play under Jimbo Fisher, you are going to under perform compared to your contemporaries. You will play less snaps, catch fewer balls for fewer yards and fewer TDs. anyone acting like they are going to go and play as a true freshman in a Jimbo Fisher offense is fooling themselves.

  9. This thread is a good reminder of why I don’t enter CR very often. As someone who doesn’t identify with either political party, it amazes me how much adults will absolve their own party/candidates of any wrongdoing and vehemently attack the other side for all the evils in the world. Can’t we just agree that both sides of the political aisle, including 2 R presidents and 2 D presidents, have fucked up Afghanistan for the past ~20 years? Bush - Invaded in response to 9/11, hung around to what, build a democracy in the Middle East? Obama - Killed Bin Laden, hung around to what, continue building that democracy? Trump - Freed some Taliban prisoners, hung around because leaving in his first term was political suicide, although that was a moot point. Biden - Initiated a withdrawal that most people agree is needed, but handled it in a way that appears to be mostly chaos, resulting in American and Afghan deaths, and poorly communicating with our ally countries that makes the U.S. look like a bunch of selfish and incompetent jackasses. From where I’m sitting, it looks terribly managed by all of the above actors. Biden’s current failures are partly due to the 3 guys that came before him and partly due to his own leadership. Quit trying to separate them. I also get the sense that some Republicans want the Afghanistan withdrawal to be a bloody affair just to point the finger at Biden. Much like a year ago I got the sense that some Democrats wanted Covid to be worse to point the finger at Trump. It’s pretty shitty to want the world to be a worse place because you didn’t vote for the guy in the White House.

  14. Yep. They're way lower than the general population, and lead to way lower transmission, hospitalization, and death rates. The vaccine doesn't prevent the virus from getting into your body. It gives your immune system the tools to fight it when it does, and hopefully allows your body to squash it before you're able to give it to others. But, I'm sure they covered that when you were pre-law or pre-med, or whatever.

  16. JFC, cloth mask is better than no mask. N95's are better than cloth. I wear a valved N95 with a surgical mask over it and have recommended it repeatedly on here. A lot of lives would have been saved if Trump had used the Defense Production Act to produce N95 masks for everyone and distributed them. Biden should have done the same thing. That said, primarily aerosol spread doesn't mean it doesn't spread via droplets as well. That's Texags level logic. Wear the best mask you have access to.

  17. Man, this is one of my favorite brands of posts. The purposeful use of the term "operators" -- good old fashioned inside baseball terminology, like you are a real "warfighter" who has "been in the shit." And it's super cool, because it evokes the image of ripple-muscled heroes, with "punisher" tattoos and a hoorah git some attitude, and ain't nobody can stop 'em cuz they're American badasses! [ignoring the fact that we've sent home a shitload of bodybags filled with the bodies of our special forces] But shit, let's indulge in your fantasy. We turn the badasses LOOSE! Git some, go be heroes! Wait, what's that? We sent out 20 missions, 3 of those teams are now pinned down and need air and/or armor support? And 2 more of those teams had their choppers shot down/disabled? We're gonna need more resources to go rescue them and "exfil" them. So, let's add to our presence to do that. In order to do THAT safely, we're going to have to expand the perimeter around HKIA. We're gonna need more troops and armor and air support to do THAT. Then, we have to fly in a shitload of fuel and equipment. Then.....well, shit, we just re-invaded Afghanistan and are in another full-blown shooting war again. Goshdarn, ain't that a pickle? You know what it is? It's exactly what the McMasters of the world want. They want us to go back in, set up an occupying force, and stay. Because our business is war, and we never close a storefront once we've opened it. We are retreating from hostile territory. We are going to take damage and casualties. We always were. The when, how, and how many may have been variables depending on multiple factors, and there are likely bad decisions that made this situation worse than it otherwise might have been......but we were always going to have troops killed on our way out. Once you get in a horrific mess, there's no clean way out. War, dating a crazy woman, etc., it's a universal truth. We have to continue to GTFO, do what we reasonably can to evacuate people who can get to us, do what we can to protect our troops, and when the last plane out takes off, don't look back.

  19. Leviticus 13:45 A diseased person must wear torn clothes and let his hair hang loose, and he must cover his mouth and cry out, ‘Unclean, unclean!’ 46As long as he has the infection, he remains unclean. He must live alone in a place outside the camp. That's in reference to leprosy but the gist is people 2000 years ago understood the importance of masking. All these Bible thumping motherfuckers who are anti mask need to fuck the fuck off.

The fact is, other reporters wouldn't have even been sniffing around on the is one if they didn't see it here first and now they may completely give the story away (as if the hints weren't bad enough).Borderline shameful, IMO.

  28. I've been logging in every few days to check notifications, and figured if someone actually tagged me, I'd respond. I hope that we're all just laying in the weeds, finding homes, and trying to stick you guys/SECESPN for every last dollar. It's not personal, it's just business. We're going to need the cash, you know? My hope is that a couple days after everything is settled with UT/OU/SECESPN and the Irate 8, that announcements come out saying that ISU/KU are going to the Big 10, OSU/KSU/Tech/TCU are going to the Pac 12, WVU is going to the ACC, and Baylor is going to Hell. Given the complete and absolute silence from ISU's AD, and some things starting to leak, I could see it (but I'm not getting emotionally invested in that outcome). The big reason I think it's feasible is there's been some discussion in ISU corners of a move back towards unequal revenue sharing. ISU and KU don't need to make the Big 10 $50 million a year if they're willing to take a lower cut of the payout in exchange for stability, and that's an angle absolutely no one nationally has even remotely considered. If that doesn't work out, I don't think it's crazy that the more powerful leagues would throw the reformed Big 12 a bone and give us an automatic playoff berth in the future in exchange for dropping suits and fucking off. It's a way for SECESPN to shut us up (so your incentive to do this) and from the Alliance standpoint, it keeps a playoff spot away from y'all, which seems to be a motivator them. If we have a guaranteed place at the table in that regard, I don't really care as much about lower payouts. In an Irate 8 + BYU/Cincy/Houston/UCF scenario, as long as the Big 12 or whatever you call it champ is getting into the playoff, I think we're fine. I don't see my personal interest diminishing at all. KSU, KU, and OK State are the schools I feel the closest to anyways. If the Irate 8 are just permanently shut out of having access to college sports, I'll probably still follow it in a diminished capacity, but it would be a major, senseless loss.

  29. I was planning on smoking a 12 pound brisket on Saturday but I had a last minute recording session and had to leave town, my wife messed up the recipe but it turned out great, here is what happened: I brined the 12 pound brisket starting Friday night then left town. My wife on Saturday night forgot what I told her and took the brisket out of the brine and rinsed it, she then rubbed it with a mixture of ground chipotle pepper, black pepper, chili powder, sugar, cumin and cilantro, she then cut it in two (don’t ask why) and put each piece in a large freezer bag, put half a bottle of liquid smoke in each bag and put them back in the fridge, on Sunday night she put both pieces into a large metal turkey roasting pan then covered them with a mixture of Stubbs and cattleman’s BBQ sauce, she cooked it at 225 for 5 hours. I was pissed with I got home and while I was yelling about her screwing up my brisket she shoves a piece of the brisket in my mouth, I almost popped a boner, it was the best fucking brisket I have ever tasted outside of a restaurant. My wife is giving me the biggest shit eating grin along with a told you so look.
